I'm wearing out my milk crate, anyone else have an opinon. Can't wait for RTN (return to normal) and the collaborative to be done and over with to get more action on here.

Another day 3 sleeper to put on your board or move up perhaps. Dadrium Taylor-Demerson Safety.

The day 3 safety I like most is Tykee Smith. Played in an NFL style defense and had a knack for playing lights out. He’s going to have to cut his teeth playing ST’s but could get an opportunity in year 2 or 3

RIP Bill Tobin. "Who the Hell is Mel Kiper anyway" Bill said what millions of fans and NFL executives say behind the scenes, he was a voice for all of us.

They had Field Yates on the NFL Network/ESPN crossover (who? yeah that is what I said) Holy shit he's a twitchy fuck just like Kiper. Guy must blink 500 times a minute, and keeps that shit eating grin on his face with that annoying constant mini nod while listening to someone else. Remind you of anyone? Seriously they must have Death Wish Dark Roast in their coffee maker and Mt. Dew Charge in their soda machines.

I hate the network crossover, for the majority of them, if I wanted to watch their ANALyst, I’d turn on their station… there’s a reason I don’t …..
Mocking for the raiders and Miami whom I didn’t get to do a lot of research on to try to best set up a board for each team.

in the 1st round, NE traded back with Minnesota and the Giants also took a QB, so felt like my hand was getting kind of forced if I was looking to get the Raiders a QB. I was expecting the giants to go a different route, and I knew they didn’t have a second round pick, so I was planning on getting Penix or Nix in the second round. Well with NE and Denver selecting ahead of me, I was afraid they would both select a QB, and then left missing out, so I traded up to get Penix at 9, only to have both teams pass on QB’s and Nix not go to the end of the 2nd round, which I definitely didn’t see happening. In hindsight, I should have selected either Mitchell or Arnold, who I really think they want, and will be their pick with the 13th pick. Sucked even more because I gave up a 3rd round pick to move up and there was a lot of talent at the pick.

2nd round, got them Zac Frazier

4th round, there was still a bunch of offensive talent left, but felt needed to address the D, so selected Cam Hart

Miami only had 2 picks through the 1st 4 rounds, so in the 1st Selected Fuaga for them and then went defensive line in the 2nd (55) with Michael Hall Jr. Patriots traded up to the PHI spot (53) in the 2nd or else I was going to accept the trade offer of 68 & 103 for the 55th pick as Miami had very few picks and there was a ton of talent to pick for them.

I'm not suggesting you are wrong but 6'3" WRs that run 4.3, can track balls and win 50/50 matchups don't grow on trees. I don't know anything about his character. That is obviously a very important part of the puzzle. The physical traits are hard to ignore.

I do hate ESPN with every fiber in my body. If you want twitchy blinky assholes, then that is your network. The best part is they have the cojones to charge their dwindling subscribers a monthly or yearly fee. I mean shit I would rather give than money to an animal rescue site. Basically their pitch to get more subscribers is to sucker in people and have their friends sign up on their recommendation because they're embarrassed for getting sucked in themselves. Sort of like their boss is Reggie from the movie Suckers.

The second coming of Jason Sehorn. Or for us old dudes, Mike Wagner. Wagner was actually the fastest player on the Steelers.
Same scenario, Depot seems to love Tommy Eichenberg, I would pass and take more athletic LB's. I am in the Ty'Ron Hopper camp by over 2 rounds.
Finalizing my board, I will be here all 3 days of the draft, every round through 6, unless Kahn makes a move into the 7th. Probably take a few breaks between 119-178 that's just under 2 rounds.
Too many good players will be passed over based on the roster. Not a fan of Mycole Pruitt signing an Arthur Smith guy, is Rodney Williams the odd man out? Think about special teams #87 made some key plays last year and 2 of their gunners left due to free agency.. In my simulator I try and slide back and still get a Center, then use that pick for one of these luxury picks.
Ben Sinnott TE, think of the concussion history of Muth, and he is due a big payday.
Will Shipley RB, he has that juice need a solid third RB Honorable mention to Isaac Guernedo, speed size vision and a low odometer.
Austin Booker OLB, only a one year starter, but the tape screams UPSIDE TJ Watt will be 30 this season.
Muhammed Kamara OLB. another guy who just dominates on the edge. Marcus Golden is gone, who is OLB4?

