After Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson participated in the team’s walkthrough on Wednesday, head coach Kevin O’Connell said he wasn’t sure what level of participation Jefferson would have in the team’s practice later in the day.

Jefferson wound up being a limited participant as he works through the quad injury he suffered in last Sunday’s win over the 49ers. Jefferson said after the game that he did not expect the injury to keep him out of action and Wednesday’s practice is a good sign for his availability against the Texans.

Linebacker Ivan Pace (quad), linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel (foot), center Garrett Bradbury (knee), and running back Aaron Jones (hip) were all limited in practice.

Wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle), right tackle Brian O’Neill (elbow), and linebacker Dallas Turner (knee) did not practice.

Mixon didnt practice today, but he is off to a great start. Im just guessing they are not pushing him and he will go.

This is going to be a fun game. Even tho the Vikings started 2-0, the 'experts' think there just lucky... we will see.

I dont need no respect from nobody and neither do the Vikings, the proof is in the pudding and the cream rises to the top.

Let the music do the talking.

They are still claiming its not real serious. Todays 'out' for Addison is basically precautionary. Nailor will be WR2.

Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold returned to Sunday’s rout of the Texans after getting his knee checked out in the second half and he said it feels good when he spoke to reporters at a postgame press conference, but he’ll still have doctors take another look at it.

Darnold said he’ll have the knee evaluated on Monday as a precaution against anything that might not have been identified during the in-game trip to the medical tent. Darnold was 17-of-28 for 181 yards and four touchdowns in the 34-7 win.

Wide receiver Justin Jefferson also offered an update on his condition after the game. Cameras showed Jefferson flexing his right hand on the sideline and he said, via Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com, that he jammed his finger. Jefferson remained in the game and said postgame X-rays were negative.

Jefferson caught one of Darnold’s touchdown passes and the Vikings will be happy to have both players healthy for their shot at a 4-0 start in Green Bay next week.

Sam Darnold on knee: “It’s good, and that’s as much as I’m gonna say about that”

Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold seemed to suffer a potentially serious knee injury on Sunday, after a low hit from former Vikings (now Texans) defensive end Danielle Hunter. Darnold missed only one play before returning.

Still, there’s concern about Darnold’s status.

Speaking to PFT by phone after Sunday’s 34-7 win, Darnold said this when asked about his knee: “It’s good, and that’s as much as I’m gonna say about that.”

    He then said more.

Darnold confirmed that he’ll have an MRI tomorrow, and that they’ll take it from there.

Regardless of the results, he had a huge day for the Vikings, throwing four touchdown passes as the Vikings pushed their early-season record to 3-0.

Darnold's MRI is today, but he says he's good... hopefully he's right.

A little concern around the Vikings team about Jeffersons finger, but we'll know more on that later also.

But, yep, things are better than I anticipated. I wonder if the media that claims the Vikings are pretenders and posers and lucky etc, etc, will start to change their minds a bit? Beating the 49ers and Texans, albeit at home, is impressive, but if they can hang outdoors in Green Bay next week, the Vikings might need a bigger band-wagon, lol.

    And how about that defense?
