On appeal it could be reduced to 6 games . Wondering how Beanie Bishop is looking he’s the UDFA slot CB who has a shot to stick

He should have at least a 6 week extended tryout. Wouldn’t be surprised if Sutton got cut if Bishop (or whoever plays the slot) exceeds expectations.

He’s not appealing, it’ll be 8 games. Don’t think they would cut him regardless of how the slot cbs play. Think he’ll stick around as depth and injury protection. Steelers knew it was coming, made the deal anyways.

Sutton shouldn't have been brought back to begin with. They new a suspension was looming but that isn't even the reason you don't bring him back. You don't bring him back because of what he did. Yes you can argue we don't know exactly what happened but we do know he evaded the police for 3 weeks. Steelers fans ran to criticize the Browns for bringing in Watson (despite the Steelers hanging on to Ben) and now they have to swallow it as the Steelers bring back Sutton. There is no arguing to which is worse both are vile actions and IMHO neither man should be playing ball in the NFL.

Depot is predicting Logan Lee doesn’t make the 53. I disagree . My simulator/mock I took 2 DL you’ll hit on one of them as Cam is winding down .

I think he makes it too. Leal, Loudermilk, and Adams are all at risk imo.

The more I read up on Walter Nolan, he could be another steal mid second, similar to Keanu Benton. My last simulator I grabbed him and Jordan Burch. Pittsburgh has been trying to replace Stephon Tuitt forever, and now Cam is one step away from hanging up the cleats. I said it before, they need to go DL in the first few rounds. If you pass on WR in round 1, you are getting sloppy seconds, huge gap between talent. I don't see this as good as a class as 2024. Ebuka, let's see his production without MHJ before we anoint him as a lock for Pittsburgh. Luther Burden III ain't going to be there and probably not McMillan either. Could a CB fall to them? That's the $64,000 question. I mean shit The Eagles stepped in gold manure getting Quinyon Mitchell at 24. This was all predicated on teams with the reacharoo on QB. Is Bo Nix really a first rounder, or JJ McCarthy, all these GM's trying to catch lightening in a bottle and coaches praying they picked right, mortgaging their job security.
Here are the dudes I would target as of today for Defensive Line.

Mason Graham- never going to fall to them and neither is Luther Burden, so I have been taking Starks on my simulator, BPA, Minkah can't play forever.
Walter Nolan- excited to see Texas A&M play likely available day 2. His teammate Shemar Turner, keep an eye on him too.
TJ Sanders South Carolina, probably a round 3-4 guy
Rylie Mills Notre Dame size and production rated just behind Sanders.
Jordan Burch Oregon. This is one of my sleeper guys, and a Bruce Fieldman Freak list guy. Eerily similar size to Tuitt.

For early consideration the short guys with alligator arms, and the guys over 330 I steered away from. (Walker and Grant) I also didn't put guys who are light in the pants, 280 and under on my list, (Tuimalo, Sawyer) New Regime with Omar, they may look at someone like Tyliek Williams. Not sure how it works, but Karl Dunbar is really the key guy in finding the body type to fit what they try to do. Man I would love to sit down with him and learn, seems like a righteous dude.

2026 draft, I will be there when The Steelers select Carson Bruener. I am willing to put up cash with the proper odds, that will be a target of theirs. I may even bring a sign so everyone knows that I know and knew it. His coverage ability is huge. Like I mentioned, if they can get a guy like Jay Higgins in 2025 to back up Queen and Wilson, that would be huge. In my simulator he is almost always gone when pick 78 comes up.

Ran another simulator that I liked. Taking some familiar names, some new options. Made a trade that was fictitious, but hey all of this is fiction, just a fun exercise to educate myself for the upcoming draft.
    15. Malki Starks BPA, he has star written all over him, Complete safety can play in the box or drop deep, a real chess piece.
46.Jay Higgins LB Iowa. I really feel he is going to be a true 3 down LB I wanted Walter Nolan here, he was long gone.
    47. Drew Allar QB Penn State. Ok it's a steal, not realistic, but hey that's what the site let me do. Allar has size and upside, a good pocket passer who can sit and learn if they keep Fields, or Wilson.
    78. Barion Brown WR Kentucky. Length and blazing speed and solid returner, that will ultimately replace Patterson.
    142. Daylen Everette CB Georgia another talented Georgia player for the secondary
    146. Rylie Mills DL Notre Dame. You guys know the name, this is a frigging steal mid 5th.
    184. Jonah Manheim OT USC. Footwork for Pass Pro is off the charts. He needs polish as a run blocker. End of 6th getting a rotational OT is smart drafting.
    196. Trey Moore OLB Texas. if you get a chance watch some film, his first step is a game changer.
    206. Phil Mafah RB Clemson, a cheap version of Najee, not as nimble, but a chain mover.

