Ravens take Devontez Walker. Strike him off all my fantasy lists. Ravens definitely not a WR cemetery anymore but the yards are accounted for.
I have seen a LOT of different theories. Some people say Mara got involved. (I don't know if I believe that.) Others say Schoen loves him and Daboll doesn't. Reality is I think they just didn't have any good options and were willing to overpay a 25 year old coming off the best season of his career to be a bridge QB so they didn't have to sell Tyrod Taylor to the owner and fan base... I understand the decision. But I also would have laughed in Jones agent face and told him to go find $40 million a year somewhere else and then we will talk.
They should have non-exclusive tagged Jones and hoped that someone gave up the draft capital to give him an offer sheet, and gave Barkley a 3-year deal, IMO.
I wouldn't mind if the Eagles trade one or more of their 4ths or 5th for picks next year. We are already low in the late rounds next year and apparently rumblings are we may lose a pick for Barkley, although it seems like BS from Franklin misspeaking.
They should have let them both walk and moved forward without the stench of Gettleman on the roster. But that's just me being spiteful. The non-exclusive tag was the most logical choice for sure. In fact it was probably the ONLY decision that made sense in real time.
Jeff picked Javon Foster in the 1st draft exactly where the Jags took him. Then the Jags take our 2nd UDFA player but one many picked to be drafted.
All of this gets rendered moot if Jones becomes a better quarterback. However, the odds feel very, very slim... I have a feeling that 2026 is going to see the Giants in quarterback hell, with a #6 overall 2024 draft pick screaming that he wants to escape New York.
That was the pick back for giving a 3rd for Pickett. So the Eagles have essentially traded 2 2025 7ths for Kenny Pickett and delayed their 3rd to the next season.
Eagles fans in the comments there are blowing up bc they want a pick. They are dumb AF. 4 picks to get a 5th. ALL DAY! And we fixed the Pickett value loss while getting picks next year.
I do like that Atlanta doubled up on interior defensive linemen. It pretty much never gets mentioned in the media, but to me that's their top need and has been a high need for two years. I hate that they traded up to take Ororororororororororororororoho ho ho ho, but two interior linemen and an edge guy... yeah.
