I wouldn’t be surprised if they target a NT at some point and move Benton to DE once Cam is done.

 

Depot has a good article out, taking Ben Morrison CB Notre Dame as Pittsburgh's first pick. One could only hope this is a direction they could go. I would argue though that WR is the best value at projected 14th overall. With the silly money these wideouts are getting, getting a Burden or similar on a rookie deal is a no brainer. How many desperate teams will take a QB early, well six of those franchises are not in the mix in 2025, I am trying to figure out who the next 6 are. Top of my head it would be the Raiders, Saints, Jets, Cowboys, Giants, maybe the Rams?

Walter Football has Steelers taking Will Johnson CB Michigan, I have Morrison rated above him. Plus they pass on Luther Burden and Mason Graham. That ain't happening guys.

The pick will depend on a couple of factors. Will Trice, Rush, Watt, Sutton, Bishop, & Jackson can we get 3 quality DBs out of this group?
Is Cam going to play a full season ?
Do they sign a FA WR before April 2025.

I got 2 guys I would have top of my board. Luther Burden and Mason Graham period but I’m guessing they’re gone.

QB, TE RB G/C OT LB

 

Film doesn’t lie for him. Elite cover skills and efficient in zone. Top 15 in his recruiting class and was a 1st team AA last year. The kid is an elite talent no matter, what uniform he wears (although I’m more than thrilled it’s the maize n blue).

 

I wouldn’t rule out ILB as a potential need. However, edge is absolutely a need. The depth is there and the starters are signed long term.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY

Break down this mock, my thoughts. Again draftnuts like me have been doing mocks since Mr. Irrelevant was picked a few months ago.

Steelers: Drafting 14th, they are letting Burden and Morrison go right before they pick, Ain't happening, they would move up.
Panthers are trading back with possibly NYG, Dallas, Las Vegas who will draft Carson Beck, write this down this is not a wild prediction, it's common sense.
Patriots are not taking a DT here, they will most likely trade back a bit, then grab James PIerce or Will Johnson. Mayo is a defensive minded guy I would guess Pierce myself.
Arizona is not getting Mason Graham at 7, he will go top 5, ahead of some of the OT's.
Chargers will not take Colston Loveland. He is a very talented TE but not as generational as Brock Bowers. (Even though Harbaugh is a Michigan guy)
Bungles: They are going to need another WR, I see them targetting WR over RB.
Chiefs: Love the pick of Walter Nolen, sleeper DT and Chris Jones cannot play forever. If there is a stud CB available, they might go that direction too.
Vikings taking Deon Walker that is the third DT in the top 10. The value for rookie contract is really QB, WR, Edge, OT
Jets will not be getting Tetairoa McMIllan at 21, they would have to move up. Watching them draft over the years they will something retarded. (see passing on OT in 2023 and Rodgers getting crushed)
Cowboys will move on from Dak, I hope it doesn't happen but I can see them taking Drew Allar.
Five DL in the first round, not sure I buy this, or the 5 CBs.

There is an OT out of North Carolina State I think is going to be a good pro. If they move on from Dan Moore Jr. I think Anthony Belton might be a good target. He fits the physical type of swing tackle they would covet.

 

I actually wouldn’t mind Travis Hunter. Dudes a freak athlete that can actually play CB at a high level.

 

I still think they go DL in round 1.
Will they look at Deone Walker, dude is a house, but a 2 down player.

 

I wouldn’t be surprised if QB is the pick either, if they can’t extend either guy and/or bring in another vet.

 

Well looks like we'll be without Sutton for 8 weeks due to suspension

 

Not much of a surprise. I expected 10-12, but the 8 will probably get dropped down to 6 upon an appeal.

 

That also means that he will be available during the stretch of games against the division and Chiefs at the end of the season.
