Titans to hire Mike Borgonzi as their General Manager The Titans have found their new General Manager. Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that they will hire Chiefs assistant G.M. Mike Borgonzi, who was one of six candidates to have a second interview with the team this week. The Titans fired Ran Carthon last week after two years on the job. Borgonzi has worked for the Chiefs since 2009 and worked his way up the personnel department after starting as a scout. He will work with president of football operations Chad Brinker with the Titans and Brinker is set to have “final authority on all football matters” in Tennessee. One of the first big decisions the duo will be making is what to do with the first overall pick in the draft. That choice will have a big hand in setting the tone for Borgonzi’s tenure in Tennessee. per; PFT

The Colts made their hire of Lou Anarumo as their new defensive coordinator official on Tuesday. Anarumo joins the Colts after serving as the Bengals’ defensive coordinator the past six seasons. He brings 36 years of coaching experience to Indianapolis and has an extensive background coaching defensive backs. “I’m thrilled to add Lou Anarumo as our defensive coordinator,” Colts head coach Shane Steichen said in a statement. “With many years of coaching experience, Lou is a proven leader who will demand the best out of our players. His strategic mindset and unique scheme will be invaluable as we build a fast and disciplined defensive unit.” Anarumo spent seven seasons as a defensive backs coach for the Dolphins (2012-2017) and Giants (2018) before landing in Cincinnati. He also served as the Dolphins’ interim defensive coordinator in 2015 under interim head coach Dan Campbell. Before making the jump to the NFL in 2012, Anarumo coached at the college level for 23 years. PFT
The Jaguars are really going to hire Saleh just to continue the destruction of Trevor's career, aren't they?
lol. I was just reading about this on Yardbarker, who was quoting from the Tampa Bay Times, that Liam Coen has a second interview scheduled for tomorrow, along with Raiders defensive coordinator Patrick Graham on Thursday and former Jets coach Robert Saleh on Friday, all 3 with their second interviews. Of the 3, Id go Coen, but hey, having said that, Khan and Baalke will go Selah.
I'd reluctantly go Coen. Like what he has done in Tampa, but it feels like there is a ceiling to what he can get done. JAC needs to go collegiate, hire an entire new staff, and make it clear to Baalke that his role is strictly to gather information on talent and negotiate on behalf of the organization with players. There needs to be a coach in place that can draft and sign to craft his own vision over the course of the next 5 years. It's the bulk of Trevor's contract to his age 30 season. This hire has to center around Lawrence and building an offensive scheme to maximize the return on that contract. If not, then what the fuck are they actually doing?
Thats perfect and makes too much sense (your whole post did and the vid). Im not sure the higherups in Jax have the ballz or mental capabilities to do something smart and creative based on their recent track-record.
I feel like they are destined to do another recycle with a coach that shouldn't be in charge of righting the ship.
Unfortunately, your probably right. Maybe they surprise us and have learned Trevor needs support and the whole scheme starts at the top and trickles down through a good and competent staff for the players on the field. Be nice if Trevor doesnt get injured also.
BREAKING... The multiple teams who were interested in trading for Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell are SOL. The Vikings have announced that O’Connell and the team have reached a deal on a “multiyear” extension. O’Connell said in a statement that it is an “absolute honor” to coach the team. “Holding this prestigious position is something I never take for granted, and I want to express my sincere gratitude to the Wilf family for their unwavering belief in what we are building together. I also want to thank Leah and our incredible children; their love and support allow me to perform this job at a high level,” O’Connell said. “And none of this would be possible without the dedication of our coaches, players and support staff. I can’t wait to get back to work with all of them as we continue to build upon the high standard we’ve set and the positive environment we’ve created. “To Vikings fans, you are the best in the NFL. There is no greater joy than leading our team in front of you each Sunday and experiencing the home-field advantage you create. I’m thrilled for the years ahead.” Vikings owner Zygi Wilf shared O’Connell’s enthusiasm. “There is no question this team is on the right trajectory under Kevin’s continued leadership,” Wilf said. “His authenticity, passion and positive energy, along with his impressive understanding of the game, has helped lead to the success we’ve experienced over the past three years and will be foundational blocks on which to build moving forward.” Vikings owner Mark Wilf agreed. “Kevin is exactly who we believed him to be when we named him as our head coach — an innovative play caller, an excellent communicator and a strong leader who motivates and connects with his players,” he said. “He has helped establish a culture that positions us for sustained success, and he will continue to set the standard we need as we pursue a championship for Vikings fans.” O’Connell signed a four-year contract when he became the coach three years ago. There was consternation from his perspective when he didn’t get a new deal after the 2023 season. That resulted in a Week 18 report from Jay Glazer of Fox that multiple teams were interested in trading for O’Connell. Getting the deal done became the first order of offseason business for the Vikings. Monday’s deal between the Bears and new coach Ben Johnson, believed to be worth $13 million per year, might have been the kick that both sides needed to give them the right focus to finalize the contract. With a 14-3 record in 2024, O’Connell is the first coach in franchise history with multiple 13-win seasons. From the perspective of the team’s fans, there’s one other item of unfinished 60-year business they hope is coming soon. The terms of the agreement were not announced by the team. PFT/VIKINGS.com
The Patriots interviewed Josh McDaniels on Tuesday. Not surprisingly, they are expected to hire McDaniels as their offensive coordinator, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports.