Pouty Bitch Zac Wilson will be run out of NY bank on it.

Time is nearing for Jets to cut Zach Wilson

Wilson failed to show up for team workouts, NFL network reports the Jets are just sick of Wilson the drama, his face, his bullshit.. Sounds like Kenny Mittens. At least we got a late third for our turd and only bust pick 20, Wilson was #2 overall. Jets will be lucky to get a 7th rounder.

2024 7 Round Pittsburgh Steelers Mock Draft from Curt Popejoy of Steelers Wire | NFL Mock Draft Database

The Issue I have with this one is T'Vondre Sweat. DWI character red flags.
These players lasting this long and falling into Pittsburgh's lap.
The Steelers Defense won a lot of games in 2023, The offense failed to get into the end zone, too Defensive heavy.
Two D lineman instead of two corners or WR. Really like Kamara but he's a luxury pick at OLB.

2024 7 Round Pittsburgh Steelers Mock Draft from Ryan Pawloski of Still Curtain | NFL Mock Draft Database

This one is better, but again some of these players falling this far is in question.
But I like every single pick. I am someone not a fan of Maason Smith. I see a jacked up player who never put it all together. Glad this one doesn't pencil him in.

2024 7 Round Pittsburgh Steelers Mock Draft from Mike Nicastro of Behind The Steel Curtain | NFL Mock Draft Database

In this one they make some trades, not sure why you would trade with Dallas who ends up taking a premier tackle and the Steelers get the 6th best OT. in Guyton.
Waits too long to address WR. I like Ohorohoro but there has to be a WR end of round 2 with some mad talent, very deep class.
Trading up for Frazier, costly. This is playing checkers to get 2 OL who are at the minimum 3rd best at their position.
This is the second mock focused on Malik Washington WR Virginian. Did not come in for a visit. In the range he is selected Tahj Washington USC has come in for visits.

"Who in the hell is Mel Kiper anyway?" "Here's a guy that criticizes everybody, whoever they take. He's got the answers to who you should take and who you shouldn't take. And my knowledge of him: he's never ever put on a jock strap, he's never been a coach, he's never been a scout, he's been an administrator and all of a sudden he's an expert."
"We don't have to take anyone Mel Kiper says we have to take," Tobin continues. "Mel Kiper has no more credentials to do what he's doing than my neighbor, and my neighbor's a postman, and he doesn't even have season tickets to the NFL."

Just thought I would post the full quote. Again Kiper was 55th overall in mock accuracy in 2023. ESPN is all about Entertainment over sports. Their colorful analysts are more loud, obnoxious, opinionated, and basically Narcissists.

I hope most of you have NFL Network, that is what I am going to tune in on. I learn something new every day about the draft, here is one I did not know. I listen to Brian Baldinger on NFL network, because well he seems to like The Steelers even though he played for the Eagles, Colts, and Cowboys. Baldinger was born in Pittsburgh, PA, now it makes sense. If you don't know Kiper is from the Baltimore area, hence the bias towards the Ravens, I wouldn't be surprised if his jockeys were purple.
I talk a lot of crap, but I hate doing mocks with all the teams, "you know it don't come easy" - Ringo Starr 1971

Something has got to give. You cannot have 7 corners, 7 tackles, 7 WR and 6 QB come off the board in 32 picks. that is 27/32 which is really rare. Funny though my dad passed and I actually now I have a size 25/32" deep 1/2" craftsman 12 point socket from the early 70's. So no 27/32 is not a thing. Let's go over some scenarios as to why this will not happen.

