Don't like what you saw today? Get used to it. These guys are signed for a l o n g time. But, hey, we can celebrate having all that salary cap, right?
On the bright side, Dustin Hopkins and Bojorquez played well……,that’s all. There is no more to the bright side.
That was phuquing ugly. No offense, no defense, glad I can still make it to the lake for a few months PS
The garbage can, the fat lady, its perfect. Hope we all eat fried crow soon, but im not changing my diet just yet.
If this is new and doesn’t fall under the NFL agreement for his last transgressions, maybe we have an out and will just suck without him and his anchor of a contract.
im not convinced we will suck without him. I’m also not convinced the team didn’t know before last night and played him anyway. this might give the team reason to rally around Winston.
I'm asking because I'm making a sauce for my crow . . . Can a woman file criminal charges against Watson and then STILL file civil charges regardless of the verdict in the criminal trial?
Regardless, has she ever filed criminal charges? I haven't seen anything on that.... On another note... There is a lot to unpack here... I'm not sure the Browns can get out of this contract regardless of this new incident. This is a civil case, which is a complaint, not a "charge" as is in the body of the clause in question. A charge would be brought about in criminal cases. The one saving grace is the underlined sentence... IF the league were to suspend Watson due to this new allegation alone AND this person was not disclosed in writing prior to signing the contract, the Browns should be able to argue an out. If the Browns did know about this one in advance, then shame on them and fuck the Browns front office. Haslem and the front office should be replaced by the league similar to what happened to Daniel Snyder. Look, I like what the Haslems are doing as far as investing in the team and the area in and around Cleveland. Except for the trade of Deshaun Watson and the questionable signing of Kareem Hunt to a much lessor extent, the Haslems have been a major addition to Cleveland professional sports.. THIS ONE though, I have been against since the rumors began and something needs to be done to end this guys career in the NFL. I unabashedly side with victims of alleged sex crimes. Nothing has been proven that this took place, BUT, the circumstances around all of the other allegations and subsequent pay offs should have forbid him of re-entering the league in the first place. BECAUSE of his history, I have no option but to side with the sense that there is merit to this latest allegation. That is my public service announcement on the allegation...
Based the Florio information, it kinda smells like the Browns could have voided the contract when the first (or second, or third) round of civil suits were filed.
These were disclosed in writing, I believe. So, anything that was disclosed would not void the contract. I am assuming, 2.5 years into the contract and no previous filings from this young woman, this one SHOULD be able to be used to void the contract. If I'm Dee Haslem, I am in Little Jimmy's office right now demanding he works through the paperwork with the league and players union TODAY to get him his release without penalty.
That's not how I recall the events at that time, but, my memory is close to tapioca pudding any more.
