    Can you imagine having...

The NFL's leading passer in yards and touchdowns

The NFL's leading receiver in catches, yards, and touchdowns

    The NFL's leader in sacks

    And you miss the playoffs.

Because its the last game of the year and you want him to work through those issues before next week. Regardless of his issues yesterday, this is his team and he helped get them to 14-2. What would have been gained by pulling him down 24-9? Would Nick Mullins really have given you a better chance to win that game? Take him out, then it is more than playoff prep, it's "Do the coaches have faith in me to play?"

For me, giving up on the game, thus the season, by benching your best bet at a comeback would have done more damage psychologically, than leaving him in and just taking a bad loss. It's one of three losses, move on to getting ready for the Wild Card game. You guys are fine and capable of beating anyone on any given day. If you are a good team, it is almost easy to beat a team once, but gets more difficult to beat them a 3rd time. Now it's up to the coaches to do a deep dive, outside of getting this team ready for the Rams, they should have a secondary team of coaches scouring the two games of tape to find out how to beat the Lions in the divisional round.

What's worse is they lost all but one game by a TD or less... The one that got away was week 1 against the Patriots.. That game will be the one that haunts them the most.

As a Vikings fan it so frustrating he seemed to never calm down he missed a wide open JJ in end zone they were in red zone and no TD's i just wanted him to sit for quater cause he seemed to jacked up well there O-line didn't help much

After seeing your other post... Could you make the same claim if the Bengals moved on from Zac Taylor? The GM is obviously getting them players, is the coaching staff utilizing them to their full advantage? I would think the Bengals brass should be having that conversation today. Taylor is only 46-52-1 as a HC.

Oh, I agree 100%, I watched the whole game. Watching him miss Jefferson, I don't know how many times, was excruciating and I didn't have any skin in the game. Personally, I just think mentally, that could have sent a worse signal to him going into the playoffs this year.

The Bengals have talent on their roster. I would say that coaching has played a role in their issues this season. So a coaching change where the GM is retained makes sense to me. I don't think Taylor is awful by any means. But no one can say that roster is devoid of talent.

I would actually do the opposite in Jacksonville. I'm firing the GM and keeping the coach. Baalke is trash. They want to scapegoat Pederson and that's fine but what's happened to that team isn't his fault. That's a poorly built roster with high contracts in bad places. Kirk eating 24 million....Engram will eat 13 next season. Gabe Davis is overpaid. Overpaying average linebackers. It's just a mess.

I agree, I haven't seen anything that would be a feather in Baalke's cap. His first draft he took Trevor Lawrence... duh, if they had hired me, I would have done the same thing.

After that, he has zero pro-bowlers out of 4 drafts. Walker, Lloyd and Cisco are starting to play better, but besides them, I don't see anyone else that a team would say "I have to have him", when he hits free agency.

It's only been one year, but his shining moment might end up being Brian Thomas... We will see... This pick might be what saved his job in 2025.

At the end of the day, I don't think anyone would call Trevor Lawrence a bust. He definitely digressed in an injury plagued 4th year. However, this TEAM has underperformed since he was drafted. That's usually a sign of coaching. I don't know if I would totally agree that Pederson is being scapegoated, I do agree Baalke hasn't done enough to improve a really bad roster around Lawrence, but I do think their digression with essentially the same roster over the past 3 years is damning to Pederson's career.

Reports: Ezekiel Elliott agrees to terms with Chargers

The Chargers are signing running back Ezekiel Elliott, according to multiple reports. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media says Elliott will join the team’s practice squad.

The Cowboys waived Elliott last week, giving him a chance to join a playoff team as his career winds down.

Elliott finished this season with 74 carries for 226 yards and three touchdowns. He also caught 12 passes for 69 yards.

He played more than 14 snaps only once in his last eight games this season.

By no means was I bustin your balls and in many ways you are correct. Darnold got the Vikings there and exceeded everybody's expectations, but he has to do better, which is a tough thing to do as he already went beyond expectations.

This whole thing has got to be blowing his mind, and if he has half a mind, he will adapt and learn.
