ps: can you get Andy Russel back? He's my all time favorite and now that he's passed it seems more important than ever... thanks

    NO Tim
Andy Russel was a LB in the late 60’s to mid 70’s for the Steelers. MaineofSteel is the only account that needs rebooting

Cool MOS glad to have you back, been a few years.

My Robinson prediction was based on the simulators I ran. 20% of the time he was available. The WR contracts are going to make GM's pull the trigger on this group earlier than expected, which pushes edge rushers back.
This equates to Chop Robinson and Darius Robinson falling out of round 1. Granted DR was invited, but that means nothing to teams selecting.
I hate to be a Debby Downer but 4-5 of the round 2 WR targets might go in the 30-50 range. Could it push Cooper back, Robinson, perhaps.

    Let's get excited it's Christmas

Thanks bites, really good to be back too. Great seeing some of the old timers here too... you, the Crtn, Gid, dirk, the pumpkin...and of course and always the beach. Feels right at home. Look forward to tonight with you guys'

Bye the bye, wife says to me as I'm watching good morning football... "what the heck is up with the excitement over a draft, I mean it's not even a game?"

Honey (better half for 45 years) this is like Christmas. Tons of anticipation hoping against hope your guy comes up on the podium. Wish I could describe the look she gave me but any of you who've been married long enough already get it... I'm sure

    see you guys tonight!

Nothing makes you feel old than being referred to as an old timer

…but it’s great to have you back MoS.

Mims, Barton, or somebody else. JC Latham is rumored to go top 7. Fugua could drop, but keep in mind not ideal arm length. Mims and Guyton are condors. Mims only 8 starts does not equate to snaps because Georgia is so loaded at talent guys rotate in an out. Sedrick Van Pran could be there at 98, not a horrible consolation prize. How high up is Brian THomas Jr. on PIttsburgh's board, not sure but I can see 10 WR going in the top 40. What happens if Brock Bowers slides to the Colts do they pass on Quinyon Mitchell, that is a good topic for discussion. Steelers brought in AD Mitchell, my gut says he goes in the 30's, maybe high 20's. I like himi better than McConkey because of their frames. Speaking of Frames, Xavier Leggette is buiilt to take the pounding and a willing blocker. However not the best route runner. Malachi Corely is probably slot only, but the idea of an Offense is to move the chains, he is the KING OF YAC.

I'll second that. And the good thing is that he is likely older than me, 65, so now I am not the only old Fucker ranting on the Draft for the past 11 years here.

Andy Russel should be in the HOF
    8 Pro Bowls
    4 All-Pros
He was the one who helped Ham and Lambert become greater with his knowledge.
    Great to see you MOS

I remember watching the pro bowl in the 70’s one year and almost the entire Steelers defense was on the AFC squad.
A list of Steelers Probowlers in the 70’s would blow your mind.
    Joe Green
    Dwight White
    LC Greenwood
    Jack Lambert
    Jack Ham
    Andy Russel
    Mel Blount
    Mike Wagner
    Donnie Shell
    Terry Bradshaw
    Franco Harris
    Rocky Blier one season
    Lynn Swann
    John Stallworth
    John Kolb
    Mike Webster
There might have been another DB or two that were in the pro bowl at least once for them that I can’t remember off the top of my head. With the exception of Andy Russel all these guys played for us in all the SB years. We also had Preston Pearson who went to the pro bowl representing the Cowboys.
Can’t remember who we traded him for, but I still remember the look on his face when we destroyed the Cowboys in two SBs

So here are where Scott Pavele and I differ on the Steelers Depot rankings, agree on most, and have a few comments. Hey it's me I comment on everything. But this guy puts in thousands of hours, I am more a hundreds of hours guy keep that in mind.
In case anyone doesn't understand the 5.01 vs. 4.26 it's simple, 5.01 is early 5th, 4.26 is late 4th. 1.15 is picks 10-20, something like that.

The Elephant in the room is Tommy Eichenberg, round 4.01 my happy white ass. I have him at 203 on my board, I got several sites have him in the 180's. Injuries and inability to cover make him a 2 down thumper, we already got Mark Robinson.
I have Sedrick Van Pran lower, 3.24 he has him 2.24 I think he's there in the 3rd round. 295 lbs. at the combine, I would have him rated in the 60's if he was 305 ish.
Kris Jenkins and Braden Fiske are just football players, but the arm length and Karl Dunbar are not exact matches, I think he covers that. But he had a typo and lists Jenkins at 200 lbs, he is 300 lbs, plus or minus a donut.
Tvondre Sweat, 3.1 grade, NOPE, DUI, and the fat fucker wouldn't hop on the scale. So that scares me that he will snack his way out of the NFL. I have him OFF my board.
Justin Eboigbe rated 3.24, I got him with a 4.15 grade.
Nick Samic way to friggin early. I mean if you want an OG Zak Zimmer is my pick, the leg will heal, he is a much better prospect. Samic can be a Center, but there are much better options.
Austin Booker is a grade or two lower, but he explains why OLB is not a need. StlCrtn turned me onto this cat, watch the tape, he has the bend, the length, someone is going to get a steal. I have him at 41 just because I have a gut.
Darrius Robinson, I have him graded at 1.25, Depot grade of 4.16 WTF. He has the ability to play inside and outside, has the arm length, I don't get the logic here at all. Hey, like I keep saying someone has to drop out of round one. OT and WR are going to dominate round 1. And lets pray this dumb fuckers keep taking QB that will be stocking shelves at Aldi in 8 years. Robinson was unblockable in Mobile, and came in for a visit. Mid 4th is preposterous.
Muhamid Kamara 5.1 I guess, but man watch his tape, and he destroyed USC when the competion was elevated. I have him at a solid 4.1
Ben Sinnott 5.1, I have him graded 3.12. Since TE is not a need with 5 on the roster, I dunno man, tough to pass on talent.

More comments on the Steelers Depot big board.
Not taken off the board but a lot of DT are not fits, but to give them is 7th round grade is kinda pointless.(Scroll to the bottom) . And if they don't fit, just don't have them on your board. (like me) You can see that with the 4.01 grades on Edge Rushers. If Markus Golden doesn't resign the only guy you got to back up is Nick Herbig. Austin Booker and Muhammid Kamara would really be a good fits.

Other shit on my mind. According to Mel Crapper, Steelers are possibly moving up for Barton. Why? I think he needs more meds, Lithium. . Hopefully it will control his synapses and the twitching and that shit eating smile (I just wanna bash out those chicklets man)

    https://steelersdepot.com/2024/04/k...m-barton-could-trade-up-a-few-spots-to-do-so/

More shit slinging from PFF, I am beginning to hate these Assholes as much as ESPN. Trade pick 20 For Aiyuk, sure Skipper. I would rather trade less for Sutton, since he has familiartiy with Russell Wilson. But Denver doesn't have the depth at WR to do something like this...... then again neither did Pittsburgh.
