Falcons got robbed. Pass Interference not called. It should have been 1st and goal Falcons on the 2nd to last drive.
His head wasnt even turned back looking for the ball, made contact (bearhug) before the ball arrived... sometimes you just cant believe these calls even with replay available.
Wont you be, my Naber? Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers was the subject of a lot of hype heading into his rookie season and the first-round pick is living up to it. Nabers caught two touchdowns during Sunday’s 21-15 win over the Browns, but his most impressive play may have been one that didn’t result in any points. Nabers went up and over Browns cornerback Martin Emerson to turn what could have been an interception into a 28-yard gain and a play that will be a mainstay on his highlight reel. Nabers finished with eight catches for 78 yards and is the first receiver in league history with 20-plus catches and three touchdowns in the first three games of their NFL career. “I mean I have a lot of great teammates behind my back pushing me for greatness,” Nabers said, via a transcript from the team. “This last week they kept pushing and pushing, and I am thankful to those guys who kept pushing me to try and be great, and hopefully we can keep the momentum into the next game and have another strong performance for these guys.” Nabers was a bright spot in a loss in Week Two, but doing the same in a win feels different and it provides hope that the bleak first two weeks of the Giants season won’t be the script for the entire year. If that’s the case, it’s a good bet that Nabers will be a leading reason why the results are better than expected. PFT
RT Troy Fautanu will undergo knee surgery but could return if Steelers make playoffs Steelers rookie right tackle Troy Fautanu was diagnosed with a dislocated kneecap and will undergo surgery to repair the ligament damage, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports. He will miss the entire regular season but could return it Pittsburgh makes the postseason, per Rapoport. The Steelers placed Fautanu on injured reserve Saturday, a day after he injured his knee at practice. The team initially listed him as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Chargers. The Steelers selected Fautanu in the first round of the 2024 draft. Broderick Jones started at right tackle in Week 1, and Fautanu did not get in the game. In Week 2, Fautanu started and played 55 snaps to 11 for Jones. Jones will take over the job full time in Fautanu’s absence. PFT/Williams
Im wondering if Kelce and Swift are having a rift, because he sure hasnt produced on the field and I gotta blame someone. I could blame Kelce, Mahomes or the OC, but i chose Swift. I grew tired of Collinsworth bringing that subject up last night about every other second. On second thought... I blame Collinsworth for what its worth.
Two things about this: 1- What you have here is literally one of the easiest calls that refs have to make in the game. The PI in space where the receiver is going back for the ball and the defender plays thru the receiver before the ball arrives. If the defender hasn't even started to turn his head around that's an open and shut case. Literally doesn't get much easier outside of maybe a blatantly egregious late hit well after the whistle(i'd add a blatant punch to the head as well but they sure fucked that up in the Bears Texans game didn't they). That they could F this up is so depressing, because as bill payers ultimately, we are entitled to expect a certain standard. There will always be mistakes, but this shit should be so easy as to be unfuckable. 2- I really hate the talk about it being rigged/its scripted for the Chiefs to win etc. But then could someone explain to me how its always the Chiefs who seem to get away with these back breaking decisions by refs. This in v high likelyhood saved them from going behind with less than 4mins left in the game(i wouldn't bet against Mahomes in that situation but the facts to that point are the facts to that point). This, the full on tackle of Isiah Likely in the playoff game that would've been a easy TD. How do Spagnolu defenses get away with this shit?
People also seem to forget that the Falcons got the ball back almost instantly. Mahomes didn't do shit next drive.
A bad Sunday for the Raiders got worse on Monday with the news that starting safety Marcus Epps has been lost for the season. Epps was diagnosed today with a torn ACL today, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Lions lost DE Marcus Davenport for the season (elbow). Campbell said the other key players who suffered injuries Sunday, including tight end Sam LaPorta (ankle) and safety Brian Branch (concussion), are considered day-to-day.
I get that and i considered it myself. But don't you just think it would've been so Mahomes that if the Falcons HAD scored there, that the extra urgency of the situation would've kicked in and they would've responded. We've seen that happen way too many times to discount it. Either way, the Falcons gave it a really good go i thought. Didn't like the play calling towards the end, but they pushed the Chiefs. That final minute of the 1st half felt crucial. Falcons had the ball and needed to win that final minute at least 3-0. Instead they lost it 3-0.
It's one of those unfair situations but one team gets that advantage and they shouldn't have it. The league needs to be better. They were supposed to have a sky judge but the league axed that as far as I am aware.
This JAX and Bills game almost feels like a must win for JAX... they are the worst scoring team in the entire NFL at just 30 points. And as Im typing this... TD, Bills. uh oh
Perfect throw/execution by Allen to Kincaid. Ball exactly drops in Kincaid's hands after he broke wide.
NFL suspends Chargers S Derwin James one game for repeated violations of safety rules. The Chargers have significant player-availability issues on both sides of the ball. With a visit from the 3-0 Chiefs coming, they might not have quarterback Justin Herbert. They won’t have rookie first-round tackle Joe Alt. And, pending appeal, they won’t have safety Derwin James. The NFL has announced that James has been suspended for one game, for “repeated violations of playing rules intended to protect the health and safety of players.” The last straw came on Sunday, at Pittsburgh. He was penalized for lowering his helmet and forcibly striking Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth in the helmet with it. Earlier in the game, James was penalized for grabbing an opponent’s facemask. If James appeals, the matter will be handled on an expedited basis by Derrick Brooks, Ramon Foster, Kevin Mawae, or Jordy Nelson, the hearing officers jointly hired and compensated by the NFL and the NFL Players Association.
