Got to give Kiper credit for what he did for the “draft industry” and he does put in work. I used to LOVE watching Kiper like 20 years ago.
Kiper may have revolutionized how to look at draft data, but man he lost his touch around the 2007 draft class.
Ever seen the movie Two For The Money? It all goes to shit when you think you’ve become smarter than everyone else and can put it on cruise control. Kiper LOVED watching tape and running numbers and trying to be a couch GM… then it became a job with deadlines and needing to keep draftniks happy for 4 months out of the year instead of just preparing for the draft. He had to become a clickbait master…
I think thats a key point. There became so much competition with various networks with sky-high cash involved, let alone ratings, people started becoming click-bait fanatics to try and outnumber all the comp. Even job security is involved if your not controversial enough to draw attention.
I sure screwed my draft up. Had only 4 picks. Should have traded my 1st rounder back for an additional pick. Somebody smack me!
Likely no one would pay up anyways. Things might loosen up soon, but so far partners trying to move up have been hard to come by
The two players I was hoping would fall here didn't make it so I'm switching to the backup plan and taking Tate Ratledge, guard from Georgia.
I didn't see this in time or else we would have had a deal. I don't think I was in danger of someone taking Tate.
His rankings are starting to bounce around a bit too. He’ll never lead the league in sacks. But he’s a damn good player.
