Big Ben: Critics 'don't know what' they're talking about NFL.com Remember when Ben Roethlisberger didn't care about football, or when he suggested that he was losing a step six weeks ago? Well, he doesn't. ...read more
Or maybe the critics made Ben take a long look in the mirror and he didn't like what he saw. Criticism is a form of communication. It can bring about positive change. Maybe Ben just went to work.
beach; Maybe Ben just went to work. This is what the second half of the Titans game looked like to me… and I was very pleased. He looked like he woke up to the potential of HIS game … the guy who’s hard to take down, the guy who you’d fear to blitz because he’ll find the open receiver the guy who made a living on short scrambles for long down field gains … Perhaps, in regards to the Titans game in effect for the very best of the Good, Bad and Ugly of this season is “if you poke the bear, you get the teeth” He played pissed, a chip on the shoulder and looked more like he should look, has looked and hopefully will continue to look until February, 2018. Maybe Ben just went to work. ps: no J2S2 ? IMO, MB (over and crossing) and Rogers (under and crossing) take full advantage and they too remind us of who they can and will be for this team and themselves.
I feel like Ben hasn’t been dialed in at all until recently. I sometimes wonder if the cumulative effect of a gadjillion concussions in his career have caused the processing speed in his brain to slow down. Better, then, to put him in an offensive format in which he has always been most comfortable.
We'll see as the season progresses whether the second half last week was the start of something special or if it was just a flash of past greatness. Obviously, I hope its the former. Forgive me if I still believe its likely the latter.
Another great game by Ben. Arm looked strong, legs had some life in them. Good decision making. Love it when he plays like that!
Recognizing man coverage and then running for 1st downs was great. He did that twice tonight instead of forcing a throw.
Two consecutive great games from Ben. Eli Rogers needs to be benched again. Hopefully JuJu is back next week because Rogers is very unreliable. If this is the Ben we are going to get the rest of the year, I like our chances against anyone. Obviously, the defense needs to stop giving up those huge plays, but I'm starting to get excited!
I'm on my phone so I can't do any formatting, so I'm responding to the quip about Eli Rogers. I'm amazed Ben targeted him on another third down after he dropped two passes earlier in the game. He hasn't shown diddly or squat with his limited chances this year after being the most consistent receiver on the team after Brown and Bell last season. Not sure what happened or why the receivers on this team tend to be either Antonio Brown or Jekyll and Hyde. In a nutshell, the health of JuJu really is an important thing to monitor this week. His success is no fluke. The Bungles bracket Antonio like crazy, so a second, consistent receiver is invaluable.
Can't agree with you more Mano. Rodgers got benched for a reason. JuJu much better. Ben taking the check down to Bell over and over was a game changer. I'm still crossing my finger that Bryant is going to continue to progress this season. If Bryant can continue to improve each week and JuJu returns healthy the offense just might become what everybody expected it to be. Just in time for a playoff run.
