This extra week off is BS. I AM READY FOR FOOTBALL DAMN IT. I get it, labor day which is why everything starts next week, but I want it NOW. Kids hockey, daughter ice skating + dance, football, hell even the NHL.

We do it every year, I'll post it this year, and we can all reminisce at the end of the year how blang nailed it again. Copy the list and give me your predictions.

    Week 1 - vs Titans
    Week 2 - @ Texans
    Week 3 - @ Colts
    Week 4 - vs Rams
    Week 5 - vs Carolina

    Week 3 - @ Colts - L
    Week 4 - vs Rams - W
    Week 5 - vs Carolina - W
Week 6 - vs Jacksonville - W (Who knows with the Jags though)
    Week 7 - BYE
    Week 8 - @ Redskins - W
Week 9 - @ Cardinals - L (Every year this team should be better than it is, but Murray and MHJ, half a year to get ready? They could be pretty good)
    Week 10 - vs Patriots - W
    Week 11- vs Peckers - L
    Week 12 - vs Viqueens - W

That gives me 9-8. I could see a bunch of these games going either way though, Texans don't have me convinced of anything, might be due for a regression, Colts have been hard to nail down, Rams and Stafford? Jags? I have us splitting with the Vikings, but I could easily see a sweep there, and a loss somewhere earlier in the season.

Think Caleb’s going to have some growing pains. I see them playing especially stupid football against a Vikes team starting bums at qb with JJ out for the year and giving us 2 heart attacks, pulled out of ass wins. GB is going to stomp this team twice and I’ll hate it and wonder if it’ll be Doubs or the other kid from ND who becomes the next bears slayer, because the bears will just be a stupid football team.

8-10 wins seems the range. Please be better than Justin, Caleb.

The Lions are the Lions yes, but they were decent last year and trending up the year before. They could regress, but they'll be a tough out regardless. I think a split is fair, but I also could see the Bears getting swept, or the Bears sweeping. Divisional games (outside of the fucking Packers) are the hardest to call.

    10-7

I think the floor is somewhere around 7-8 wins...there's too much talent on both sides of the ball. The ceiling is probably 12 if everything went perfect and they had some luck and so on. So I land somewhere in the middle at 10.

Well done varder, always good to do and look back on

Week 1 - vs Titans W (i've written w but note they could easily lose this game. Every bears source i've seen has an opening day win priced in, Titans may surprise.)
    Week 2 - @ Texans L
    Week 3 - @ Colts L
    Week 4 - vs Rams L
    Week 5 - vs Carolina W
Week 6 - vs Jacksonville L (i'm at this one so nailed on L, prob have to watch the backup starting too like in '19)
    Week 7 - BYE
Week 8 - @ Redskins W (team finds its feet after the bye and goes on a win streak)
    Week 9 - @ Cardinals W
    Week 10 - vs Patriots W
    Week 11- vs Peckers W
Week 12 - vs Viqueens W (By this point the talking heads and CCS are creaming themselves and talking SB, it doesn't last.)
    Week 13 - @ Loins L
    Week 14 - @ 49ers L
Week 15 - @ Viqueens L (They ship a game they have no right losing and make Sam Darnold look all-pro)
    Week 16 - vs Loins L
    Week 17 - vs Seahawks W
    Week 18 - @ Peckers L (of course)

8-9 Some Eberflus game management is factored in. A few real coin toss games that could send this number higher tho. Split with Vikes and Inbreds, swept by Loins for last time in a long time.

A season with some big peaks and big troughs. Ultimately they run out of steam, but some major signs of potential for the following season. Team gets serious about lack of playmakers on DL ready for big push to win the division in 2025.

I think anything less than 9 wins with this team and this schedule would be a disappointment.
The Bears play .500 ball going into the bye as Caleb adjusts to the NFL. Those losses during that adjustment period could likely be wins if they occurred later in the season, and games like the Niners, Packers@home, and Lions@home put in their place.
They split across the board with the divisional matchups based solely on home-field advantage.

I'm always too superstitious to do a W-L prediction, but I will say this:

The talent at the skill positions is enough. The talent in the back 7 on defense is enough. Can the defensive line get it done? That's counting on Sweat, Dexter, and Booker (?) to really play on fire. And we know the offensive line won't block enough for Caleb, so can the OC adjust well enough? Will the off-schedule plays be enough to save an offense that probably won't look very good on-schedule most of the time?

Who in that building do they have to talk to Caleb and coach him through what is probably going to be a tough season on him (pressure, rookie year, etc)? I know that Flus was trying to take that role on himself, as we saw on Hard Knocks, but... boy, I really hope they have someone else to do that in the middle of the season if they've lost a few games in a row.

If there are positive answers to these questions, then I think the most optimistic projections are likely to come true. If there are negative answers to these questions, then we're in for a rougher year than people might think. As always, I'll be excited to find out. I appreciate y'all and can't wait to talk football with you for another season. One of the genuinely great joys in my life that I don't take for granted, because I know how unique it is. Could be stuck talking to the Viking fan fucks I live next to. No, thanks.

    Cheers, y'all!

We'd expect nothing else rob, besides its not so optimistic as to be silly. Interesting that you have the home team losing both times in the rivalry game.

I thought a lot about those games. How story book would it be. Packers vs Bears with a playoff bid on the line. After falling to the hated Packers in his first matchup against them at home Williams gets his revenge with much more at stake.

  15. EvertonBears M.V.P. Bears

It would be very story book. My only problem is that normally in those story-book-potential, playoffs-on-the-line end of season games against those fuckers, its always our team that winds up taking a big black dildo up the ass.

Usually in the last minute on a deep throw down the field.

  17. patg006 M.V.P. Bears

Usually with the qb avoiding a sack 3-4 times in a sequence and perfectly throws it where the cb can’t get it.

Completely unrelated, but Fuck Erin Rodgers.

Which brings me to my biggest worry about this team. Most are worried about how good Williams will be. I’m more worried about Flus’s defense. I just don’t have the confidence that he will maximize the talent he has with the scheme he likes to run. If he falters and the team bombs due to defensive issues we might see a new staff despite Williams performing well.

I thought the brain damage would keep you away from the Bears forum. In the Bears 105 year history, they have only won 2 or less games once (1 win in 1969). Contrast that with the Steelers, who have accomplished that feat 11 times. Yet THIS year, with a weak schedule, are going to lose to....checking notes here, Redskins, Cards, Patriots, Colts, Jags AND CAROLINA. Wow.

I know you're just trolling/spouting nonsense, but avatar bet? Over/under 4 wins for the Bears, I take the over, you the under (even gave you a game). Loser wears the avatar of the winners choice until the end of the 2025 season. But I know you won't, because you know this is nonsense, heh.
