I still think that for a better product (AKA Mahomes doesn't get hit when hurt) the NFL made the grass slipperier a few years back so an injured Mahomes wouldn't get edge rushed and crippled like Purdy and make it not a game. Chiefs had no problem as their strength was rushing up the gut. Eagles use the same field but the league added extra rye seed late in the process and it makes it more slippery. I would love a revenge game. Nothing was better than beating the Pats when we wanted revenge for what I'm sure was a Spygate SB win. Evidence and testimonies that came out years later were swept under the rug after less than 1 news cycle. Nobody cared at that point.

Personally I think he burned too many bridges on his way out of Miami. They will continue to interview for appearance, but my opinion is that he is unofficially black balled.. oh by the way, I also think he got one helluva raw deal in Miami.

Chiefs rule out Mecole Hardman for season

Per Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid confirmed Hardman will miss remaining on injured reserve through the postseason.

“Chiefs coach Andy Reid tells reporters that WR Mecole Hardman, who was attempting to return off IR after a knee injury, will remain there and won’t play again this season,” Rapoport posted on X.

The Bills are 4-3 against the Chiefs in their last seven games, however those three losses have all come in the playoffs.

If Jalen Hurts runs, the Commanders plan to hit him like a running back

The Eagles offense has a running back who can take the ball all the way to the end zone. On Sunday, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts went 44 yards on the ground for a touchdown.

On Thursday, Commanders defensive coordinator Joe Whitt Jr. had a blunt assessment of how his players intend to approach Hurts if/when he chooses to become a runner.

“The one thing is, is if he’s gonna run the ball and the coordinator makes a decision for him to run the ball, we’re gonna treat him like a running back,” Whitt told reporters. “And we’re gonna hit him that way. You know, so that’s their decision if they wanna get him hit the way he gets hit. If they don’t, they’ll keep him in the pocket. So that’s what we’re gonna do.”

Im not thinking the Eagles are scared, and the Commanders really need to focus on Saquon.

Just on observation in watching the Eagles is that they're one of the more physical teams I've seen in a while. They're tough on OL and DL. Should be a good game.

This is what makes champions... the trenches. Eagles are good in the trenches on both sides of the ball. I do like the Commanders offensive line also, they aint chumps... their big and talented or Daniels would be toast by now. Couldnt agree with you more.

I agree, they def beat up on teams, tho gotta say, it feels like the score board often doesnt reflect that in the way it should. Been thinking about why for a while, my two cents is Hurts has pretty low key not been great as a passer lately. Too many drives stalling that shouldn't allowing teams to hang around sometimes. That would be a v dangerous thing to do with the Commanders.

I don't know Willie... Daniels might just be a tough SOB.. He was sacked the 6th most of any QB in the NFL this season at 47 sacks.

Caleb Williams 68 sacks on 562 drop backs, sack every 8.26 drop backs
CJ Stroud 52 sacks on 532 drop backs, sack every 10.23 drop backs
Geno Smith 50 sacks on 578 drop backs, sack every 11.56 drop backs
Sam Darnold 48 sacks on 545 drop backs, sack every 11.35 drop backs
Joe Burrow 48 sacks on 652 drop backs, sack every 13.58 drop backs

Jayden Daniels 47 sacks on 480 drop backs, sack every 10.21 drop backs

52 less drop backs than the next closest QB on this list. Had he dropped back 562 times, like Williams, maybe we would be talking about a different Commanders team.

It could come down to play calling and not abandoning the run, no matter what.

Commanders had one of the top rushing teams in the league...Bears, Texans, Seahawks, Vikings and Bengals did not...

    Yes he was, but...

At the same time their pass protection may have not been that great... WR's may have been covered, but when it comes to clearing a hole and the run game the Commanders did very well (3rd in the NFL).

Dallas Goedert says he’s playing on Sunday

Tight end Dallas Goedert plans to be on the field as the Eagles try to advance to their second Super Bowl in the last three years.
Goedert missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday because of an ankle injury, but reporters at the open portion of Friday’s practice said that he was back on the field. After practice, Goedert told those reporters that he will be playing against the Commanders in Sunday’s NFC Championship Game.

Goedert had eight catches for 103 yards and a touchdown in the playoff wins over the Packers and Rams.

Center Cam Jurgens (back) also missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday before being spotted on the field Friday. The official status of both players will be revealed when the team releases its final injury report of the week.

Yes, they did… That’s true they were 3rd, they also ran the ball a shit ton. They are one of 6 teams that rushed over 500 times on the year. 526. They were in the top 3 in rushing AND not surprisingly, they as well as the two above them, Ravens and Eagles, all have rushing QBs that raise every stat in rushing to their advantage. Take away all QB rushing and the Commanders fall to the middle of the pack. Obviously, QB stats count, so we can’t do that, but we all know a lot of those QB yards are due to the QB and not nearly as much about the line. Hell, they had a rookie college guard starting at tackle for them… the one major addition they did have was veteran guard Tyler Biadasz (Italian for Badass). The line ranked 31st over the final 4 games of the season…

This offense really is Jayden Daniels. My question is, how long can he keep up literally carrying them?

NFL fines Marlon Humphrey $45,020 for hit on Josh Allen that wasn’t flagged

Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey delivered a helmet-to-helmet hit on Bills quarterback Josh Allen during the second quarter on Sunday. The officials didn’t see it, but the league’s disciplinary process did.

Humphrey was fined $45,020 for the hit, the league announced today. Officially, the NFL called it “Unnecessary Roughness (use of the helmet).”

The hit was a blatant example of the kind of helmet-to-helmet hits that the league is trying to take out of the game, and was called out on the CBS broadcast. The officials should have seen it.

I specifically remember that hit and was quite surprised (well, at first then thought hell, status quo for the zebras) that no one in stripes seen it. What I really dug about it was the fact it pissed off Allen and on the very next play, he called his own number and drove right into the endzone. It was a beauty of a play and made a huge statement.

Jameson Williams was fined ($25,235) for screwing the field after he scored a TD. Im glad, but wished it was more. I was totally embarrassed and pissed at his childish actions. Ida kicked him in the ballz!... would got a $50K fine and suspended, but I would have been proud of it.

Commanders rule out defensive tackle Daron Payne vs. Eagles

ASHBURN, Va. -- The Washington Commanders ruled out defensive tackle Daron Payne on Saturday, costing them a key part of their defense heading into the NFC Championship Game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

His absence will also make it harder to accomplish the Commanders' main goal against Philadelphia on Sunday: containing running back Saquon Barkley.
