Kaep isn't a good QB. Why would you want him on the Ravens? Even Flacco managed to beat him in the SB.
Makes me wonder, how bad it is. Essentially mothballing him for the preseason is precautionary, but he is arbitrarily ready to play in a month? He comes into the season cold and not in NFL condition which only increases his chancess of getting hurt behind a suspect line. There is something more to this.
Nobody wants him as a starter, but you can't convince me that Ryan Mallett is a better backup option. For now, I'm not going to make a big deal of it because the defense is looking pretty good. But I'd rather have Kaepernick on the bench behind Joe
Depends on the deal Kaepernick would take. If he'd take a million even for a year, It'd be an even monetary swap for the team, but an upgrade in talent from my point of view. If he's looking for anything over, let's say, 3M then I probably wouldn't do it only because of the Ravens cap issue. Of course if this was all in play BEFORE the many injuries that led to more wasted cap space, I'd have done the swap even if Kaepernick wanted 3M
If you guys don't like what is happening to Kaep you can pledge your support to him by signing the petition to boycott the NFL completely until he is signed by a team. Me personally I say screw him he made his bed and is already a millionaire.
To be honest with you, I'd consider it IF I knew all the necessary details. He's not saying much himself, and he's keeping his camp quiet (minus his girlfriend). For example, I don't know what his salary demands/requirements are. I don't believe that media led talk that he's demanding 10M (originally 8M from an ESPN writer who was speculating but fans ran with it) but I also don't know if he'd accept veteran minimum. In the Ravens case, due to how much salary cap scrambling the team has had to do in order to replace these injured players, we likely couldn't sign him for anything more than the min. I'll maintain that Biscotti handled it the wrong way. Don't call a press conference. Don't tell me (the fans) that you polled fans, sponsors, or even asked Ray Lewis. Don't even mention it. Just move on if you don't want him. They brought the circus to their own doorstep by how it was handled. All that said, if it comes out that he told teams he'd take vet minimum, or it's confirmed that Ozzie and John really did want to sign him and Biscotti rejected it, then I may change my opinion on the boycott concept. Nobody should be penalized for for peacefully requesting equal treatment for people not receiving equal treatment. I've seen Kaepernick called worse things than the Nazis who marched in Virginia
Looks like they just signed Thad Lewis. It seems Kaep is getting further away from being a Raven. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...timore-ravens-swap-qbs-add-veteran-thad-lewis He hasn't played since 2013 with the Bills and is recovering from a knee injury in San Fran last year.
