NFL Draft General Discussion

It's the draft process, not just a 10 second phone call to let them know they've been drafted. The list goes out when a player declares. Teams are in contact with players during the entire process. Questions can come up and they are allowed to contact them via phone as much as needed or allowed by the prospect. They can choose not to call them back, but teams have access to them. The only thing to my knowledge as far as contact is personal visits for workouts at the team's facilities. There are only 30 visits allowed. The teams can visit the player in person at their home, pro day(including before and after), at the combine, etc. If I'm a player on the fringe of any of the top 3 rounds, I'm hoping my phone is ringing non-stop, that means more than a couple of teams are interested. The top brass have a lot of responsibilities in the off-season, they definitely don't have time to call players about the draft process. They have people under them to do that.

Discretion is implied when you take a position working with public figures, that isn't just in sports.

I think your missing my point... DC's and the likes can contact ownership, GM's and HC's... If you want credibilty, just send the info (phone numbers) to the top brass, let them handle it.

If a freekin phone number, and private personal phone number is givin... it should be only to the top brass. Make owners and GM's responsible.

If Im a prospect, a phone call from the interested team would be much appreciated, but anything less than a HC or GM should raise a red flag. Just my .02.

PS; Im probably missing your point.

No, I think we just disagree. You see a celebrity that’s needs anonymity, I see a future employee that the managers need access to. When they fill out the card with their personal information on it declaring for the draft, that gives access to professional personnel to that info. It should be inaccessible, even to their family members. My family can’t access my laptop and iPad without me opening it for them, which I don’t do.

As a general manager, I can’t be the only one in my company with access to employee information like phone numbers, I would never get anything done. My job is so small compared to a professional sports team.

In our world Shedeur Sanders phone number is a huge deal, in their world, it’s just another players info to get in touch with them as needed. THEY are responsible for keeping that private. He failed, which is why he is $100,000 poorer today.

It's a 21 year old that probably finished his daddy paid undergraduate degree, who comes from family money, so little to no discipline (been around those types all my life). He is only sorry because Daddy is now having to deal with his consequences... oh no his trust fund went down by 150k to 4.85 million instead of 5 million. Give me a break, the family is only sorry because it affects daddy and his job, otherwise it would be pushed off is he was young and dumb, it's fine...

How in the world would you know any of that about that specific family history and situation? You are projecting your generalized opinion about those types on that family without warrant. Yeah, his son is an immature a-hole who just might be exactly as you described.. but the underlying reasons for that we do not know.

Makes him better than the Sanders family.

    Sounds like Shaduer.

Your assessment is fine, but I'm never gonna feel much when it happens to an arrogant, entitled jerk like Sanders. Daddy will dump on everyone and when it comes back to bite him, he throws around the old "God is just testing us". The ridiculous persecution complex that blissfully self unaware people like Deion has is laughable. He gets hate, not because of the name, but because he's an insufferable tool with a complete lack of humility.
