I'll start . . . The Browns start out the season 1-0. Josh Gordon gets reinstated around week 3, performs really well then fails a test and is banned for life by week 8. Cory Coleman is put on IR before the bye week. (OK - that one is not so bold) NFL Network officially changes their name to the "Dallas Patriots Network". {edit} Cam Erving gets traded to the Ravens.
 I will say Lym, some of those are really bold! How about these: The Browns start the season 0-1, Stick with Kessler at QB and enter their bye week 6-2 The Browns end the season 9-7, as 20% of the starting lineup hits a rookie wall We trade Osweiler in division Week 3 to the Ravens for a 2018 2nd round draft pick, as the Ravens are desperate being 0-2 to start the season without Flacco Crowell leads the team in rushing...but a different RB leads the team in total yards...
Good stuff, fellas! Here's a couple of mine: 10-6 on the season, including 1-0 and a hot 6-2 start (to @IrishDawg42 point, rookies hit a second-half season wall) Make playoffs as a wild card team but lose to third-seeded Oakland Myles Garrett breaks the single-season sack record for a rookie with at least 15.0 sacks (breaks the single-season sack record in 2018 with at least 23.0 Cody Kessler stays healthy behind a dramatically improved offensive line, starts 16 games, makes Pro Bowl The Browns still pick in the Top 10, thanks to Houston's pick who tanks on the season Browns become a "sexy" 2018 to challenge for AFC Championship by the same folks deriding them this offeason as a "3-win *at best* team". Hey... it's still early, we can dream, right?
Definitely good stuff folks... I'm not sure I'm quite ready for that flavor of Kool-aid... But I'll play along... Brock Osweiler lights it up in pre-season and looks every bit like the eventual starter. Both Cam Erving and Osweiler get traded to the Ravens before the season starts. In return Ozzie eats Osweilers entire salary and the Browns get a 2018 2nd and 4th round pick, plus a 2019 2nd round pick. Just edging out the Colts who wont take on all of Osweilers Salary. Crowell and Johnson remind us of Mack and Byner as the they both rush for over 1000+yds. Johnson becomes the first Brown to have 1000+yds rushing and receiving. By Halloween Twickenham Stadium looks like a sea of Orange and Brown. Just miss the playoffs with a 9-7 Record... Well, ...Ok I guess I am Duff Set em up Oh yeah one more... Lymans new favorite emoji will be...
Wow, those are gonna be tough to beat....Bold takes from wildly optimistic Browns fans....I love it! Ok here goes.... -Myles Garrett makes good on his promise early in the opener with a vicious strip sack of Roethlisberger, which is quickly scooped up by fellow rookie Jabril Peppers and taken to the house for the first TD of the season... - Garrett and Peppers will both go on to have spectacular rookie seasons, earning co-rookie of the year honors....Gregg Williams yells and declares, "they coulda been better!" - The coaching staff can NOT hold the rookie back as the super focused Deshone Kizer seizes the starting QB job in the preseason, and never looks back. He leads the Browns to an impressive upset in the opener, and after a 4-0 start leaves no doubts in the hearts of Browns fans worldwide, that we have indeed finally found our quarterback...After a Dak-like rookie season Kizer earns ROY honors...Browns go 10-6 and host playoff game for first time since Bill Belichick and Vinny Testaverde were here... - Isaiah Crowell rushes for over 1500 yards and scores 15 TD's, earning his first pro-bowl....Seth Devalve becomes a household name....The surprisingly effective Browns offense starts to run roughshod over the AFC. Power running game and vertical passing game give the Cleveland Browns true balance and make them extremely dangerous for ANY team to handle... -Browns FO becomes the "Talk of the NFL" after their amazing turnaround is complete.....Heading into 2018 season, with another spectacular draft under the belt, the Browns now are the bullies of the AFCN, and the odds on favorites to represent the AFC in the SB... WOOF WOOF!!!
Also maybe not that bold... Final AFC North Standings: 1. Pittsburgh Steelers (12-4) 2. Cleveland Browns (10-6) 3. Cincinnati Bengals (7-9) 4. Baltimore Ravens (4-12)
Browns will play good enough in 2017 to earn at least two Primetime games in 2018....It'll be confusing at first for Browns fans expecting our usual Sunday at 1pm slot, but adjustments will have to be made...
The Browns will have the #1 overall pick in the draft when the Texans decide to delay playing Deshaun Watson longer than Jared Goff was delayed.
Nah. The Bears will have the #1 overall pick in the draft regardless of when they decide to start Trubisky.
The Browns will beat the hell out of the Jets this year...I think this Browns team is going to play with a serious edge. They are embarrassed by how bad last year was....With the new infusion of talent from the offseason, these guys have no idea how good they can be. I feel certain they won't be the worst team. If I had to guess, I'd say the Jets are taking that over...
TD I get the excitement for the season, but every team had an influx of talent added to their roster...NYJ beat the Browns last yr and most of their scoring/stats came from guys not on the roster....McCown, Hawkins and Pryor....NYJ ran 35 times for 171 yds and 3 TDs while the Browns ran 18 times for 68 yds and 1 TD....no doubt the Browns can win the game and will probably b a slight fav(3pts), but lets not act like this is a mismatch....and oh btw, the guy throwing for all those yds in '16(McCown 341) will be wearing green and white this yr
I don't know anyone besides a diehard Jets fan who would argue they had an "influx" of talent. Ignoring the Jets for a moment, though, the Browns have been perennially bad and while it's easy to point to the quarterback issues or lack of consistency, it's actually Cleveland's lone consistency that has made them one of the worst teams in the NFL - they are the worst in the League at stopping the run and have been over the past five seasons. Gregg Williams has the ability to change that. For nearly his entire career, his defenses have ranked in the top half of the League against the run. From 32 to 16 is a massive improvement for Cleveland. The heavy investment in the defensive line should also show the team is serious about improving there. Myles Garrett is a pass rush specialist, but certainly no slouch against the run. Larry Ogunjobi is 305 pounds of muscle who played nose tackle and will immediately upgrade the run defense. Caleb Brantley was a Top 50 prospect who they added in the sixth round. Forgotten man, Desmond Bryant, returns from an injury and that's to say nothing of the continued development of Danny Shelton and rookie Emmanuel Ogbah. Between the talent on the team and the leadership of Williams, the run defense stands to make significant strides in 2017. So now, back to the Jets... if they hadn't been able to rush for 5.1 yards-per-attempt and over 150 on the ground in that game last season, there's a good chance they don't win by a measly 3 points.
The Browns marketing department watches some film and is able to persuade the NFL into allowing them to change their awful pants. Its a win for everyone!
So you dont think adding Jamal Adams( I had him possible top 3 pick), Maye and Stewart(another guy I was really high on) as an influx of talent? I get what your saying, but this Jets team still has a great front 7 led by Wilkerson and Williams
