    THE GOOD:
The Steelers get the win and it is a division win.
The Steelers blocked a punt for a TD
T.J. Watt had 2.0 sacks and 1 INT.
    A. Chickallo had 2.0 sacks as well.
The Steelers defense had 7 sacks.
    Ben Roethlisberger played decent.
AB with 11 of 11 receptions for 182 yards.
    Jesse James with 2 TDs.

    THE BAD:
DeShone Kizer played well for his 1st real NFL game (67% Completions,1 passing TD, 1 rushing TD, 1 INT).
The Steelers didn't run the ball well and had to rely on the pass.
Le'Veon Bell was not a factor - neither was the running game.
Not a lot of points from the Steelers' offense.

    THE UGLY:
Ravens defeated the Bengals 20-0 in Cincinnati.

I didn't watch a second of this game, but I followed it. Brown catching every Target is insane. Steelers, like my Ravens, have rust on offense from so many players missing off-season time.

It did seem like the Browns are going to make the division more interesting though. Not a bad first outting by Kizer

    The Good:
A victory. We won't go winless on the season.
    AB. Already at mid-season form.
The blocked punt recovered for a TD. Usually, our special teams is suspect; it's nice to see a positive play (especially as it turned out to be the difference in the final score).
TJ Watt had a nice debut. His sacks were really coverage sacks, but he showed hustle and a non-stop motor. The INT was just sweet.
Chickillo had a nice game as well, and so did Jesse James.

    The Bad:
An injured starter already. I haven't heard any update on Tuitt's injury. If it turns out that it will cost him time in the line-up, this could move to an UGLY.
The running game in general and Le'Veon Bell in particular. He wasn't seeing holes and he dropped several balls that came right to his hands. Holdouts have consequences. And the O-line didn't do him any favors.
The offensive plan. Cleveland's D dropped safeties deep and kept everyone else up tight to the line. That should have left lots of stuff open in the middle, but the Steelers kept throwing these quick outs and screens. It's like Haley kept playing right into the strength of the D and ignoring what it was leaving available.

    The Ugly:
Penalties. And more penalties. And a few more penalties on top of that. Pittsburgh gave the Browns as many yards as they earned by themselves. The Steelers' offense kept moving backward and the defense kept wasting opportunities. A lack of focus and discipline.

The Outstanding: Ben and Brown, 11-11 for 185.... damn!

The Good: can't complain about a win. I know that I'm guilty of thinking of this Browns game as preseason game #5. I wonder if the Steelers were too?

The Bad: Penalties. Anytime a team has more than 100 yards of penalties.... something is wrong!

The Ugly: The play calling. Look, we see this crap against the Ravens too. And Haley and the Steelers respond the same way. It doesn't work! Throw the damn ball down the field. Good for Ben for blowing up on Tomlin and Haley!

    The Good
    A win's a win. Good Ben.

    The Bad
My fantasy team .... who woulda thought a guy like James would get two touchdowns .... why do I play fantasy football ???

Ben's pick when up a lot that became a little ... he will never understand risk and return. Gunslinger/Favre anyone?

    The Ugly
I'm not sure AB caught that last pass. Can somebody give me the rule why on that one? Also I think our defensive game plan may have been to get as many head shot penalties as possible. It was an ugly game in that regard.

    The Extra Ugly:

Tuitt feared to have torn bicep after signing 5 year contract.

    Jeesh

  9. Pretty easy he possessed the ball to the ground then the defender ripped it out

Ugly - Bud Dupree hurt and missing another game. Lamaar Woodley versions 2?

Starting to feel and look that way. Less "freaks", more football players please. If he misses substantial time again this season, they may think long/hard before picking up his 5th year option this coming Spring.

Availability IS PART OF YOUR TALENT and a big factor in the overall evaluation of any player. You can't say someone is "talented" if they only play 8-10 games/year and make big bucks and/or were a high draft choice...........the team is always drafting you or paying you big bucks on an extension with the assumption you will play 16 games or damn close to it. So when I hear people say XYZ player is "so talented", my first thought is always............"does he usually play 16 any given year". It matters.................A LOT.

    GOOD
AB - thanks goodness for him
    Watt - great start
Last offensive and defensive series before the half
    Last offensive series
    The Outlaw
    Dirty Red

    BAD
Ben - not horrible, just a little off most of the day. Very bad INT
Tuitt - he sure came out like a bull in a china shop. Not season-ending thankfully

    UGLY
    Penalties
Ben's single leg takedown form - Head needs to be on the inside

    The Good:
    1-0 in a division game
    AB was great
    Blocked punt TD
Watt. He has the makings a good one. The genes are there.

    The Bad:
Lot's of injuries. The Tuitt injury. What about Dupree? Is he hurt too? That would suck.
Not enough Bell. He looked slow but, to be fair, the Browns really seemed to have a good game plan.
Not enough of spreading the ball around. I would like to see Bryant involved more as well as Rogers.

    The Ugly:
Penalties. They wiped out some good plays. The one by Shazier was just plain dumb. I get why the Gay one was called but I don't know how he can pull up. The guy ducked down. Oh well.
Too many WR screens. The Steelers can't run those right so be done with them. Hit WRs in stride and use their speed.
    The Ravens look really good.

    Summary:

Lot's of teams who have high powered offenses floundered yesterday. The Packers looked terrible at home. The defenses are ahead of the curve this early in the year. This is why I feel OK about Ben and the O. They'll gel and be very good/great. It's hard to know how good the Browns will be. The D looked good and Kizer was not rattled despite being sacked a lot. They may turn the corner. I hope their gameplan of dropping the safeties and trying to make Ben impatient is something the Steelers adjust to because you can be sure other teams will do it. Ben has to take the underneath stuff when it's there. I hope for 2-0 next week and that they look better doing it.

Everybody has said it already but I'm going to say it again. Brown was fantastic!!!
TJ Watt played like a veteran. Love the kids motor and effort!
Jesse James came up big for the Steelers. His second touchdown was impressive.
The defense was effective getting to the QB!
Alualu stepped in and played pretty well when Tuitt went down. Nice pick up in the off season.

Great news in regards to Tuitt! Not a torn bicep tendon and he is going to be week to week. Hopefully he recovers quick.

We all agree the penalties were bad. Some dumb ones mixed in with some borderline calls. The Steelers have got to clean it up!

The defensive pass coverage scheme is the same old clunker.

The Browns are a much improved team. That young defense they have impressed me. Kizer was much better than I expected. Huge Jackson is going to right the ship for the Browns. Off topic but I think Jackson and Zimmer where responsible for the Bengals rebound a few years back.

    Good: Watt
    Brown
    Win

Bad: Bell getting 13 touches. Im sure the excuse will be he was not in game shape and bad starting position fromsome penalties but Bell should have close to 10 carries when we go into the half. He didnt get his 10 until the 4th quarter.

Recieves not named Brow. Sure you can say bryant is rusty and him and ben will need more time but while Browns game was huge you have to ask where are the other Wrs.

Ugly: penatlies i belive they said we gave the browns 6 first downs off of penalties. What are we Raiders east?

The Ugly: The incessant whining from Browns fans about the personal fouls when it was the very thing that kept them in the football game. Without them it's probably 31-7.

RE Jeanquev's Bad... Tomlin said the minimal touches for Bell was due to the long chains.

That is what I mean by bad starting position. Its still a bad decision.

Seems someone forgot an entire thread on here devoted to Vontase Burfict when he gift wrapped a playoff win for the Steelers.
