Unlike RB's, WR's and QB's, maybe it because the linemen dont do anything, they dont score points and their belly's stick out of their jerseys? I can do that!
A couple reasons imo 1) He was hurt and missed 2 games. That alone disqualifies him going against skilled players 2) When he was out, it wasn’t that noticeable. McCollum was able to hold up against D Lawrence and Q Williams against the NY teams, neither of those two were very visible in those games. D Lawrence might be an All Pro, this year, and Williams could be a Pro Bowler. Not saying McCollum is as good as Frazier by any means, but especially to outsiders that eliminates him from any slight consideration he might have had. Daniels and Nix get the nod due to being QBs, and leading non-playoff teams last year to winning records so far this year. Daniels might be cooling off a little but he’s been dealing with injuries.
I have a question: Because the cool thing to do nowadays is to bitch about the refs cheating for the Chiefs, wonder what people here think about Friday’s ending? Saw multiple posts on Facebook (I realize not a great source of truth) saying the call on the fumble should have been a false start and a dead ball, no fumble. In fact one of the refs make the false start signal while walking towards the head ref. Personally, I feel the WR going to the top of the screen was never set, so what people thought was false start was really illegal formation. Re-watching that play many times and I’m convinced that the only player moving early is the center snapping the ball, which is what was called on the field. Refs have made some horrible calls this year, but I don’t believe they are “cheating” for any team.
I seriously think the refs system is broken to an extent, but I also know humans being human is just part of the game. If they implement the tech available, it would go a long way in helping the refs on the field. The idea of refs calling shit to favor one team over another is just not real in my opinion, just crazy talk. It may seem like the Chiefs get calls, but I doubt there is intent involved by the officiating crew.
At first I thought it should have been a false start, but after they replayed it 100 times it was clear that the only person moving before anyone else was the center. The call was correct and not just to benefit the Chiefs.
Human error is part of the game. And I do think officiating appears to be pretty bad across the board, but it doesn’t seem slanted towards any one team. Really gets annoying listening to people make it out that the league and refs are out to help the Chiefs. I don’t like them that much, but people just scour the games for any missed calls or borderline calls against their opponents. Every team can point to a handful of calls that should or shouldn’t have been called every game. It’s part of the game. For example in the Steelers/Browns game on Winston’s go ahead run Cam Heyward was pretty blatantly held. Could’ve changed the game cause no FG is a gimme especially in that kind of snow storm. Truly not upset about it, Browns dominated the lines the entire game, earned their victory. Just pointing out there are missed calls in every game. I personally feel throughout the season the calls balance out, teams benefit and get screwed by bad calls.
I think it was the right call and the reason they took some time to huddle was regarding the 10 second run off. Even if they called a false start, there would've been the run off and the Raiders most likely don't have any time left, unless I saw the clock wrong.
I think it was the right call. Although I find it funny that had the clock been running at the time the rules says it reverts to a false start. That means the Raiders would have had the ball back and even with the 10-second runoff they would have had a couple seconds to snap the ball when they reset after the penalty.
The Jets are stacked at skill positions but let this be a lesson to everyone that games are won in the trenches. The Jets decided not to invest in their offensive line because they thought they could win despite them.
Fire the DC in Cincinnati. How do you allow Justin Fields to run open on the fake handoff. It was obvious! It's his 2nd snap!
