This is a tough one..

On the one hand Hill was going over 80 in a 50, so that certainly had cause for the stop, however at no point did they plan on detaining him, so I’m not sure they had cause for pulling him out of his car and they certainly used excessive force.

On the other hand, he had no sane reason for closing his window and refusing to open it back up. At that point it becomes a safety issue as the tint on the windows makes it impossible to discern what he is doing inside the vehicle.

IMHO there was wrongs committed by both sides and the story needs to die out. There’s enough going on in the world than to blow this up from both sides perspective.

Take your ticket, pay the fine, including something for resisting orders if need be, put the asshole cop on desk duty for a month and move on.

At no point did I think he was belligerent, he made a bad choice when rolling up the window in defiance.

At no point do I think it was about race and/or making someone with money pay for having money.

The cop felt disrespected, with cause, then WAY overreacted to the situation… end of story.

 

He had no business telling the cop not to touch his window. If he did open right away and leave it open the cop would have never touched it. If you get pulled over by the police why would you not open your window?

 

10 seconds into this video my heart just sank and I knew how this was gonna go.

Hill is one stupid motherfucker. All the stories/videos that are out there of what can happen when you fuck with these guys on a stop like this, and he comes at them with an attitude like that. Bellend. This was 100% ego on the part of Hill, 100% im a name so the rules don't apply to me. SEVEN times Hill told the cop don't knock on my window like that(it wasnt even a hard knock just a normal knock), continually ignoring what the cop was saying to repeat himself like a douchebag. Then he tells the cop to hurry up and give him a ticket(in my experience the most guaranteed way to not make the cop work any faster). Then he puts the window back up making the cop feel unsafe(there's plenty videos out there of cops being shot at from this position). Then when Hill finally puts his window back down a little he tells the cop don't tell me what to do. I mean if we look at this realistically im not sure what more you expect than Hill getting his ass dragged out the car.

Not that the cops get a pass. They were clearly excessive and unprofessional once things escalated imo. For sure Calais Campbell getting cuffed was outrageous(at least from what i saw). Actually it may only have been one cop who really got on the power trip im not sure. But thats the thing, there is always the potential to come across a cop who's an asshole. They're out there and they are just waiting for you step out of line. But if you deal with them in a respectful/professional manner they will deal with you in that same manner almost universally. With bodycams(one of the great tools to improve policing) they have virtually no choice if they wanna stay in the job.

Personally i found the Dolphins statement on the matter deeply disappointing. By all means call out the excessive behaviour of the police once the switch was flipped, but to not mention Hill's role in this was, imo, highly irresponsible. You don't get a pass on breaking the law and being an un-cooperative ass just cos of how things ended. They could've put across some important messaging about this to a highly impressionable demographic but instead they chose to just play the victim card. ESPN were even worse with that clown(former Pres of NFLPA?).

It amazes me that with all the stories/examples that are out there of what can happen, that Hill chose to go in with that kind of attitude. Oh and didn't he say in his postgame presser something to the effect of being respectful and co-operative during the whole encounter? So a liar as well then.

 

Ya. Just as everyone was hoping well for the Browns beyond pity and getting excited they got this bum and they gifted the Texans an instant SB window.

 

Kyle Shanahan: 49ers have to be careful with Christian McCaffrey’s Achilles tendinitis

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said running back Christian McCaffrey is dealing with both a calf injury and Achilles tendinitis, and he says the team will be cautious about not allowing McCaffrey to aggravate the injury.

Shanahan said on a conference call with reporters that the injury McCaffrey is dealing with now is similar to the calf injury that had him listed on the injury report before the playoff game against the Packers in January. McCaffrey played through that injury, and Shanahan said he would be playing now if it were the playoffs, but in the regular season they’re exercising more caution.

“I believe they’re similar, I know it was a calf then and it’s a calf now,” Shanahan told reporters on a conference call. “You guys can ask Christian more on that. Definitely, I believe if it was a playoff game he would’ve played. It’s not just the calf, it’s the Achilles, and the Achilles is tendinitis, and that stuff comes and goes. And when it is acting up it’s something you’ve got to be very careful about. Christian is very diligent about that stuff. If it was a playoff game, he made it very clear to me he believed he could go. But when you hear that type of stuff, and it’s not a playoff game, and it’s Week One, especially when you’re dealing with the lower extremities like that, it was a tough decision, but hearing all the words and stuff, in the long run it made it easy.”

