I never really made my own personal big board in writing for the 1st round (weird right?)

Joe, so my board after a round.
So guess I had Will Johnson rated too high, top 10 actually, but medical pushed him down and as armchair GM we just don't know what the Doctors know.
I had Membou as my OT1, Campbell is going to get beat on the edge at the next level and kick in to LG but his character is through the roof.
I had Jihad Campbell as high as 9 dropped to 16 for medical, Eagles were trying hard to move up for him starting in the 20;s.
I don't think anyone on here has any doubts what I think of Kiper and Sanders and I will stick with that. They made asses of themselves Thursday night I don't need to get into every detail, but I had extra popcorn to savor the moments.
My SAF1 was Emmanwori for 2 reasons. My board is geared towards Pittsburgh and they had him in for a visit. I think he screams Kam Chancellor only faster. Starks had a better 2023 and actually I think his Freshman year was fantastic.
I had Henderson as my RB3, and a fringe first round grade. Again he came in for a visit so he was 24 on my board. He goes to Cleveland at top of the second. Even at his size his pass pro is good.
Like most I had Warren over Coleston, but when it came down to it , it was route running and getting in and out of breaks. Warren was more of a Gronk, Coleston is closer to Bowers, but not quite as gifted. Bowers was a lone bright spot on a shitty LV team.
I don't have the medical on Simmons, I had him at 22 over Conerly. I had Banks at 18, he played through a lot of injuries in 2024, tough kid.
Well I took Harmon in the Collaborative, we will see how that shoulder checks out. Seriously doubt Pittsburgh Doctors didn't do their due diligence.
I saw Tyleik Williams as a 2nd rounder, Lions saw it differently. Supply and demand, they needed DT and 4 went in the first 21 picks.
I have Nic Scourton as a late first, even though Shemar Stewart was higher on my board, Scourton was more productive and has those violent hands.. He is my 4th BPA at pick 33.
Even though Hairston went ahead of Amos, I had both of them rated one after another and I was off about 10 spots as to where one would go but again, I think if medically sound Will Johnson was better than both.

as it sits now for me right or wrong
    .

    Will Johnson
    Nick Emmanwori
    TreVeon Henderson
    Nic Scourton
    Mason Taylor
    Luther Burden

Man, I get the criticism I guess.. I just like this kid. I don’t know that he is going to struggle as much with separation as you do. His running style is just effortless. He made it look easy at the collegiate level and to add the contested ball skills, I think this is a home run pick.

oh… me, me. I get holes that need filled, but this is where I go back to, you can’t lose by taking the BPA.

I’m an Ohio State guy, but I have to say there is no freaking way he was BPA.. now that said, he does fill a hole and he is a heckuva player. He’ll fill that role admirably for 10 years, I just don’t see impact on the offense in this move.

I’m so freaking sick of KC… I hated New England and now I hate the Chiefs.

I was convinced they were going Safety or CB, but they as a few teams did the exact opposite of what was being spoken out loud, like a propaganda campaign... trying to keep others off balance.

IMO, they may have been thinking IOL all along, while getting Safety out there in public with Ammanwori. Seeing Booker and Zabel go before them was a huge factor also in all likeliness. Now what do they pull with minimal draft picks to deal with?

I hate quoting my own posts, but I keep coming back to my personal draft board. I said previously Burden then Henderson, but dammit, I’m actually higher on Quinshon Judkins. I’m kind of hoping he is the #36 pick. Now, the RB room is abysmal, so a Henderson at 36, then come back with Scattabo if he drops to the end of the 3rd round and I think they complement each other well.

The CAPS to drive the point home. lol

It's possible that Graham is a bigger contributor on defense, and I would agree with that lean.

As a WR - He would have been an asset, but it's something you don't get the full utility of with the current quarterback room.

The trade down to acquire capital for next year is a solid move. I'm not down on it, but I am interested to see which direction they go with the rest of this draft before jumping on board with it.

Puts me in mind of a conversation I had with a former scout. He cycled through a couple teams and came away with the same basic idea for all of them.

Every GM thinks they are winning the trade if they move up to get the player they want. Every GM that moved down thinks he's a genius if the player he wanted is still there. The fans are always going to have their opinion, and the talking heads will do the same. But it's really just a value play that everyone in the room has a different opinion on. Most coaches and the owners don't give a rat's ass about anything but the current draft, so future picks are not a consideration, for the most part. Scouts are pounding the table for their players, so they love making moves to get 'their guy'. But GMs are the ones that are wary of moving off of future picks, because they pigeonhole themselves into situations they can't get out of with no future leverage.

If he's accurate on that being the basics of it, then it tracks well with the idea that Haslam put his finger on the trade for Watson (he all but admitted it recently).

