Depends on medical. One could have a better prognosis than the other. I’m just surprised we haven’t gotten all the details. Is his knee(s) a debilitating injury that will just continue to regress? Then it makes sense. Knees will slow down a CB. It seems Harmony shoulder is where it should be in the rehab process and won’t continue to be an issue… now, going to Pittsburgh I kinda hope it bothers him a little bit at least, lol
About Johnson, heard it’s not an issue short term. More of a progressive concern that might shorten his career. Least that’s what I read.
No comments on this yet. Fun sidenote; his name has been my password at work since at least March 1st Stayed flexible in those mocks.
The only reason I want Burden at #33 is that I actually have him as my #2 WR after McMillan. I fear more that someone can take him at 34 or 35. As for the 36 pick, I have both Henderson and Judkins rated higher than Ersery, so I’ve kinda moved past the oline train of thought after reviewing available prospects. If we don’t go RB, I hope the pick is Emmanwori. I have to agree here. I know we need to take a QB, when you don’t have one, you need to take chances and hope… we haven’t won very many fucking games on hope. I don’t see the breakout possibility prospect in this draft. I would rather wait and if Will Howard is there in the 4th, then take your project there. The players in this second round can be high contributors, I don’t see a QB with that prognosis.
I don’t disagree at all. I’m sure Indy made phone calls, but if it is detrimental to the future, you keep your assets and let the draft come to you. They did a great job of waiting it out and frankly the more I watched Loveland the closer I find them as contributors at the next level. Unless one of them go top 6-7, I wait it out too. When both lasted to ten, it looked really good that he was going to make it to them at their current pick. I don’t blame you for not trading up, now you are vindicated.
Now all that said @Duff_Beer_Doug we’ll see the Browns trade down 10 picks, take an Olineman (which is closer to where I have Ersery ranked) and a Edge rusher, completely ignoring offensive weapons, lol. Can we get another 2026 first for this pick that’s on the clock? Do we want to do that move back about 15 spots?
And let's not forget, Browns also pick at 67 all is not lost. The Rams and Saints could take a QB, more likely the Saints. So once you clear 40 and 46 at least one of the three will be sitting there top of the third. (Milroe, Shough, Sanders) If not QB you know who I also like at 67, Charles Grant. Take Henderson and Burden, build up that offensive in round 2 then protect them in round 3.
Have not seen this criticism yet. Here’s the thing about Travis Hunter; Yes he’s a unicorn. That’s the good. Here’s the bad. The NFL is a physical sport. Injuries happen all the time. This criticism is not so much for the player, and maybe not even for the team. Time will tell. But maybe just more for the pundits who act like he’s gonna save them on both sides of the ball. Like my biggest curiosity after round 1 is where is he actually playing? And how much do they think he can play the other? Or are they willing to let him do the other? I’m just making the observation that if you play him 95% of the time on offense, and expect him to play 30% + of the snaps on defense, I feel like injuries will become a regular thing soon enough.
Morning all. Well Sanders is there. I too don't like the idea of a QB at either. Agree BPA is the best thing. Not the draftnick like others, but at 33 I'd take Edge or safety. I'm not sure burden at wr is a good fit. If someone wants to come to get Sanders moving down 10-15 spots for the right price ( not sure if they can get another 1st)
I suppose that's the point. All my most likely targets are OFF the board at 34 already. So if Dart really goes off the board (and TBH I'm really not sure he does) then the Giants are sitting here with the BPA on their boards likely being and edge (which you have no stinking room for) or a WR. I think if Dart if gone and Daboll has 0 interest in Sanders you are legitimately considering in order: Will Johnson - unless that injury is REAL scary. Milroe - who probably shouldn't go this early Nick Emmanwori Mason Taylor Treveyon Henderson (fans would REVOLT but deal with it bro)
No, if they get a future first, it will be for the #33 pick, not a move down. I was not clear at all in my post. It would be either/or. First rounder or a move down, probably for a mid 2nd and maybe another 3rd.
Woooooo boy. If you could manage picking up ANOTHER 2026 first that would be something. And with pick 39 in your pocket from the earlier deal I think you could pretty readily afford it. Walking into next years draft ready to pull the trigger on a QB and with 3 firsts in your back pocket...
@xinik for whatever it’s worth, I love how the Giants handled night one. Top 4 start, in my opinion. Elite edge. And you have no reason to rush Dart out there. He can start when he’s ready.
I'm trying to decide if I actually go back and watch dart for real so I know what to expect or just "nah" and go into this arrangement entirely with fan eyes. I think the trade up was minimal enough I don't have to worry about value etc... and I think this is a significantly better result then taking a QB at #3 overall. (Giants placed one final phone call to Tennessee to see if they would make a deal hours before the draft) I feel much better about this then a lot of possible outcomes. Carter at 3 was exactly what I was hoping for. Can't be upset about that. Carter/Burns/Thib and Dexter Lawrence is probably going to be a lot of fun to watch. Giants FINALLY have an identity again. I just don't love the idea of trading back into the first for Dart because of value. Again it's fine -- if you were going to take him at 34 and you paid minimal value to make sure you got him because he is who your coach REALLY wanted I can suck it up. I am hoping Dart doesn't see the field at all this season. Wilson/Winston are supposed to save the jobs of Daboll and Schoen and I think we probably don't see Dart unless they suddenly *need* to show his promise because everything went to shit. Also I think taking him where and how they did... if the coach/front office turns over... they won't be afraid to replace him if a better option appears next year.
She definitely has that projection in interviews. Amanda Plummer is in that category for me - hell, she's probably the living definition of that category.
I get it that the Falcons paid a high price to move back into the first and get Pearce - quite likely too high a price, but they didn't have much draft capital to work with otherwise thanks to the front office's previous sins. So if some media outlet doesn't like the Pearce move, fine. But the rationale of one of the articles I've seen so far really grabbed me. It's one of the funniest and most idiotic things I've seen in quite a while. Clark Dalton at YardBarker gave the trade up for Pearce a C+ grade. His explanation? "Still, trading back into the first round for Pearce carries risk, especially after he had just 7.5 sacks in 13 games in 2024." What the what??? The Falcons haven't had *anyone* rack up 7.5 sacks in a season since 2019. That's a RISK??? This is the team that burned first rounders on the likes of Takk McKinley and Jamaal Anderson. Most Falcons fans would say that if Pearce consistently gets 7.5 sacks a year, it will be a damn good trade.
I think you jumped the shark on that one…I get the conversation and agree with the premise for sure, but Amanda Plummer doesn’t spew sexuality at any turn for me.