I stand corrected Carson Bruener will be playing his Senior season at Washington, and is rated pretty low, I watched him blanket the TE on several occasions. I will have to reevaluate his status and if you want to kick me off my milk crate, I get it. Still high on Jon Pius as a sleeper OLB from Wisconsin.

My latest mock draft is on X, formerly twitter. you need to open up my posts.

    -MIke

    @MOxhertz45809

    14. Tetairoa McMillan WR Arizona
38.(traded up, gave up 46, 146) Walter Nolan DL Texas A&M
    78. Connor Weigman QB Texas A&M
    142. Nic Emmanori DB South Carolina
    184. Jordan Burch DL Oregon
    196. Jake Bringstool TE Clemson
    206. Jon Pius OLB Wisconsin

Two biggest needs, not before Free agency are WR and DL. I took Nolan and Burch, one of them will blossom into the next Stephon Tuitt perhaps. Both of them have huge upside but really haven't put it all together. Remember this is a mock draft a month before College football even starts. McMillan was a no brainer, sign a young gifted WR on a rookie deal. I took Weigman over Riley ND, just think he sees the field better. No idea how Bringstool feel to me in the end of the 6th, he is graded late 4th. THe knock on him is his weight, but he runs the seam and is a nightmare to cover over the middle. The thing is he is 6-6 and McMillan is 6-5 two HUGE targets in the end zone, 'nuff said. I am not backing down on Pius until he gets injured or plays like dog shit. They will be able to find a RB to replace Najee as a FA or UDFA, Warren will become the RB1 in 2025. And then there is Emmanori, a Bruce Feldman Freak of an athlete. A DB who is 6-3 227 lbs. and runs a 4.3, secure tackler in the box, covers TE over the middle, these guys don't grow on trees. I truly believe he is the answer to SS for the Steelers.

One note here. The top 25 athletic freaks of the 2024 NFL draft........ drumroll.
    4. Peyton Wilson LB NC State
    6. Roman Wilson WR Michigan

I shit you not. So for 2025 I am really going to pay attention to the list. There is a good article on the DL class on "With the First Pick" from 5/22/24 just google it.

Ran another simulator, it's a cluster of top end CB talent who are better prospects over the WR group past Burden and McMillan.
So I slid back from 14 to 18, and picked up pick 82. Then I moved back from 82 to 85 and picked up 117 and giving 146, but I still had 142 a solid pick in the 5th, no huge gaps.
    18. Ben Morrison CB Notre Dame
    46. Drew Allar QB PSU
    78. Tez Johnson WR Oregon
    85. Shemar Turner DL Texas A&M
    117. Riley Mills DL Notre Dame
    142. Clay Webb OG Jackson State
    184. , Rueben Fatheree III OT Texas A&M
    196. Theo Weisse WR Missouri
    206. Jadyn Ott RB California

Taking 2 OL players for depth, taking 2 DL to inject youth. Taking 2 WR to boost talent in the room. Drew Allar won't be there, but in this exercise he was, so I drafted the QB of the future. Ott is interesting, under the radar, I can see them taking a RB late.
Ben Morrison opposite JPJ for a few years to come, this will allow the pass rushers to get home . Really there are 5 CB's in the top 25, only 3 WR if you like Egbuka. In this simulator all 3 were gone by 14, so I slid back and got Morrison at 18 the 3rd rated CB and a top 12 pick.

Still high on Walter Nolen, several sites did not disclose his Transfer to Ole Miss. Any posts saying Texas A&M change to Mississippi as I now have the updated information.
Pencil in August 24th, Florida State vs. Georgia Tech. Players to watch.

Florida State, 2 edge rushers Patrick Peyton first round talent, Marvin Jones Jr. late day 3 talent. Two CB's, both 7th round or UDFA Fentrell Cypress, Azereye'h Thomas
Georgia Tech: Christian Leary WR, late round or UDFA.
