Yep, let's just call a timeout and have a Captain's meeting on every play. I can't think of one instance where the pattern was set and the head coach regained control, but yes, the pattern has been set, and the Bears, like clockwork, draft a quarterback, retain the head coach, fire the head coach after one season, and Hire a new head coach and OC with a new system. <<But wait! There's more>> Being Halloween let it be told the Bears will ghost Uberflush in Arizona, and he will be last seen wandering around in the Arizona desert looking for his team then remarkably comes across Freddie Kitchens who's been wandering around the desert for 6 years looking for his Browns. From that day forward Arizona will be known as the place where Head Coaches go to die.

Oh yeah, fat shaming. Those chunky cake-takers may get a pass from society these days, but they don't get one from me.

If you don't fat shame them, how will they know to stop eating? Sometimes you need a little societal push.

Also, while we're talking about leadership, my son has been named an alternate captain of his hockey team. Not the loudest kid on the ice, but definitely puts in the work and has 100% motor. And that translates to improvement.

They haven't told the team yet so I can't tell anyone, but damn it I will tell you guys.

Congrats to him that's quite an accomplishment
At the end of the day isn't that all you can ask? To paraphrase Sweetness winning isn't if you won or lost it's about giving your best effort and trying the hardest they possibly can. I will add and own your mistakes.
Der Uberflush expects the players to own their mistakes, but when pressed he can't even own the obvious ones of his own. Instead, he replies with a mindless meandering explanation defending his action. Waldron also defended his decision to get cute at the goal line with a backup center and said he would do it again. So we have that to look forward to.

BF would you feel better if I changed my name to "Sports Forum Poster" or perhaps maybe even tunafluffy?

100%. I'll never forget when he got out of "Learn to Play" playing his first "real" game and the coach yelled at him something along the lines of "that's YOUR puck" and the kid fires out of a cannon to go get it. Ever since that moment he's realized effort pays off, and I've reinforced those lessons off the ice. I told him, "If you leave it all on the ice, with nothing else in the tank at the end of the game, even if you lose you know you gave it everything you had and you can't feel bad about that". I mean hell, maybe I got it from Sweetness when I was a wee lad heh. He realizes that, so if the game is over, and he gave it his all, he comes off the ice with the attitude of, "I need to work on my shots" kind of thing. Though I'm still working him through even when he thinks the the loss is on the defense (which to be honest, it definitely can be) that it's a team sport and he had his role to play, score more, create opportunities when you're on the ice and those defensive lapses don't matter. The message is slowly sinking in, and I know the coaches reinforce it and see it from him.

Probably my favorite attitude change this year is on him creating opportunities. He moved to center late last season, so in the last game he had a plan to win the faceoff and specifically put it where one of his teammates could get it, and he told them that was what he was going to do. Both ended up in almost immediate scores. Nothing shows in the boxscore for that, no assist, but that is *critical* for the team's success. Kind of like seeing Caleb look off defenders, that's not a stat, but the fact that he's been able to do it in several situations thus far is a massive positive sign.

You're goddamn right I do heh. I am proud of that dude for keeping at it, it was touch and go when he first started at 9 years old a few years back, because the serious hockey kids start when they are fucking 4. He's done the work, but I helped him stay with it and get there.

Which, man, I cannot recommend the sport enough. It's been great for him physically and socially - he has learned some lessons about sucking it up and being tough. And my wife who won't allow him to play football found hockey was a violent sport loophole she didn't realize. Only downside is the money is ridiculous, and much much worse the higher you go. Those triple A kids it's $80k a season and they fly around like a fucking NHL team across the US and Canada. For the *chance* that one of them gets drafted out of 14U into the WHL or something, it's fucking nuts. None of that for my kid.

The balance of being a good parent and helping them succeed (pushing them a little) and being a dickhead dad pushing their kids where they don't want to go is a delicate balance. Hope your little one is playing some sports Ev.

Can't even be upset with yesterday's shit show. AZ dominated the trenches, the bears looked slow, sluggish, not on mark--quintessential bears in terms of offensive preparedness. On Twitter/reddit late--they were calling for Bagent which...LOL.

Eberflush bought himself a job when he gets fired. He knows defense--so go be a DC somewhere and get the fuck off my television because he's taken this team as far as he can go.

Ryan Poles should 100% be on the hotseat for this garbagefest.

They need OL, they need DL. We know this. Its another year and they still suck in the trenches. Larry Borom was whiffing on guys right in front of him most of the time I allowed by eyes to be insulted by what I was watching. Coleman Shelton reverted to being ass again. Darnell Wright looks terrible--even though fans/pundits/meatballs alike all swear he's hurt--then fucking bench him till he's right, because he looks lost too. Matt Pryor looks so fucking awkward, slow, and anti-fundamentals coming out of a 3 point stance to block someone--which isn't uncommon for someone who is 6'8. Rinse. Repeat.

Caleb is really going to learn 2 offenses in 2 years...isn't he?

I'll say this for Waldron--for about a week, I thought he was another Adam Gase and he'd be 1 and done. Holy fuck was I wrong. This guy has no fucking clue either.

How does Cole Kmet get 0 targets? 5th highest paid TE in the league and you can't be bothered to scheme anything to him. I'd ask if Getsy is back calling plays but he just got fired by bowl cut.

Love Keenan the player--but if someone can afford to fit in his cap or have the bears eat a huge chunk for a draft pick--adios. Rome is your versatile swiss army knife who lines up everywhere.

Can DJ look any more sour/bitchy than he has the past few weeks?

I was hoping Waldron would send the backup center out there to play quarterback that last minute, as I didn't even want to see Bagent out there, let alone the presumed future. I would have been more than okay with that.
Is this the way it's going to be when a captain speaks out against this fucked up regime? What a spiteful way to treat your bruised ego you stupid fuck, fuck you. Let's make it all about you, you, you stupid fuck. Let's cut off the nose to spite one's face. Kmet 0 targets.
Either Waldron had no answer to this pressure, or Caleb was stuck in hero mode, trying to push the ball down the field and leaving meat on the bone. Perhaps both. There is no doubt this regime has lost this locker room, none.

We called this midway through last season.

It seemed on a couple replays he was open underneath and Caleb didn't see him.

Lots to rant about yesterday but the worst thing for me was the lack of adjustments from Waldron as the OL continued to take it up the ass play after play. No quick slants, short routes. No attempt to even try to get Caleb in a rhythym. Every pass play called for 5 step drops and WRs to run routes 15+ yards down the field. Reminded me of Martz at his worst when the starting OTs were J'mucus and Omiyale. Even the running plays were totally telegraphed. We have no offensive identity.

    Raiders fired Luke Getsy.

The Raiders for years have been a dumpster fire. It took them 9 weeks into the season to realize what the Bears couldn't figure out in 2 years. And they had the balls to actually make a change midseason unlike our pathetic franchise.
