That goal line sequence: 4 shotgun snaps but not one pass. Really fooling the defense there, bud. On 3rd down, 11 (a small WR) is tasked with blocking a defensive end. On 4th down, you run an option to the short field side, and there's nothing else there - no trickery, just "I hope we beat them to the edge". And the funny part is, you've been so tricky dicky the whole rest of the game. But not now. A Chicago Bears run in 2024 has, at minimum, one of the following things true: 1) multiple offensive linemen are seen not blocking anyone, and 2) blocking assignments are unnecessarily stupid (WR on DE) or complicated. Oh, and of course, it's out of the shotgun. Good times, y'all.
I could understand a TE on a DE. I don’t love it but I get it. Asking a small WR to block a DE ON THE FUCKING GOAL LINE is completely god damn stupid
27 pass attempts in the half. He's missed on other throws too but I don't fault him for the lack points. All of the blame for that goes on the OL and playcalling.
That last play is the entire half in a nutshell. Fucking joke. I would legit fire Waldron at halftime for that 4 down sequence. It was crying out for an under C PA to the TE at the back of the endzone on either 2nd or my choice 3rd down.
he’s had some big misses for sure but you have to expect that from a rookie right now so many issues are on the coaching staff and GM
I know Blasingame is hurt but we do need a FB on this roster. And obviously none of the TEs can fill that role. Pound it up the middle behind the FB.
As well as just being a straight JUCO piece of crap play, which is you say was even to the short side, these toss/wide plays have gotten NOTHING! Not this half, not this season! It blows my mind how fucking stupid you have to be to call that. Also, Swift is every cent of the wasted $ signing i said he'd be in March.
His footwork is frequently awful, no doubt cos he has so little faith in the shitheads around him, but he completely a lot of passes thru pure arm talent in that half.
