PITTSBURGH -- Not only did the Steelers land Jets wide receiver Mike Williams in exchange for a 2025 fifth-round pick, but the team made another deadline-day move in acquiring Packers pass rusher Preston Smith for a seventh-round selection, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Tuesday.

In Williams, the Steelers added a complementary player to top wideout George Pickens, who has been a focal point of defenses since the team traded Diontae Johnson to the Panthers for cornerback Donte Jackson in the offseason.

And by trading for Smith, the Steelers bolstered a position group that has dealt with a number of injuries this season with a 10-year veteran who has been a consistent starter for two organizations over the past nine seasons. While pass rusher Alex Highsmith is healthy now, he missed three games with a groin injury, and second-year pass rusher Nick Herbig has been sidelined three games with a hamstring injury. Smith, who has 2.5 sacks and 19 tackles this season, will also help the Steelers' run defense as the team enters a pivotal stretch of AFC North play.

Though the Steelers' passing game has improved since Russell Wilson took the starting quarterback reins against Williams' former team, Pittsburgh still felt it needed another receiver to round out a group that includes Van Jefferson, Calvin Austin III, Scotty Miller and 2024 third-round pick Roman Wilson, who was recently placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury.

Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders on Oct. 15. However, the Williams trade leaves them thin for a few weeks at wide receiver.

So, what your saying is… the Browns are on the bubble to make the playoffs… that’s encouraging.

I personally wasnt saying anything except giving an indication as to where every team in the NFL stands.

 

Another thing that 'bubble' shows is 11 teams are at 3 wins or less at a time when it has looked like a parity League and has for a while... not the case this season so far. It also shows there are a few preseason SB contenders looking like pretenders at the moment, especially the New York 'MUSHROOMHEAD' Jets!

 

Bengals' Zack Moss to IR with neck injury, likely out for season

CINCINNATI -- Bengals running back Zack Moss was placed on injured reserve Tuesday and will likely be out for the rest of the season, coach Zac Taylor said.

Moss missed the team's most recent game, a 41-24 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, with a neck injury that was reported late last week. Upon further evaluation, the issue was deemed serious enough to hold him out longer.

"Still gathering more information but it doesn't look like he'll back," Taylor said ahead of practice Tuesday night.

Well, the Browns are 3 games out of a possible playoff birth, while at the same time locked in a 7 way tie for the #1 overall pick in the 2025 draft.

 

Which would you take? I really don't think they make the playoffs so, the higher the pick maybe?

The Panthers and running back Chuba Hubbard are going to stay together for a while longer.

The team announced that they have signed Hubbard to a four-year contract extension on Thursday. They did not announce any terms, but Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that it is a four-year, $33.2 million deal.

Hubbard will receive $15 million in fully guaranteed money and has a maximum value of $37.2 million.

Hubbard had 133 carries for 665 yards and five touchdowns to go with 26 catches for 108 yards and a touchdown so far this season. The 2021 fourth-round pick has 638 carries for 2,645 yards and 17 touchdowns for his career.