Shanahan was not asked why the 49ers weren’t more transparent about McCaffrey’s injury, given that backup running back Jordan Mason said after Monday night’s game that he learned on Friday that he would be starting. Shanahan did describe McCaffrey as “day to day” because of his calf and Achilles.

Interesting stat brought up on the pre-game, something I didnt know or flat out forgot... Of the last 12 meetings between these 2 teams tonight, the Bills have one 11 of them. Thats why I picked the Dolphins in Baby's contest... law of averages, I guess.

Is Tua gonna retire already? He goes head-first into Hamlin and it isn't a crazy collision and he goes into the fencing position again.

 

I cant believe Tua with his injury plagued short career with at least 3 concussions, multiple broken bones and just signing an extension that sets him up for a lifetime, cant think to slide. The play he ran already gained the yardage for the 1st down and yet he lowers his head and doesnt even attempt to protect his head. Thats just not smart at all. I understand the competitors battlefield attitude, but you'd think he could also turn that competitive spirit down and do the smart thing. I watched that play about 4 times already this morning and I still cant believe what I just saw.

I hope he's going to be ok, but I hope he can tie his own shoes also.

 

This guy needs to be wearing the practice bubble helmet and a neck roll from the 80's... If we have more protective gear, why isn't it available for games?

I feel for this kid, he has a ton of talent, but has put the team first way too many times. He needed to protect himself and now, the way he looked on the field last night without a lot of contact... All I can say is he needs to retire to have any chance at a halfway normal life down the road.

In his defense, other than watching tape, I'm pretty sure he doesn't remember any of the bone head plays that caused the injuries. Tape is like watching someone else run the play...

 

My post about Tua may have come across as a little insensitive, I didnt mean it that way. I do wish he has a speedy recovery, so he can live life to the fullest. He is a phenomenal talent and from what I gather a decent human being and that counts for something in my book. The whole thing sucks for him, not just his football life, but his life in general.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Chiefs wide receiver Marquise "Hollywood" Brown will undergo surgery for his sternoclavicular injury and be placed on injured reserve, a source confirmed to ESPN on Friday.

Brown, who did not play in the Chiefs' season-opening win over the Baltimore Ravens, will have to miss at least the next four games, including Sunday's contest against the Cincinnati Bengals at Arrowhead Stadium.

The Chiefs' major offseason free agent signing, Brown suffered a dislocation of one of the shoulder joints after catching a pass on the first play of Kansas City's first preseason game Aug. 10 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

49ers running back Christian McCaffrey won’t play against the Vikings this Sunday and it may be several weeks before he rejoins the lineup.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan ruled McCaffrey out during a Friday press conference and he said that an injured reserve stint is a consideration for the running back. Shanahan said that the team will be discussing that possibility over the next 24 hours and McCaffrey, who has calf and Achilles injuries, would miss at least four games if the team does go that direction.

McCaffrey didn’t play in the first game of the regular season, although the Niners waited until gameday to rule him out that time. Shanahan said on Friday that McCaffrey experienced the most pain he’s had on Thursday, which likely led to the decision to rule him out and put injured reserve into the conversation.

Jordan Mason will be in line to start at running back until McCaffrey returns to action.

While McCaffrey was the main storyline, Shanahan said the 49ers will also be listing safety Talanoa Hufanga (knee) as doubtful and linebacker Dee Winters (ankle) as questionable.

 

LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The Chicago Bears' injury-depleted wide receiver corps received a boost of optimism Friday, as Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze were designated as questionable for "Sunday Night Football" against the Houston Texans and coach Matt Eberflus said the team would treat both as game-time decisions.

Allen (heel) did not practice for a third straight day Friday while Odunze (knee) was a limited participant after two days with the DNP designation.

"We'll take it all the way up to the game, potentially work them out before the game and then see where they are prior to the game," Eberflus said. "That's where those guys are."
