Is Tomlin begging them to score more than 30?? Hey Mike, you’re down by 14 and they’re in field goal range, let the clock run out, the seasons over, just make sure to turn the lights out when you leave the building
Ok, season ended on a 5 game losing streak. No QBs under contract. Most other teams that would mean HC would be fired. That ain’t happening unless he decides to walk away this season. His seat needs to be a lot hotter
Unfortunately, not going to happen, the Rooneys don’t fire their coaches, wish we could trade him for a #1 pick like other teams have done
Meh. I don't even care. The last month has numbed me. I'm immune to it now. I wish I could say I have fresh hope for next year. "The Standard is the Standard"! 9-8. Coming soon to a stadium near you.
I doubt it. He has a no trade clause. Why would he voluntarily leave? Idk, I need to step away cause I’m way too frustrated with this team to think rationally.
Exactly so why would he waive the no trade clause? He’s got job security that should be running out. Probably should’ve run out a few years ago, but I foolishly believed it was the OC.
I've been a Tomlin advocate, but it's getting to the point that something's gotta give. Both sides must realize that it's all hands on deck to fix that offense. Everything they do this offseason must be focused on that. If they devote their energies to that and Tomlin fails to cash in, then it's time to part ways. However, I'm not sure of the dynamics of the Steelers personnel decisions and, despite assertions of the fan base, I doubt too many really are. I say that because it's become very clear that the Steelers "cheap out" on the offensive side of the ball and if Tomlin is hindered by that, even though, perhaps, he wants to spend money in that area, then the FO needs to drag themselves into this decade of football philosophy. The Steelers play and assemble their roster in a close to the vest manner. They're so scared to make a mistake that they fail to realize that's a mistake in itself. Meanwhile, I sit here and watch the Bills and I salivate over Josh Allen and wonder why the Steelers can't find that talent if Khan is such a wizard.
Turning point was the Pickens OPI aka the push off . Couldn’t stop Henry or Jackson need a big mamu in the middle. Doing a mock with DT Grant Michigan
IMHFO FUCK California until they fund North Carolina properly Let’s take care of blue collar America before we fund millionaires . I have zero Issues with SC and helping fire victims but keep it fair and don’t prioritize communities based on property value or political affiliation.
I’ve been a Tomlin fan as well, but I’m with you that something has to give. They’ve changed damn near every coach, changed the players, even changed the GM. Only one constant left. Thoughts a couple days later: Bye Larry O and Donte Jackson. Maybe a little more harsh on Jackson but sure looked like a lack of effort, but I suppose that could be attributed to his back. That said, I would’ve rather sat him and played Trice. Maybe the young CB gets burnt but his effort has never been in question. Minkah and TJ Watt did not play to their contracts this season for the most part. Watt had some nagging injuries and still led the league in forced fumbles so I’ve got a lot more patience with him. Minkah seemed to be a problem in the secondary, I don’t know if he was trying to cover other defenders mistakes but he seemed out of position a lot this season. Bye Sutton, that was a huge whiff bringing him back especially with his PR. Russ Wilson ain’t worth $30 million, so if that’s the price let him go and sign Fields. Bye Dan Moore, enjoyed his toughness and attitude and genuinely seems like a good guy. But didn’t even notice when he left the game. His play was no different from the backup. Broderick Jones is officially on notice too, horrible season for him. Hope his health along with a new OL coach and new position all means leads to him being the player they drafted in round 1. As the leader of the Najee Harris fan club, I wish him well. Doubt he returns, though I wouldn’t object provided the split between him and Warren is closer to 50/50. Cam Heyward: the entire team owes him an apology, every snap he gives 110% and most of the rest of his team acted like it’s a walk through was pathetic. Roberts is excluded, that guy showed up as well and brought it. Last one for now: I’d be ok bringing Van Jefferson back, but certainly not as the #2. Maybe 3 or 4 depending on how the off season shakes out.
Maybe a little of both. I do think the nagging injuries played a role to his season. But I also can’t ignore that he disappeared for weeks. But he led the league in forced fumbles, so I don’t think he’s too far down that downside.
When the other team doubles your time of possession your defense is going to be gassed and their will broken. The best way to beat Jackson is to keep him off the field. Wilson never got to his second read, too many punts, this was a nail in the coffin. ROOTING FOR BUFFALO
Both correct IMHO, but my biggest gripe is the early starts and arm bars the opposing RTs seemed to get all year. Steelers would have still lost but the facemask on Warren was a huge miss, naturally they caught Pickens with the push, because Harbawl warned them.
Not that it explains all those arm bars and other maulings RTs are seemingly able to get away with, one of TJs main moves is a rip and in the rules if the defender rips, those egregious looking holds are legal. I know Beach posted about it on a thread, Steelers Depot posted an article on it couple months ago which is the only reason I know it lol doesn’t explain all of them, but at least somewhat explains why they are slow to throw the flag.
