Yes this was great- thanks dudes! Special thanks to those who do the behind the scenes stuff to make all of this work and put the spreadsheet together, thanks for putting in the work so we could all have a fun experience!
Unless there is a time crunch 20 mins should be our minimum time slots. It can be tough to update without it snowballing. Next mock it's 30 after the first round.
Morrison and Winston were both targets for me at various points, so I definitely concur with your positive assessments on them. Nice!
You didn't know it, but you had the funniest snipe of the entire draft at the top of the seventh. I had already dumped my previous pick so I figured I should take somebody / anybody. I decided to go with a practice squad center because somebody has to snap the ball for the scout team and I only have two centers on the roster. I also knew I'd be away for most of the 6th and 7th rounds and didn't have time to look up a bunch of names, so I went pretty far down the list of interior line guys, found Kendall and sent that name to Joe, RT and Tim, figuring it was almost certain he'd still be around. Naturally... exactly *one* pick ahead of me, he's taken... Fortunately, I did leave a very specific profile with them as a backup plan, and they managed to find a player who satisfied my demanding requirements for the pick ("any center with a pulse"). So... I'm glad you were one pick ahead of me instead of one pick behind me since you really wanted him. Joe's still laughing that I got sniped on what would have been a camp scrub. I am too. Side note for anyone who didn't know... remember long time center Pete Kendall? Drew is his kid.
Guess that’s how I really know how far the Pats have fallen when your camp scrub could be our starting center in 2026 lol. There’s too many easily connected dots not to think the Pats could be all over Kendall and his BC teammate Ozzy Trapilo (would’ve taken him at 80 if he’d been there). His dad Steve also played OL at BC and for many years in the league with the Saints and sadly passed when Ozzy was little. Drew and Ozzy also grew up together in the same town, though they went to different high schools (Drew at Noble & Greenough, Ozzy at Boston College High School) before reuniting at BC. My middle son was actually a senior at BC High when Ozzy was a freshman though they never crossed paths that I know of.
It’s going to start April 9. I will try to set up the front page in the next 2-3 days. Try to finish recruiting, etc. Anyone interested, PM me or post here
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS 1 18 Jihaad Campbell, LB - Alabama 2 35 Luther Burden III, WR - Missouri 2 41 Donovan Jackson, OG - Ohio State 3 92 Terrance Ferguson, TE - Oregon 4 137 Miles Frazier, IOL - LSU 5 172 Trevor Etienne, RB - Georgia 5 175 Dillon Gabriel, QB - Oregon 6 178 Marques Sigle, S - Kansas State 7 223 Tyler Baron, EDGE - Miami 7 234 Nick Nash, WR - San Jose State Campbell was a case of likely BPA along with "need". Do the Seahawks need a linebacker right now? No but it'd be very useful especially one that can play the edge where they could use a spark. Burden can, I'm sorry, ease the burden at WR with Metcalf and possibly Lockett gone. I expect Jackson to likely start day 1 and Frazier could surprise with his strength and consistency but is there for depth. Ferguson is expected to be the new TE1 sooner than later and Etienne can be a 3rd down or change of pace back and return kicks. Dillon Gabriel has all the traits to be a career NFL backup. Sigle, Baron and Nash are all guys with plus traits that I think could find a role in the league.
SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS 1 11 Armand Membou, OT - Missouri 2 43 Donovan Ezeiruaku, EDGE - Boston College 2 59 Alfred Collins, DT - Texas 3 100 Jared Wilson, C - Georgia 4 138 R.J. Mickens, S - Clemson 5 147 Jeffrey Bassa, LB - Oregon 5 160 Jaylin Lane, WR - Virginia Tech 7 227 Andres Borregales, K - Miami 7 249 Kitan Crawford, S - Nevada 7 252 Cam Miller, QB - North Dakota State For San Fran I felt lucky and got who I think is the top lineman in the draft and then got someone on the opposite side of the line I did not believe was going to be available. I traded up for Collins and possibly Wilson(I don't remember if he fell to me or not) to continue to build the trenches with starting calibre prospects. Mickens and Bassa are solid depth pieces that could see starting time while Crawford is also pushing for a role. Lane has high upside and could very well see quality snaps. Borregalles could replace a struggling Moody or at the least light a fire under him and Cam Miller is an interesting prospect who I think could be more than a backup if given the chance, but likely not a star.
Turns out I was off by one round on the second RB drafted, but got one of the RBs correct! IRL, Hampton was gone and IRL the Browns were so high on Judkins he was taken by them at #36. Then 3 picks after that they took their second RB, Dylan Sampson in the 4th round. I also hit on Fannin Jr for the Browns. I tried to trade down in the first round like the Browns were able to, but I had no takers. The only problem is, if I had been successful I would have blown this draft up because I would have taken Jeanty instead of Graham. At the end of the day, I think Berry and I thought a lot alike this year. Love the Browns actual draft just like I loved this mock. I liked the trade down IRL which gives his the edge. #reflectionsaturday
Good insights. I loved their RL draft too, save for maybe that seemingly great value swing at a 2nd QB late. It already looks like a distraction for Stefanski. I guess in time we’ll see how it all plays out. Part of me wishes they had truly planned on 26’ QB and spent those two QB picks on OL/DL/WR/DB somewhere. Fun fantasizing about how good that class might look.
I just don’t think they saw value in this draft class in the later rounds. I personally didn’t like this OLine or WR class. Tet is the only WR I see as a true #1 WR… then there are a bunch of different style complement receivers that dwindle in skills as the rounds ticked away. They drafted the best Dlineman in this class and the DB room is pretty full. I would like to see an upgrade at safety, but again, not a strong class for that. I think they did a great job of drafting BPA, including the QBs. The blue was just too high for Sanders at that point. That being said, watching the rookie mini camp, I’m still seeing the bad habits in footwork, lazy throws, etc.. that I think is going to doom him in the pros. I will be surprised if he makes the roster.
for the record, I do think they are “truly” planning on a ‘26 QB. I think that’s what the trade down was for. This draft is all about back up QBs. They need to find the guy that can learn the system and be a perfect backup to the QB of the future. I don’t see anyone on the roster as the future franchise guy. I doubt they do either or they wouldn’t have waited until the 3rd round.
