I doubt thats a worry of his. He needs to be better in LA and I think he will be. Maybe teams on the look will look at the whole picture, just not what happened in Detroit. The entire League knows the Lions are for real.

49ers' Ricky Pearsall wants to meet teen who shot him: 'I have to be able to forgive him'

Pearsall was shot by a 17-year-old just before his rookie season was set to begin

San Francisco 49ers rookie wide receiver Rick Pearsall hopes to make a positive impact on the teenager who shot him in August. Pearsall was shot by a 17-year-old in an attempted robbery at Union Square, and the 49ers wideout wants to make sure the young man is able to get his life back on the right path.

On locker cleanout day for the 49ers, Pearsall was asked about potentially meeting the person who nearly killed him shortly before he was set to make his NFL debut. Pearsall said he would like to speak with the teen and try to make a difference in his life.

"At some point, I do want to talk to the kid," Pearsall said, per KNBR, a Bay Area radio station. "If I can create an impact on him in any way, I think that will be really big. I'd be definitely open to doing that for sure."

Pearsall doesn't seem to harbor any ill will toward his shooter, saying he doesn't know what led the 17-year-old to commit such a violent crime. Pearsall added he can't judge a person based on a single action.

"Sometimes, you just don't got answers for that," Pearsall said. "I don't know where he came from, what environment he grew up in. ... I don't know how he grew up, so I can't judge him as a man based off that one action. As violent a crime as it was, God forbid him doing that to someone else. I don't ever want that to happen."

In addition to helping the young man, Pearsall also wants to be able to forgive his shooter directly.

"For me, it's just being able to forgive him," Pearsall said. "I have to be able to forgive him to have that weight off my chest, you know what I mean?"

The gunshot wound forced Pearsall to delay his NFL debut by about six weeks, but it didn't deter the first-round pick from getting back on the field. Pearsall played his first NFL game on Oct. 20, and he finished the season with 31 catches for 400 yards and three touchdowns.

NFL monitoring Los Angeles-area wildfires ahead of Vikings-Rams playoff game

A spokesperson from the Rams says any decision about the game will come from the NFL.

With devastating wildfires raging in the Los Angeles area, the National Football League is monitoring the situation in advance of Monday night's playoff game between the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Rams, which is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT at SoFi Stadium.

NFL chief spokesman Brian McCarthy says the league "continues to closely monitor developments in the area and will remain in contact with both clubs and the NFLPA."

SoFi Stadium is located in southwest Los Angeles, about 10 miles from the Palisades Fire that has devastated parts of Santa Monica. Another fire, known as the Eaton Fire, is about 17 miles to the northeast of the stadium wreaking havoc in the Pasadena area.

A spokesperson from the Rams told Vikings On SI that "any news about changes to the game would come from the NFL."

The Los Angeles County Fire Department announced at 10:55 a.m. CT Wednesday that both the Palisades and Eaton fires are 0% contained as firefighters battle relentless winds that are gusting to tropical storm and hurricane levels, helping the fires spread rapidly amid extremely dry conditions.

According to Minnesota-based Bring Me The News meteorologist Sven Sundgaard, "conditions improve in terms of wind, temps & humidity by end of week to allow for containment of fires likely."

NFL monitoring L.A. wildfires, names contingency site for Vikings-Rams

LOS ANGELES -- As wildfires continue to devastate several areas across Los Angeles, causing thousands to evacuate and impacting air quality, the NFL said it is monitoring the situation's potential impact on Monday night's wild-card playoff game between the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium and has a contingency plan that involves moving the game to Arizona should the need arise.

In a statement Wednesday evening, the NFL said it continues to prepare for the game to be played at SoFi Stadium, but if it had to be moved, it would take place Monday night at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, the home of the Arizona Cardinals.

"As with all games, there are contingency plans in the event a change in location is needed," the league said in its statement.