If Berry can come out of this draft with a solid enough roster to rinse the taste out of a season that may go tits up with Flacco and Pickett at the helm, then he may be in position to keep his job.

If not, then he's going to set the table for the next GM/Coach combo to come in and possibly draft their passer of the future.

Gotta see what the rest of this draft brings, but it has the framework of a wild ride for Browns' fans in 25'.

They must have really liked Jackson, or else the idea of trading back with someone like NYG and still getting him seems like a better play.

Hell, missing out on Jackson after trading down and still getting one of the available players on the board feels like a better move, IMO.

Came by to see what the draft talk was last night and stumble across this and just... couldn't let it pass.

Some people can be sexy as hell without being "conventionally pretty" I feel like she is one of those. Something about that woman and her aura makes her much more attractive then she should be. By no stretch of the imagine is she unattractive but... she's just hotter then she has any right to be for some reason.

The inverse of this can also be true. You can be real pretty and somehow just not as attractive as one would think.

Interesting. I was watching some Giants podcasters and the news that the Giants were trying to move up broke so as the teams kept letting the clock run down they figured teams were trying to work Schoen over... but really they were fielding calls from the Giants and the Eagles and were just still electing to make picks anyhow.

Well, they keep making a point on the talking head shows this morning that Jacksonville won because they got two for the price of one with Hunter… no, they gave the Browns #5, #36 and another first round talent next year… so they got maybe two for the price of three… that’s why I was adamant with those designations.

I was just digging the adrenaline surge in the discussion.

    No slander involved.

And the talking heads are going to do talking head shit. That's why I keep the lights on around here. I get more nuanced thinking and some original feedback.

The Sanders thing is weird. He clearly WANTED to be in New York. But allegedly bombed his meeting with Daboll. Giants didn't really meet with QB's much at the combine so they had a long in person private workout etc... in the meadowlands and Daboll was OUT after that. There were voices in the organization strongly pulling for him... but Daboll was apparently all he way out on him. Just sort of interesting.

The Jones career arc terrifies me to be sure. And Daboll was absolutely DONE with Jones with season. So it is curious to me the decision they made here. But I am also trying to avoid the emotional argument of "Oh good another mediocre QB with Eli Manning ties." I heard Peter Schrager talking about the pick this morning. Giants have a LOT of connections at Ole Miss and apparently have had their eyes on this kid a long time. I don't know... they won't have to rush him onto the field and he seems to have 0 problem attacking the deep part of the field which is important to Daboll. The kid will throw routes and attack parts of the field that Jones simply wouldn't do. So I am going to have to just hope Daboll can coach him up... but I tend to like QB's who do more to demonstrate the ability to process before they arrive at rookie camp...

Arch is not coming out in 2026. Basically every Manning has said it. He doesn't "need" to rush himself to the NFL and they want him to be a multi-year college starter. Manning's are apparently very worried about the lack of development for QB's at the NFL level so they want to give him the best chance of success they can -- so everyone in the family thinks it's best for him to stay in school. I think anyone banking on Arch next year is fooling themselves. Unless Texas wins a natty AND the right team is picking #1 overall -- because apparently Arch really wants to play for the championship and the Manning family apparently has a lot of opinions about where he should and should not play.

Seen some strong Copium by Giants fans this morning. The way the draft broke makes not picking at 34 seem more appealing then it did last night.

Lol, didn’t take it as such, just explaining where that adrenaline came from. Been watching it over and over and the two for one comments have irked me. The Browns could have gotten two for one IF he pans out and contributes kn both sides of the ball, but the Jags gave up a lot for him. He’s just another pick because of the lost draft ammo they no longer possess, imho.

The Browns didn’t have a choice with that offer.

If they stay at #34 and let someone else move up for Dart, the board falls the same - What two picks would you be eyeing this evening, with the Browns just in front of you?

I heard some rumours about an injury scaring teams, within the last week. Then again I heard the same about Harmon and that one didn’t come true so take it with a grain of salt.

Well, the Browns are up first and 4th. Hope we address RB, OL and/or WR with these picks today.

    @IrishDawg42
I’m with you on getting Henderson or Judkins with one of the picks. I like Treyveon a smidge better. He’s a bit more decisive when making his cut upfield and he’s a better pass blocker. Either one would be a good pick.

I’m kind of leaning toward Burden with the other pick. Not sure if they take him at #33 and grab the RB at #36. Or grab Henderson at #33 and get Burden or maybe Jayden Higgins at #36 or grab an OL.

Just please don’t grab a QB. That’s next year’s problem to address. They can’t fix it all this year. Just grab that BPA that possibly addresses a need.
