The problem with the Steelers is Dotson was a RG and not comfortable on the left side, Steelers never picked up on that, kind of alarming. Agree on Munchak OL talent is not being developed.

I will probably go Melton if either magically lasts until 84. Rakestraw is probably the most versitale but you're talking pick 51 and I think WR is the target and where the cluster is in mid round two.

speaking of that, find your clusters, this is how I mock to Pittsburgh. We can use any site we want but I get NFL mock draft data base is the most universal since they base their board on averages of PFF, ESPN, NFL, etc..,
they also have a simulator, just tried it. kinda fun. The way the board fell I had to wait on WR. I guess my crush on Austin Booker would probably not be realistic, but here is what I took with BPA and filling team needs.

I did ok, but I ignored OT, I think pick 98 is where I should have gone. Waiting on WR in round 2 becaue Frazier was highest rated player and a real need. Something tells me Ohorhoro will be better than Maason Smith once he adjusts to the NFL.

 

I really love Sainristil, but I do have Melton closer to him than I originally did.

 

I would not be upset with Wilson.. I personally think either Harbaugh's offense did him a disservice or Harbaugh didn’t have the confidence in McCarthy he leads onto and that’s why he didn’t utilize him more… I’m more inclined with the latter.

I’m not that a fan of Coleman, I see him having trouble separating in the NFL. Yes he’ll catch the contested balls, but that’s because he won’t be open often enough.

I agree on Pearsall, I like him as well.

I also really like Malik Washington a little later on. He seems to catch everything thrown his way. Yes he’s a slot receiver, but I think he’d be a good pick and player later in the 4th round and would allow us to hopefully go back to back in 1 & 2 and lock down our offensive line with a tackle and center.

I might also be higher than most on McCaffrey, but he’s got the pedigree, and he is young in his development as a wide receiver and think he’ll progress rapidly and become a nice receiver. One thing the Steelers have been able to do is develop wide receivers.

I don't know anything about Sweat but it would take more than one bad decision to move him off my board. If this was a pattern of behavior I'd agree - and maybe it is.

At the end of the day these are kids and I know a lot of adults with DWIs that are otherwise really good people - me included. Everyone makes mistakes.

 

Mims scares me. I don't like projects in Round 1. I want polished dudes that have put it on tape.

 

I have Fuagua rated above Mims. Barton makes the most sense. That guess was the high interest in Mims and he is best friends with Broderick Jones. Frazier I hope lasts. Screwball Kiper has McMIllan going at 51, too Early he was WR3 behind Odunze and Polk.

 

Fair point. DWI has a sore spot for personal reasons, lost my best friend in 8th grade to a car crash. Sweat in most eyes is a day 2 talent that would slide a bit into day 3 perhaps on some boards. But I won't soften on Burton, any man that hits a woman is off my board.

Spielman gets it FINALLY a person not a Steeler homer, gets the picks right. I don't know much about Jah'Quan Jackson and it seems like a redundancy with Calvin Austin III on the roster. I am not sure who would be available at 195 but if Rush and Trice don't work out they need size on the boundry. Ryan Watts CB Texas is my pick.

I am betting house money on this mock. Most were part of the 30 visitors group except for Wilson, who I gave the edge over Pearsall based on Tomlin's input.

my sticking point is they really did not bring in any late rd. WR I just think Phillips is a better value than McCaffrey or Rice. At 178 I took McCormick because of the value and interest, personally I'd take a safety at some point but none came to visit.

 

I don’t know how realistic these mock drafts we run are but I found that players that I felt were needed for the two teams I drafted for were getting hit hard no matter what they were projected to go in. It seemed that I had to reach to fill the glaring holes that the Chiefs and 49ers had. They have pretty much sound rosters but the positions they needed were the hardest to get. Not because there weren’t a lot of good prospects at those positions but those positions were getting slammed hard in the mock, which I think won’t be as bad in the real draft.

 

I’m guessing KC targets WR and CB with Rice and Sneed holes. They don’t have a lot of capital to move up

 

Agreed. If someone like Worthy is available late, the Chiefs will pounce.

I’m not saying Steelers are going Quinyon Mitchell but he’s tmy highest rated player remaining . Considering Arnold since the presence at his pro day. Fantanu is just vanilla ice cream I’m looking for Caramel Swirl with sprinkles. Tampa Bay has good capital but Green Bay needs a CB and better capital. However they really like DeJean You’re still behind Dallas and their #1 need is OL. You pray they take Fantanu with Tyron Smith going to the Jets . Maybe they like big muthers and take Guyton.

Trevor Sikemma is a clown . Pearsall is a good pick but other than that it’s a fucking train wreck.

Wiggins is too slight. Beebee, Kinchens, Rice, Proctor and Bertrand have not come in for visits and Pittsburgh hasn’t shown strong interest in any of the players after Pearsall. Just lazy and uneducated , starting with pick 84 just throwing darts at a player wheel. Anyone notice no DL help? Hey Trevor it’s not about your shitty computer rankings it’s about team fits and needs. What a jagov I’m not a huge fan of Rice and Tahj Washington fits the interest and range better
