Browns fear high-ankle sprain for David Njoku Browns tight end David Njoku left Sunday’s loss to the Cowboys with an ankle injury and it will be some time before he’s back in the lineup if initial reports about the severity of the injury are confirmed. According to multiple reports, the Browns fear Njoku suffered a high-ankle sprain during the 33-17 home loss. Further testing is set for Monday to determine the extent of the injury. Njoku would likely be out for several weeks if it is a high-ankle sprain and that would be a blow to a Browns offense that looked like it needs all the help it can get during the loss to the Cowboys. Njoku, who was in a walking boot in the locker room, had four catches for 44 yards before leaving the game. PFT
The Los Angeles Rams lost wide receiver Puka Nacua for the majority of Sunday's 26-20 overtime loss to the Detroit Lions due to a knee injury. The question that remains is how long the second-year star will be sidelined. Nacua initially suffered the knee injury when he was tackled following a 6-yard reception in the middle of the second quarter. Nacua briefly returned to action toward the end of the first half, but the return was short-lived. The NBC broadcast later showed him being carted to the locker room, and Nacua was ruled out after halftime. Rams head coach Sean McVay did not have an update on Nacua's injury following Sunday's game. With Nacua sidelined, Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford relied primarily on veteran Cooper Kupp against the Lions. Stafford targeted Kupp 21 times (a career-high for Kupp), and the two connected for 14 completions for 110 yards and a touchdown.
