Dont know why so many of my fellow steelers fans want Aiyuk hes the nest Owens/Diggs the talent is great but they are never team first players.
Even after winning their second straight Super Bowl, the Kansas City Chiefs knew they needed to upgrade their wide receiver room. They attempted to do that by signing Marquise "Hollywood" Brown to a one-year contract that could be worth up to $11 million for the 2024 season. Despite the relatively small investment, the Chiefs are still counting on him to be a major player in their offense, and he certainly brings plenty of big-play potential. That is why they had to be a little concerned on Saturday night when he left the game with a shoulder injury on the very first snap of the preseason. Brown caught an 11-yard pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes and was driven into the ground on the tackle. The Chiefs already announced that it is a shoulder injury, but the severity is not yet known. YARDBARKER
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquise "Hollywood" Brown suffered a sternoclavicular joint dislocation in Saturday's preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars and was at a local hospital being checked out, head coach Andy Reid said after the game. Reid compared Brown's injury to the one Tyreek Hill suffered in the 2019 season, coincidentally also against the Jaguars. Reid said he expected Brown to "potentially" miss some time. Hill missed four games with the similar injury in 2019. "I think he'll miss some time. We'll just see where it's at, I mean, I said that they're kind of going through it right now and we'll know more later on," Reid said after the game, via team transcripts.
Giants fans everywhere are holding their breath right now. Rookie receiver Malik Nabers suffered an apparent foot injury during practice on Sunday morning. Via Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News, it started when Nabers removed his left shoe and limped off the practice field. Per Leonard, “Nabers was reaching down and touching the top outside of his left foot.” He then sat down with his sock off while being looked at by three members of the training staff. When Nabers stood, he was moving very slowly. We’ll continue to monitor the situation for any updates. It could be nothing. Until we know, it’s something to be concerned about. per/PFT

Jarrett Stidham got the start, but rookie Bo Nix got the scoring started for the Denver Broncos. Nix, the 12th overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft, made his preseason debut in Sunday's 34-30 win over the Indianapolis Colts and led the Broncos on four scoring drives to highlight an excellent initial showing. In five drives, Nix quarterbacked the Broncos to a pair of touchdowns and two field goals, with a laser of a 1-yard touchdown to Marvin Mims included. His final line saw him complete 15 of 21 passes for 125 yards and the touchdown with a 102.3 passer rating, complemented by three runs for 17 yards. In comparison, Stidham was 4-of-7 for 37 yards, no TDs, an interception and a 32.1 rating. In fairness to the veteran, neither his interception nor the two fruitless drives he led were hardly on him. "All three of them did a good job," Payton said, including Zach Wilson, who played the majority of the second half and completed 10 of 13 passes for 117 yards. Report: Steelers rookie Troy Fautanu to miss two weeks with knee injury Steelers first-round pick Troy Fautanu is reportedly set to miss time with the knee injury he suffered in the team’s preseason opener. Multiple reporters at the team’s facility on Sunday noted that Fautanu was wearing a brace on his left knee when he arrived to Sunday’s practice. Fautanu did not dress for the practice and Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette reports that he is expected to be out two weeks as a result of the injury. That’s obviously better news than a long-term absence, but it will still cost Fautanu some development time heading into his rookie season. Dan Moore started at left tackle with Broderick Jones at right tackle on Friday and the injury to Fautanu may mean that will be the way the Steelers will line up in Week One as well. PFT
'Mic'D Up' should a regular thing on some Sundays. Id think it would be fun to let the players call the game... uncensored of course.
CLEVELAND -- The Browns' proposal to leave the lakefront and play in a new domed stadium in Cleveland's suburbs has hit a major snag. In a letter sent to team owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam, Cuyahoga County officials said Sunday that they're backing a proposed $1.2 billion renovation of the team's current stadium and are committed to keeping the NFL franchise in downtown Cleveland "for generations to come." The team last week unveiled renderings for a $2.4 billion state-of-the-art stadium and entertainment complex to be built in Brook Park, Ohio, about 15 miles south of Cleveland. The Haslams, who have owned the Browns since 2012, believe a new stadium that could host year-round events, potentially a Super Bowl and Final Fours, would trigger development and economic growth for the entire Northeast Ohio region. The Browns' proposal came after the city of Cleveland offered to give $461 million toward a massive renovation of the current 65,000-seat stadium, which was built in 1999, and the redevelopment of its surrounding property. In the letter signed by county executive Chris Ronayne and council president Pernel Jones Jr., the county argued that a new stadium "does not make fiscal sense" for Cuyahoga's residents and taxpayers. "Moreover, any proposal that would create an unacceptable risk to the County's general fund cannot be considered," the letter stated. "We believe it is our responsibility and in the best interests of our community to prioritize reinvestment in existing public assets." In a statement, the Haslams acknowledged that a stadium renovation or new project "is incredibly complex." "We have been reminded many times that the issues with the current stadium resulted from a rushed process that was not thorough and don't want that repeated," they said. "We have received the county's response and are still in the process of gathering information and doing diligence on both paths. It would be short-sighted for Northeast Ohio to rule out any options at this point for a long-term decision of this magnitude." Funding for the dome/complex project figured to be a major challenge with the Haslams proposing a 50-50 private/public partnership in the $2.4 billion project. They said bonds could cover the public portion with the money coming from revenue generated by the dome and its surrounding hotels and retail sites. The Browns' current stadium lease ends after the 2028 season. The team has played on the site since its inception in 1946. Part of the county's argument is that having the Browns downtown is essential to a vibrant city core, and officials pointed to public investments in Progressive Field, home of the Cleveland Guardians, and an expansion at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as signs of urban development. "The stadium is more than just a venue. The team represents the heart and soul of Northeast Ohio, and reinforces our community's identity and pride," the letter read. ESPN
Hearing early reports Aiyuk is headed to Pittsburgh... Im checking to see if the reports are real. The first deal I seen was HUGE, so Im on this.... stay tuned.
I’m not sure Aiyuk will help the Steelers as much as everybody thinks. He’s in a 9ers offense that is one of the best coached in the league and sets up players for success. Aiyuk is like the fourth skill player on the totem pole which means he’s hardly ever seen double coverage. Him and Pickens are basically the same player. I don’t believe that the Steelers need to get a WR now. Wait and see what the trade deadline brings up.
Haason Reddick requested a trade from the Jets earlier today. The Jets said; no way. Reddick who was just signed in April has been holding out. Im thinking Reddick should have discussed these contract things in April before signing, but what do I know.
