The 9ers are only willing to pay him 26 million a season, with the WR market there’s no way an all-pro one is going to be satisfied with that price.
And thats what pisses me off. They already offered him around 26 or even a couple million higher in some reports, so whats a couple of million bucks when your talkin mega-millions?
I really don’t like Aiyuk, but the writing is on the wall that he is going to the Steelers. He posted a picture of him and Tomlin side by side looking like father and son they looked so much alike. The whole key is that he wants to play for Tomlin and the 9ers aren’t going to get what they want because they have to deal with the Wrath of Khan.
The other thing, Pickens can’t be part of the trade nor Friermuth. Those two players are better than Aiyuk and it would hurt the offense more than help it. My prediction is 2nd rd pick and James Daniel’s is the compensation. The 9ers aren’t in the drivers seat. Khan is.
Aiyuk is better than Freiermuth and Pickens currently. I agree neither would be part of the deal, but Daniels is the tricky one. He’s only got one more year in his deal, but the inexperience stepping in would be damaging
The coaches really like McCormick. Frisco could use a good oline man. I prefer To stand pat if you have to include either of them. If Pickens was traded then we just are paying a lot more money to have the same offense as we would have had without Aiyuk.
More and more smoke on the Aiyuk to Pittsburgh front... I think it's going to happen before the weekend.
At the way it seems like things are progressing, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s done by later tonight.
Why do players want to play for Tomlin so badly? Fields wanted to and netted the Bears less compensation, it looks like Aiyuk will do the same.
He’s one of the most respected coaches amongst players. He’s very likable, and is a players coach. He’s willing to go to war with them and for them. You can’t ask for much more out of a coach.
Falcons WR Rondale Moore carted off with air cast on leg The second day of joint practices between the Dolphins and Falcons featured fights between the two teams, but the session came to an early end for a different reason. According to multiple reports, Falcons wide receiver Rondale Moore was injured during a drill at the Dolphins facility and he had an air cast put on his right leg. He was then loaded onto a cart to leave the field and he was transported to a local medical center for further evaluation. Practice came to an end after the injury. Moore joined the Falcons this offseason in a trade with the Cardinals that sent quarterback Desmond Ridder to Arizona. He had 40 catches for 352 yards and a touchdown while with the Cardinals last season. PFT ______ ______________ The beat goes on.
An ascending receiver is on the mend in Indianapolis. Josh Downs suffered a high ankle sprain when he was taken down by safety Nick Cross during a 7-on-7 drill during Colts practice Wednesday and is estimated to miss 4-6 weeks while recovering, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per a source. Head coach Shane Steichen told reporters after practice that they "have to be smart" regarding Cross' takedown. Downs proved himself as a steady slot receiver for the Colts as a rookie, catching 68 passes for 771 yards and two touchdowns despite running routes for both Anthony Richardson and backup Gardner Minshew in 2023. He was expected to play an even larger role in Steichen's offense in 2024, but the injury will hamper his progress toward that goal. NFL.com
The NFL is putting clubs participating in joint practices on notice regarding fights. The NFL confirmed on Wednesday that the Detroit Lions and New York Giants organizations have each been fined $200,000 after multiple fights broke out between the clubs earlier this week, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport, Mike Garafolo and Tom Pelissero reported. Teams were reminded in a July memo that fighting and unprofessional conduct at joint practices would not be tolerated. _____ _____________ Thats all fine & dandy, but there have been more fights than that.
The first note is that from what I'm reading, the "fights" weren't a big deal. Things got heated. The coaches brought everybody together (both teams) in a sort of huddle and told them to chill out. Everybody chilled out. The injury to Moore was away from the action on the play, so the reports are sketchy on the details. The pass went to one corner and then everyone turned and saw Moore on the ground on the other side. It was near the end of the practice anyway. Everything stopped so they could get the cart out to him, and by then there wasn't enough time left for there to start another 11-on-11 session, so that wrapped it up. I have no details yet, but from the reactions of other players, they seem to think Moore is headed to IR. As the article noted, he's the guy that the Falcons got from the Cardinals in exchange for Desmond Ridder. Heading into OTAs, you would have thought that Moore would have been a lock as the team's main slot receiver. But Ray-Ray McCloud seems to have stepped up and taken over that role. More recently, Moore started getting more reps as part of a 2-WR formation across from Drake London, with London/Darnell Mooney/McCloud acting as the first unit 3-WR package. So it sucks for Moore, but it's not as devastating for Atlanta as the Harry Douglas injury was in 2009, for example. (Okay, old and obscure example, but that one still leaps to mind for me because I was less than 20 feet away from Douglas when he wrecked his knee. He was set to be the slot WR and return man that year, and GM Thomas Dimitroff didn't maintain depth with only one other legit WR behind him.) The Falcons still have Drake London and Darnell Mooney as the two top WRs with the now-healthy Kyle Pitts as the #1 TE and McCloud as the top slot receiver. KhaDarel Hodge and sixth rounder Casey Washington lead the pack in the battles for the reserve WR roster spots.
Good to see you here @Torgo Going to be very interesting to see how that Falcons offense rolls under Cousins leadership. He really was on a hot streak before the injury. Im going to have to look into McCloud... Im not familiar with him at all. Things ought to be real entertaining in Atlanta this year... I suspect you may already have high hopes. I always do going into a new campaign, but usually just to get my hopes dashed upon the rocks. Good luck.
