Great defense carried them, imo. Now they are more competitive or better at execution offensively as Wilson is gelling with their system. Appears they may even get better offensively as we head to the second half of the schedule, so they are getting it more together which is going to make them a more dangerous force to reckon with come playoffs IF they can stay healthy (obviously). 2nd half schedule for the Steelers has them play 2 vs the Ravens, 2 vs the Bengals, throw in a game with the Eagles and the Chiefs and you have one tough way to go... vs the Browns for 2 cant be takin lightly either. They are a fun team to watch play.
Tomlin and Harbaugh have coached against each other the second-most times of any pair of coaches in NFL history. Only George Halas and Curly Lambeau, who coached against each other in 49 games between 1921 and 1953, faced off more times of any pair of coaches in NFL history. Halas coached the Bears for 40 seasons. Lambeau coached the Packers for 29 seasons, the Chicago Cardinals for two seasons and Washington for two seasons. Through 35 games, Tomlin is 20-15 against Harbaugh. The Ravens are 3-point favorites on Sunday at Pittsburgh.
Source: 49ers' Deommodore Lenoir gets 5-year, $92M extension SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Even after a strong 2023 campaign and a training camp in which he was consistently one of the best players on the field, San Francisco 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir was in no rush to sign a big-money contract extension until he could solidify himself as one of the league's best at his position. As it turned out, it took only nine more games for that to happen, as Lenoir and the 49ers reached agreement on a five-year, $92 million contract extension, a source told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler on Tuesday. The deal comes in the midst of a season when Lenoir has emerged as one of the Niners' best -- and most versatile -- young players, even on a roster with plenty of star power. Through those nine contests, Lenoir has 53 tackles, a forced fumble and two interceptions. He has allowed a passer rating of just 66.5 when targeted as the nearest defender, according to Next Gen Stats. ESPN
Purdy is going to demand a big payday soon. I wonder if he will take a team friendly deal or force them to pay him more than Zak. Purdy is worth a hell of a lot more than Zak
"The 1990 Giants won the Super Bowl behind a dominant defense led by Lawrence Taylor and coordinated by Bill Belichick. That defense held its first 10 opponents to less than 21 points, a start to the season that has never been repeated — at least not yet. If the Chargers hold the Bengals to under 21 points on Sunday night, they’ll be the first defense that has held every opponent to 20 points or less through 10 games of the season since those 1990 Giants. The most points the Chargers have allowed this season was 20, in their Week Three loss to the Steelers. The Chargers have given up 17 points three times, 16 once, 10 twice, 8 once and 3 once. Add it all up, and through nine games the Chargers have allowed just 118 points in nine games, an average of 13.1 points allowed per game that is the best in the NFL this season."
Lamar Jackson is 1-3 vs the Steelers. Game this week is in Pittsburgh... so why are the Steelers 3-point dogs?
Another interesting thing about the Steelers vs Ravens game, maybe not what the Steelers fans might think as interesting, but check this out... Ravens running back Derrick Henry has a touchdown in all 10 games this season, and if he scores another one on Sunday against the Steelers, he’ll be in some exclusive, Hall of Fame company. Only three NFL players in the Super Bowl era have scored touchdowns in more than 10 straight games to start a season: O.J. Simpson with 14 in 1975 (meaning he scored a touchdown in every game that season), Jerry Rice with 12 in 1987 (meaning he scored a touchdown in every game he played in that strike-impacted season), and John Riggins with 12 in 1983. All three players who have done it are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Henry leads the NFL with 12 rushing touchdowns and 14 total touchdowns, in addition to leading the league in carries, rushing yards, yards per carry, rushing yards per game and yards from scrimmage this season. With 102 career rushing touchdowns, Henry currently ranks eighth in NFL history. He’s closing in on John Riggins (104), Jim Brown (106) and Walter Payton (110) and could be in the Top 5 all time by the end of this season. stolen from; PFT
It won't help. I was there, is was one of the most fun wins I've seen live... BUT, if i'm being honest, the Ravens lost the game way more than the Browns won it. They dropped like 4 sure INTs. Not, wow, I wish he would have had that , but it would have been a great play.. No, these were hitting Ravens in the chest and hands. On the other side of the ball, it seemed like Lamar Jackson looked like he had forgotten everything he had ever learned about HIS game. He was standing in the pocket unaware for most of the game. Taking sacks that a non-running QB would take because they don't have another option. The short answer is, the Ravens came to Cleveland not expecting to break a sweat... because of that game, it's going to be tougher on every other team that plays them the rest of the season. but... the Steelers match up well against them. It's going to be a good game..
Sam Darnold makes me very nervous it could be outstanding play or a bone headed play here makes this Vikings fan very nervous
