Steelers Draft and Mel Kiper sucks thread!!

For the record I did not steal that from Steelers Depot, it was my post.^ It got 15 upvotes. I don't mind carrying this thread, but does anyone have any sleepers, bang the table guys, I know it's October but someone on Saturday has to be exciting to envision in black and gold.

Coudn't pass on Burden at 21 even though Scourton was there, here is the full 7 round mock. Still taking Kaytron Allen. Missed Walter Nolen, consolation prize was Drew Allar. Took 2 DL and 2 WR, it's what I do. Was able to grab Tommi Hill at 159. Their WR rankings on this site are much different, could not take who I wanted they were long gone.(Wells, Lacy)

 

I also like that one. I do so many it's hard to keep track. I can tell you I am going to be super prepared for this draft like no other. I retired in July so I got lots of free time.

 

I've had a chance to watch a bit more. Married off the oldest girl so that's off the schedule. I see so much Big10 because I'm a Wisconsin guy. I'll see what I can contribute but it probably won't be much.

 

I'm all ears, any input from this site is great. The National sites are good, but I trust my eyes and the eyes of fellow posters.

Talk about the best TE group, forget Colston Loveland, enter Tyler Warren into the discussion. 17 catches in one game, a NEW NCAA record. Give Drew Allar credit, threw a few picks, but delivered some clutch big time throws.
Ohio State, man I just don't like Ryan Day's fucking face, rooting for the Ducks. RB Jordan James is a little dynamo, Evan Stewart had himself a half. Denzel Burke too, and not in a good way, burnt not once buy twice on double moves by Stewart. And he got dragged 15 yards by a smaller player. Tez Johnson also smoked him. Ohio State up now, better QB play, but with Jordan Burch out it's opened up some running lanes for Judkins and Henderson. Walter Nolen is getting stuffed by the LSU OL, but it's a lot of double teams. More to report later, watching two games at once.

 

WOW what a weekend of College Football. Penn State vs. USC, Ohio State vs. Oregon, Alabama vs. S. Carolina, LSU vs. Ole Miss. Lots of talent crazy endings.
What the hell happened to Antwan Wells, disappeared in the second half, but Kyren Lacy hauled in the winning TD in OT, they shifted him around away from Trey Amos.

 

If you get a chance this year, you have to watch Jeanty run, holy shit is he electric. Saw some of the Boise State vs. Hawaii game on tape, could not stay up that late.

 

He’s been a fun one to watch. Very reminiscent of freshman year Adrian Peterson at Oklahoma.

 

Fields isn’t the answer watching QB all year because I had a feeling about his limitations. Wilson who knows we’ll find out next week? Jets have a good defense .

I would not be shocked if Drew Allar was our first round pick. There are _6 worse teams that need a QB. Carolina, Cleveland, LAR, Vegas, NYJ, NYG, I will do a 32 team mock depicting this , might even do 2 rounds . Stay tuned

 

We would have to trade up for a quarterback. No way one falls to us in the 18-32 range. I expect the Steelers to at least make the playoffs which automatically puts you at 18 if you’re the worst playoff team and lose your first post season game.

 

Good QBs fall. Next years class has about 5-6 guys that will probably go in the first couple of rounds. They could stay put in either the first or second and still get a good one. I’ve talked to bites about it, but I’m pounding the table for Ewers if he drops. He’s a winner and a leader with fantastic mechanics and insanely high football IQ.

7 QBs in rd one

 

well maybe 5 couple dudes are day 2 guys, but you have to value the position. Past Daniels and Williams, were any of the other 4 QB in 2024 first round grades on other sites? McCarthy, Nix, Penix, I will give you Drake Maye, but a late first round grade. On NFL Mockdraft Database, 5 guys are rated in the top 12, I shit you not. Nussmier is 37, which is fringe. Then there's Dart and Allar. See I am a fan of Allar, he has the measurables, winning mentality, and still has a lot of tread on the tires. So I took him over Dart at 26. Here is the big board and since I did the mock on their site, I used it within reason. I took some 3rd rounders in two, and I pushed some of their first rounders back to two.

so continuing on that point I am making, let's look at the 2024 big board on NFLMDDB. 6 guys rated high, well because they are QBs. Drew Allar is my bang the table guy at 26 because like Stlcrtn I like Ewers but he won't last until 26. So in my tunnel vision, I am thinking BPA at a high position of need and get your franchise QB on a 5 year rookie deal. Fields is too darn streaky and makes some shit throws, Wilson is untested and what would he do behind the porous line Steelers put out there. It's sad too because of the investment they made in the trenches. Maybe it's time to call Mike Munchak, offer him $$$$$$$$ and fix the mess. I will give Arthur Smith more time, but for me Pat Meyers is not developing these high draft picks. Dotson is doing really well in L.A. by the way, what does that tell you?

not by a long shot, but some dumb team (Cleveland, cough cough) will take him very high fall in love with his Juice, Pedigree, swag, etc.., I mean they have a history of drafting turds at QB since the late 90's, minus The guy in Tampa, who just put up a 50 burger on N.O. Baker is just laughing at them. Watson sucks, the only thing he's good at is hiring lawyers and denying he has a problem with women. I understand why Rudolph left, he was our best QB and was so much better than Trubisky and Kenny Mittens.

 

So here is my top 3 QB of the draft, on MY BOARD. Their position might change, but I am watching a ton of ball and here is what I see. I have NO issue with athletic QB's but I prefer more traditional QB play.
