This was perfectly said Ev. This talking shit nonsense has to stop, but it's allowed to proliferate and flourish under Uberflush. As a fan, I think the respect starts there. Let your play dictate what your mouth wants to say and shut the fuck up. Chances are if Stevenson wasn't out there jawing that personal foul flag he drew eariler wouldn't have been thrown. That's okay we don't need a head coach, Bears fans are well-traveled and can tell the players when to get their head in the game. x.com
Per Matt Eberflus.... The 13 yard pickup by McLaurin before the hail mary didn't matter. There's no difference between a 60 yard hail mary and a 75 yarder. Doug Kramer run was a good call. Hail mary defense is well coached, players fault for not defending right. I fucking hate this guy.
Matt Eberflus on ESPN 1000: "The play before the (Hail Mary), I'm not concerned about." Dan Quinn to @AlbertBreer “That’s the one you need. If we don’t get that play to (McLaurin), then we’re out of gas.” Coaching matters.
What makes the Kramer run worse is he was in at guard do to injury and had to pull him from guard and reinsert an injured player so he could line up at FB and fumble the ball. You can’t make this shit up. As for Braxton Jones he isn’t good enough but for the love of god the rookie isn’t ready.
Finished the first half of film from the game. It's crazy how badly coached this team is. Just everything is wrong somewhere. They get no details right - not just some, but none. Again, an unserious football team run by people that are not qualified. "Fake it til you make it" doesn't work here.
Just a question but which column would you put Matt Superfluous in, the FIRE EVERYONE column or the JUST DIE column?
BWW covered this, but the presser after the game and then he doubled down on it. The play to Kramer was GOOD. We didn't need to use a timeout because we were all set. STEVENSON WAS NOT SET. He doesn't care we gave up the 15 yarder prior to that. (Which BTW, I thought Romo was on point this game, he was back to calling stuff like THAT exactly). Defend the sidelines? NO. We can let them get a free stoppage of clock. Don't forget too the 19 seconds on the first incomplete pass they clock didn't even start, at least the Zebras caught it. Accountability? SHITS principal? NOPE. Chirp in the stands, poke a lineman in the helmet to take an unsportsman like, no problem, you're the only corner we have, can't upset you. Fuck Flus. AMEN. The problem is he is a decent DC, the defense has been night and day since he took over. The offense is terrible. So we get a new HC and we hit the reset button? But we SHOULD have done that last offseason. And that decent DC and the talent on Offense might be enough to overcome enough games to get this team to 500. That won't win in the playoffs but it might save jobs. I am done with Flus though. No accountability for himself, no accountability for players, way, WAY too many foolish pre-snap and dead ball penalties. I was done with him last year, but I kind of actively hate him now. Might even have to change the avatar until he's gone.
Agreed on all accounts. Let him be a DC. He's not a head coach, and until this team has good coaching installed (NOT promoting the current OC to HC, PLEASE), they're not going anywhere. We all knew it had to be done before, but because of how cowardly this team's ownership / front office is, we knew it wouldn't happen. And here we are, repeating the same fucking cycle. It's exhausting.
I don't know. We know where Jones ceiling is. Amegadjie by no means was a stud but he flashed in the run blocking and settled down a bit in pass blocking at one point. He needs a lot of work but I don't know why you wouldn't take a longer look at him. The Braxton Jones experiment needs to end.
Braxton experiment should have ended 2 years ago… If Kiran can’t go—Ryan Bates is back from IR and practicing again, in case the rookie can’t handle it. He’s a Swiss Army knife player who’s played everywhere on the OL, including decently at multiple positions, including LT in Buffalo. Problem is—he’s got 32.5 inch arms, and Poles is an arm length size queen—which there’s no evidence that 34 inch arms make an OL any better as opposed to being an inch or an inch and a half shorter. You can read me a list of prototypical sized guys and I’ll return with a list of HOF, all pros, and pro bowlers with arms shorter than 34”. This should be the simplest decision to make with Braxton out, but Poles and Der Flus will probably fuck it up.
Wow, well said Kmet! I've gotta say, my respect level for that guy keeps rising. From being frankly over-drafted out of a weak TE class and looking very unimpressive his first year or even two, the last 2-3 years his play has gotten better and better. His hands have gotten miles better and he is now consistently clutch when needed to be. He plays more physical for his size than he used to and his blocking is getting better tho could keep improving. When he talks about what people are doing in the dark re their own work ethic its not hard to compare them to himself in a way. Because Kmet's overall game has clearly grown and i bet thats come about because he has been working his ass off when there's no one around to see. And now he's showing signs of real leadership qualities. Its great to see. I was critical of that extension cos it was a hell of a lot of money and not strictly justified by what he'd put down up until that point. But thats one im glad to say i was wrong about. Now stop forgetting he's on the team every few weeks Waldron!
Fire Everyone definitely. I reserve Just Die for the scumbags and criminals(well and Virginia but thats a different matter here). Eberflush really looks like an ok guy outside of football, he's just not at all cut out to be a HC.
Not even the look on his face, just the words out of his mouth. This coaching staff is in over their heads, the players clearly know it. They're not going to apologize for talking publicly about it because they know that's the only way shit is changing.
Exactly like whatshisname. Whether or not its goes as completely far south as it did with him and the entire locker implodes, im not sure. I mean i would've said yes tbh, but that team was in a really dark place midway thru last season, that locker was ripe for implosion and for some reason it didn't. They stuck together and pulled out a winning record over the final 7 games. So who knows.
This attempt to keep things in house from now on reflects a HC who knows just how terrible he looks after that game and is starting to get desperate. But im afraid that ship has sailed. The genie is out the bottle. The fat kid has already eaten the cupcake. You wanted this, Turdflusher. You wanted empowered players who would do your job for you because you knew you couldn't do it. The video is out there of you telling your players we are giving you the keys, you drive this thing. Well now they are. You being shitty at your job is costing the team games and they arent going to stand for it. There's a reason coaches don't give players too much power and too much reign to speak out in public. Because eventually it bites you and bad things happen. And once that pattern is set its very hard to undo without a regime change. The fat kid. Has eaten. The cupcake.