Let Sam Darnold go to the Giants Malik Nabor( sp ) he needs a qb and make them pay the Giants stud D-line man and a couple of draft picks would they really do it they do need a qb

I don't think Sam Darnold would "choose" the Giants. I think he will have multiple suitors, but I think the Vikings will make a competitive enough offer to keep him. A lot depends on the next few weeks. If he shits the bed this week ala Detroit, then all bets are off. He will be facing another off season of premium back up offers. If he wins this week, has a nice game, he will show that Detroit was a fluke and he is right back into a nice situation this off season. If he wins the next two weeks, then he will be in the drivers seat with multiple offers that might write the Vikings out. So much depends on these next 2-3 weeks.

This coaching staff needs to have a much better game plan week two (if they get past the Rams) against the Lions. If Darnold manages to beat the Lions, then the Vikings might go all in on him and forget about the high draft pick in JJ McCarthy.

Hell, If Darnold wins out, the Vikings can trade JJ McCarthy, lol. I like what you said... there is a whole lot riding on the game vs the Rams, present and future.

Rams: Playoff game vs. Vikings remains scheduled for Monday night in Los Angeles

With wildfires raging in Los Angeles, the NFL announced on Wednesday that, if necessary, the wild card matchup between the Rams and Vikings will move to State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.

The Rams released a statement on Thursday noting that the game remains scheduled to be played at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood.

“The safety of the Los Angeles community is our top priority, and our thoughts are with everyone affected by the fires in the area,” the statement reads. “We are grateful for the tireless efforts of first responders who continue to protect our city and community as well as individuals who continue to help our neighbors in need.

“As of now, the Wild Card playoff game featuring your Los Angeles Rams and the Minnesota Vikings remains scheduled to be played at SoFi Stadium on Monday night at 5 p.m. PT. As with all games, the NFL has contingency plans in the event a change in location is needed due to the tragic fires in our region. If the NFL decides a change in location is needed, the game would be played on Monday night at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ. That is currently only a contingency plan and if that happens we will inform all ticket holders via email what that means for their current tickets.

“We will continue to monitor the situation closely and remain in contact with local officials, the NFL and NFLPA.”

OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Lamar Jackson will be without his top target at the start of the postseason.

Pro Bowl wide receiver Zay Flowers was ruled out for the Baltimore Ravens' wild-card game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday night. Flowers injured his right knee in Saturday's regular-season finale and did not practice all week.

Sean McVay: We’re operating with the “full expectation” we’re going to play at SoFi

The Rams are operating with “the full expectation” that the wild-card game against the Vikings will be played at SoFi Stadium on Monday night as scheduled, coach Sean McVay said Thursday. The NFL has named State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, as the contingency plan for the game.

Smoke from the fires burning in and around Los Angeles were visible at the team’s practice facility in Woodland Hills on Thursday.

“Obviously, our thoughts and prayers are with everybody that’s been affected by these fires,” McVay said, via video from the team. “It’s one of those deals that almost doesn’t feel real, but it certainly is real to the people who are affected. Praying that people are OK. You just see the amount of people affected. It’s one of those deals that gives you perspective. Hopefully get this stuff under control.

    “It’s been a unique week.”

McVay said some people in the building have been affected by power outages and recommended evacuations.

“And a couple of our staff members did have their homes affected,” he said, “but fortunately, to my knowledge, nobody has been injured, and for that we’re grateful.”

And there are still new fires breaking out just North of the Rams practice facility. 0% containment so far... we will see what happens. McVay is optimistic, and the NFL better hurry with their decision to either stay or move to Arizona for the game.

He was always just a bridge qb he was exposed Sunday Night I'm not even sure he will have a ÿear like this next year ì really do believe that JJ McCarthy is the future but i will admit Sam Darnold took a pounding because of the poor play by the O-line he's been outstanding I'm just not sure about him

This is the best thing I've heard in 3 years!! If he misses the entire season, the Browns can shelf him with zero repercussions, then his entire salary for 2025 ($46M) will be credited to the 2026 salary cap, which will effectively void the 2026 salary cap for Watson. They still have bonus money to contend with, but the salary will be a huge windfall in 2026. We can cut him, trade him, stick him in a corner and forget about him.. whatever... They have insurance on him. Problem up to this point is they keep converting salary into bonuses to move the cap down the road... Now they can actually use his ineptitude in our favor and get caught up on the cap issues.

I guess with 2 pretty good defenses, you'd expect a 6-0 game in the 2nd... Chargers on top.
