You would think it would be easy to pay someone who does a modest fee for decent advice though. You could hand me $100 USD on Feb 27th, and by March 1st I'd give you a list of floor ceiling for 250 players

I don't mind McGary as a RT... for a right handed QB. But flipping over to a lefty is a whole different story.

The articles should also remember that Atlanta used its own first rounder to take Chris Lindstrom, and I doubt any of the perfect hindsight articles are going to bash that move. They traded into the back end of the first to double up and take McGary. He was basically their 2nd+3rd round pick. Bad move? I don't think so, as he's still with the team today and still a starter. Good run blocker, which is really what they were designing the offense for and needed at RT. I'll say they've done better with McGary than with typical Falcons 2nd+3rd round combinations.

But Penix taking over as the starter changes things. And it gives me flashbacks to the nightmare 2007 season, as training camp became the first real sign that Bobby Petrino was a fucking idiot.

GM Rich McKay and former coach Jim Mora Jr had built the OL with the best pass protection on the right side, since Vick was a lefty. Petrino KNEW he'd be without Vick for at least the first four games of the season (owner Arthur Blank had already announced that suspension) but made no adjustments to the OL. By design he had the oldest man on the roster (Wayne Gandy) at LT and a first game rookie (Justin Blalock) at LG to protect Joey Harrington's blind side. Result: 13 sacks in the first two games.

    The whole left-right thing matters...

Just for fun... here's what Atlanta got from their 2nd+3rd rounders in the two drafts before trading up for McGary and in the two drafts after that...

2017: LB Duke Riley (bust) + pick used to trade up in the first for edge Takk McKinley (bust)
2018: CB Isaiah Oliver (career reserve) + DT Deadrin Senat (bust)
(2019: both picks used to take McGary in the first round)
2020: DT Marlon Davidson (career wrecked by injury) + C Matt Hennessy (bust)
2021: S Richie Grant (misused, lost starting job, just left via free agency) + OT Jalen Mayfield (bust)

McGary is the only one of the bunch still on the roster, which shows why Thomas Dimitroff was way overrated as a GM. 2021 was Terry Fontenot (and Mayfield was an epic flop), but the rest were Dimitroff.

Funny thing is I offered something near identical to the Jets beforehand. Bad copy/paste edit on my part

I agree on the deep class theory, but Jeanty and Hampton are in a different class. After that, there are 3 others that I am still very high on, then another group of 5-6 on another tier. But deep is a great word for the class. It's just after the first couple of tiers, they are committee backs, good committee backs, but still.

I run Profootball Network the most, (5-10 a week) at the end you can paste your results on here. What I like is they are realistic trades and every time you run it is different, it makes you think and adjust.

PFF sucks ass, not just any ass, they suck the shit out of a Giraffe. They reach high up their after they pass their ego on the step ladder and suck away with a Cusco Vacuum Tanker. I find they totally go with HWS and never look at character issues. I have a few WR I already threw off my board because they are chucklefucks, or chuckfucklers.

NFL MDB is ok, but yeah trades are not in alignment with the Trade Value Chart, which of course is not a bible, but a fair guide to realistic deals.

Just read a 3 round mock on The Athletic, it made the most sense out of all the mocks I read this week. Their board by position is a neat feature that you can see all the metrics before clicking on a prospect to divulge further. I paid 2 bucks for a month, then I will probably cancel until next April if they run a special again. In that mock they grabbed blue chip players at the top in round one, then went QB in the second round that were graded that way.

The issue with Draftbuzz is they let you run one sim, then you have to use another Email address to run another. At this point I have created 4 emails I will never use, but I like Free Shit.

Dallas would be open to moving down. I will give it until around 12:45 then I will pick.

Seahawks just chilling for now. We already traded up a couple spots in the 1st so we're in no hurry to waste picks. Might trade down with 1 of my two picks later.

  18. Torgo M.V.P. Manager Falcons

Fits my thinking almost exactly, with the only exception being that I call them "system fit choices" rather than "committee backs".

Not all of them are straight committee guys too. Just lower odds of success.

    FYI

We've moved into half hour timeslots. Just so everyone takes note.

    Looking at you currently @Sbrabo26

Just kinda means we gotta be slightly more efficient, or ahead of the curve if trying to negotiate trades.

I'm on deck, so I don't mind if you run 5 or so minutes into my time Stephen. Got my guy all picked out.
