The Godfather producer Al Ruddy dies aged 94
Al Ruddy, who produced the Oscar-winning films "The Godfather" and "Million Dollar Baby," died May 25 in Los Angeles. He was 94.

 

There is a website called the death list that puts out a list of the 50 most likely people to die prior to the start of the year. So far only 3 of the 50 have passed.

 

FRISCO, Texas – Larry Allen, arguably one of the greatest players in the history of the Cowboys and perhaps the best offensive linemen in the NFL history, has passed away far too soon.

Allen died on Sunday at the age of just 52 years old. He was vacationing in Mexico with his family when he passed away.

Inducted as a first-ballot Hall of Famer in 2013, Allen was a member of the All-Decade team both in the 1990s and 2000s. From 1994 to 2007, Allen played 14 seasons in the NFL, including the first 12 with the Cowboys.

Allen is one of three Cowboys in team history with double-digit Pro Bowl selections. He had 10 Pro Bowls and seven All-Pro selections with the Cowboys. Allen finished his playing career with the 49ers and earned an 11th Pro Bowl in 2006.

 

Star Wars franchise star Maria De Aragon has passed away. The actress was best known for playing Greedo in the original Star Wars movie released by director George Lucas in 1977.

It's noted how George Lucas wasn't satisfied with the original footage shot with Paul Blake playing the Greedo character, which "needed to seem more animated." That led to having De Aragon take on the role to shoot close-ups of the character speaking during the memorable scene in which Greedo is killed by Harrison Ford's Han Solo.

"Maria has expressed during many Q&A/panels when asked 'What do you think of Harrison Ford' she would respond 'He kills me.' (with a laugh)," the post added.

Queen Elizabeth lookalike and actress Jeanette Charles dies aged 96
Jeanette Charles died at a care home in Great Beddow in Essex on Sunday, surrounded by her family.
She was well known for appearing as the Queen in films like Austin Powers and the Naked Gun.

 

Actor Tom Bower, best known for his roles in "The Waltons" and "Die Hard 2," died last week. He was 86.

Kevin Brophy, whose credits include the TV series Lucan and films Hell Night and The Long Riders, died on May 11 at the age of 70,

Hiram Kasten, the New York comedian who gained popularity on sitcoms including Seinfeld has died. He was 71.

Kasten died Sunday in the arms of his wife, Diana Kisiel Kastenbaum, in their New York home “only hours after their 38th wedding anniversary,” following a battle with prostate cancer and Crohn's disease, according to an obituary published by the Batavian.
