System fit is super important. That is why I have Harmon ahead of Nolen, Steelers really focus on a body type, and go back to 2009 and Ziggy Hood, he was not a match and IMHO currently neither was Larry Ogunjobi. Here are the guys Pittsburgh historically had as productive DEs Aaron Smith, Kimo Von Olhoffen, Brett Keisel, Cam Heyward, Stephon Tuitt. Taller guys with arm length. Sophomore slump for Keanu Benton, jury is still out, but he plays in the middle. I think Pittsburgh could kick him outside and a guy like Kenneth Grant comes in and clogs up the middle. They have not been dominant since Casey Hampton retired. Guys like Shemar Stewart are gong to be great in a 4-3, just no spot for him with The Steelers in their base 3-4 or 2-4-5 This is why I wondered why they brought in Preston Smith, similar body type. Darius Alexander makes a ton of sense, but he routinely goes in the 40's and Pittsburgh traded away pick #53 to get DK Metcalf. There are a couple more DT5 guys on the board, I won't discuss them, but some are fits, some are not. The reason Pittsburgh led the league in sacks several times wasn't just because of Watt and Highsmith. Heyward usually gives you around 10 when fully healthy. They need 35 year old Heyward's replacement and they never really replaced Tuitt, who unfortunately lost interest in football after his brother passed away.

Reports are coming in and the betting odds are increasing that Abdul Carter will be the second pick of the Draft by the Browns... Carter had dinner last night with Browns owner Jimmy Haslam, General Manager Andrew Berry, Executive Vice President JW Johnson and other team officials, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Its at the least his second visit. Here's what really going on, IMO... Carter is just bilking them for some free elaborate food, period. He's smart man.

I was looking at Logan Brown, then I had a red question mark and had to go back and read. Dismissed from Wisconsin when he was younger, rotational player up until 2024. Played well at RT maybe all that crap is behind him and we don't know because we don't have the ability to interview. The tackle position is right behind QB as in you better have depth. Most of us are not in the medical field or have access to records so we rely on games we watched and then whatever tape we can find. Then it goes back to who do you trust as a NFL talent evaluator to give you the breakdown and grade. I like reading from a lot of sources, and the issue with YouTube is it's all highlights, some of these guys have shitty games and take plays off so that could be misleading. There is a WR with talent this year, but a fellow poster on Steelers Depot said the kid is a chucklefuck, or chuckfuckler, can't remember which. So then I read up and removed him off my board. I still had Logan Brown on my board only because Steelers need to replace Dan Moore Jr. especially if Broderick Jones doesn't play well at LT.

Since I have Miami's list, we'll give @StlCrtn all the way to the wire on Shane's.

Personally I think (assuming Cam goes 1) that they will take Carter.

Imagine trying to defend Garrett and Carter. Now imagine they spend a 4th-ish rounder on a disruptive DT to boot. Game-planning would not be easy for AFC North OCs

Edit: I also happen to be lower on Shedeur than many. Don’t see a franchise elevating QB, personally.

If they choose this path and win 4 games the entire front office and coaching staff will likely be cleaned out.

I hate admitting measurables scared me off. I’ve wanted to take him numerous times. Every Miami game I’ve seen this kid is making plays.
But his 40 was terrible. Especially since size isn’t where he makes his bread. Was it a fluke?
I think the Rams would be a decent landing spot, because their scheme can free guys up in space as well as any. I hope he works out, honestly.
    Kid’s a gamer.
