Agreed. I find it strange that all the higher-ups in Seattle were just saying recently that Geno was their man and they could win a Championship with him... then he goes to the Raiders... you cant believe anything you hear these days. Now maybe they go hard on Darnold, as I dont see him signing in Minnesota with the potential of more money looming than what the Vikings want to give him.
Sources: Josh Allen, Bills reach record 6-year, $330M deal The Buffalo Bills and quarterback Josh Allen have reached agreement on a record-setting six-year, $330 million contract through the 2030 season that includes $250 million guaranteed, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Sunday. It the largest guaranteed total ever given to an NFL player. Allen, the NFL's MVP for 2024, became the first player in NFL history to record at least 25 touchdown passes, 10 touchdown runs and fewer than 10 interceptions in a season. He finished with 28 touchdown passes, 12 rushing touchdowns and 6 interceptions. His 119.6 passer rating was the fourth highest in NFL history and trailed only Aaron Rodgers (122.5 in 2011 and 121.5 in 2020) and Manning (121.1 in 2004). Rodgers and Manning won MVP in those seasons. He has led the Bills to six consecutive AFC East titles. ESPN
Steelers considering signing Aaron Rodgers Aaron Rodgers is under consideration to be the starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2025. Rodgers has emerged as a quarterback option in Pittsburgh and the two are expected to talk about the possibility, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. The Jets are moving on from Rodgers after two highly disappointing seasons, but he wants to keep playing and the Steelers are in need of a quarterback. It’s possible that the two sides could come to an agreement. Justin Fields and Russell Wilson, who played quarterback for the Steelers last year, both become free agents this week. The Steelers haven’t ruled out bringing one of them back, but there’s little doubt that they’d prefer to upgrade at the position. The question is whether Rodgers at age 41 actually constitutes an upgrade. He’s a four-time league MVP, but he hasn’t played at an MVP level in the last three seasons. PFT
Sam Darnold agrees to three-year deal with Seahawks Darnold has agreed to a three-year deal with the Seahawks, according to multiple reports. The value of the contract is different from different reports. NFL Media notes Darnold’s deal is worth nearly $100 million while ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Darnold will earn $110.5 million with $55 million guaranteed. After the Seahawks traded Geno Smith to the Raiders late last week, it was widely believed that Darnold would end up with Seattle. PFT
According to multiple reports, Justin Fields has agreed to a two-year deal with the Jets. The initial reports indicate Fields’ deal is worth $40 million with $30 million guaranteed.
Kenny Pickett is headed back to the AFC North. The Eagles have agreed to trade Pickett to the Browns, according to multiple reports. Philadelphia will receive quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson and a 2025 fifth-round pick in exchange for Pickett.
With Justin Fields agreeing to terms with the Jets and Sam Darnold poised to sign with the Seahawks, the Steelers don’t have many viable veteran quarterback options. The Steelers began talking to quarterback Aaron Rodgers several days ago. With mounting indications that Fields would be leaving, the process accelerated. Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the Steelers and Rodgers could have an agreement in place as soon as Tuesday. He won’t be able to sign until Wednesday, when the Jets release him. There’s still a chance the Giants could pilfer Rodgers. If they make him a much richer offer, he might jump on the chance to stay in New York. One big factor comes from Rodgers’s desire to play two more years. If he picks the Giants, and if the Giants fail to make it to the playoffs in 2025, co-owner John Mara could clean house in 2026. A new G.M. and a new head coach could result in the same decision the other New York team made this year — a decision to move on from Rodgers. In Pittsburgh, Rodgers is far more likely to get a second season. And he’s far more likely to return to the postseason for the first time since 2022. PFT
Daniel Jones chooses the Colts on a one-year, $14 million deal Via multiple reports, Daniel Jones has agreed to terms with the Colts. It’s a one-year, $14 million deal. On Monday, Sam Darnold agreed to terms with the Giants, and Nick Mullens reach an agreement with the Jaguars. The low-money deal for Jones (relative to the current market) doesn’t scream “starter.” He’ll be competing with Anthony Richardson, based on comments made by G.M. Chris Ballard at the Scouting Combine. (It’s also impossible to rule out a Richardson trade at this point.)
Marcus Mariota will be back with the Commanders in 2025. According to multiple reports, Mariota has agreed to a one-year deal with Washington to continue to backup quarterback Jayden Daniels. Mariota’s deal is reportedly worth $8 million. Mariota, 31, appeared in three games for Washington last season. He completed 34-of-44 passes for 364 yards with four touchdowns and no picks. While he was in for mop-up duty against the Browns, he had significant playing time in the Week 7 win over the Panthers and Week 18 victory over Dallas. PFT ________ _________________ Sure wished the Vikings would have scooped him up. Now Im squirming while waiting to see where Rodgers lands.
So apparently the Pittsburgh Steelers have made an offer to Aaron Rodgers to be the QB1 for the Black & Gold. Rodgers then proceeds to leave everybody hanging. Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette said this... Apparently, the delay in the Aaron Rodgers discussion with the Steelers is not about money. The offer has been made. It's about Rodgers taking his good ol' time about making a decision. _______ Then Gerry Dulac said this... “It’s possible Russell Wilson could return to the Steelers if ongoing discussions with Aaron Rodgers fail to result in a financial agreement, per multiple sources.” _______ Bottom line, In my opinion... It is all about the money and Rodgers will bilk this and buy time for the purpose of sweetening the offer from Pittsburgh and to see if another team like the Giants or Vikings, maybe Browns get involved for more money than what Pittsburgh offered him. Rodgers is all about Rodgers, drama queen extraordinaire. I think his good days are far gone and he's brittle... 1 good hit and he's on the stretcher headed to the nearest hospital, who would invest in that? If Rodgers was smart, he'd pounce on the Steelers offer, but I dont think smart and Rodgers should be in the same sentence.
Mason Rudolph agrees to contract with Steelers The Steelers are waiting on word from Aaron Rodgers about his plans for 2025, but they have reached an agreement on a contract with another quarterback that they know well. NFL Media reports that Mason Rudolph has agreed to a two-year deal to return to the Steelers. Rudolph was with the team from 2018 to 2023 and spent last season with the Titans. The deal is worth $8 million and likely sets Rudolph up to back up Rodgers, Russell Wilson or anyone else the Steelers acquire with the intention of making them their starting quarterback. There is $4.5 million in guaranteed money in the deal. Rudolph started five games for the Titans last season and he made 14 starts during his first stint with the Steelers, including a playoff loss to the Bills after the 2023 season. PFT
C'Mon Steelers and Rodgers, get it done!!! If Rodgers lands in Minnesota i will definitely have one hell of a psychotic reaction!
If we don’t hear reports of the Titans pursuing Aaron Rodger’s, I’m going with the assumption that they are taking Cam Ward with that first pick.