There are at least 5 teams that need DT help, Newton and Murphy are solid first round picks and then there's a huge gap in talent so them slipping into round 2 is crazy. -2
There are at least 5 teams that need an Edge Rusher. Verse, Latu, Turner and possibly Chop Robinson should go day 1. Throw in Darius Robinson who I really like as well -5
Brock Bowers is going top 15 -1
There will be at least two centers gone in round 1, maybe three, let's be conservative. -2
Some team is going to grab either Payton Wilson or Edggerin Cooper just too talented to hope they are there in round two think Jack Campbell in 2023. -1
Bo Nix and Michael Penix are not first round QB's and there is just too much talent and need end of round 1 for teams to trade to get back in. SF, Balt, KC all need WR. Detroit and AZ both need cornerbacks. -1

summary of above that is 12 picks not CB, OT, WR, CB So expect 12 picks as "other", my prediction

Rashee Rice situation is not going away neither is the Aiyuk situation. Rams have a lot of picks, but they need a dominant DT to replace Donald. Baltimore is the team that is would to have to settle for the 6th or 7th best OT, 6th best CB, 6-7th best WR. I can see them taking someone in the other group. PIttsburgh may have Barton go to the Jaguars that leaves Jackson Powers-Johnson, is he worth a 1st round pick, I have him in the low 30's not a big reach. If you don't these Steeler site mocks seem to think Sedrick Van Pran Granger will be there at 84 and Frazier at 51.I don't think that will happen and is it worth the gamble.

On to the linemen. Mims is so talented can you justify passing on him, good topic for debate. I will say this about Frazier, as a wrestler, his longest match was 51 seconds, HOLY SHIT. Fantanu is another option, I thought he had short arms, but they are 35", long enough to be an NFL tackle but the wingspan is 81". Granted Mims wingspan is like a California Condor, but Fantanu is really technically sound, question is can he slide over to RT? He also has 9.5" hands but has a helluva hand punch. Fugua is an animal but 33.5" arms is borderline, he best position might be OG his wingspan is only 80". Daniels has 1 more year on his contract but if Fuagua kicks inside, it's not a great pick since they need a true dominant RT . Mims is a lab experiment with 11-1/8" hands and a 87" wingspan and a 111" broad jump. Weirdly enough his vertical is in the lower 10%, 25" and only 8 starts.. Latham has huge hands, basically baseball mitts, but he is more of a lunger and needs coaching. Pick your poison. Barton started as a Center as a 17 year old freshman, and well his IQ is up there. JPJ looks the part, but he can play Center, whereas Barton is more versatile. Guyton is sometimes mentioned as a plug and play RT, but I think he needs more NFL strength to make that statement, whereas Fugaua is ready to kick the shit out of anyone in his way day one.

summary of all of this: With the 20th pick I would say it's Mims or Barton.

My concerns with the Steelers is in their player development. Have serious concerns whether or not they’ll be able to maximize Mims potential and get him to where I think a lot of us see him becoming. Make no mistake, I love Mims, but I look at someone as recent as Kevin Dotson… we crossed him off and shipped him elsewhere, only to see him respond with an overall grade of 85.2 last year. Did he grow into that much better of a player on his own, or was he coached up differently with the Rams, to such an extent, that it let led him to the success he endured and made them so confident and willing to quickly sign him to, not only a new contract, but a $48 million dollar, thus paying him like one of the top at his position. I don’t think McVay is an idiot to make a commitment like that, if he didn’t think Dotson would continue to grow, or at the very least, maintain the level at which he performed last year.

if we do get Mims, which I hope we do, I sure hope the coaching is up to the task and can maximize his potential, because he could be a beast and what that line could be. Coaches better be on point, hate to see that talent wasted.

oh where oh where is Munchak??

On to Round two in this Podcast Prediction, whatever the heck this thread has become.

Let's dive into WR. Possible guys available at 51. Assume McConkey, AD Mitchell, and Franklin are gone.
Malachi Corely is built like a RB from the waist down, but I think he is limited to the slot, hes YAC is insane. Roman Wilson led the nation in seperatoin, better than McConkey, Harrison, anyone. One thing to note is his 3 cones was top 90% Tomlin loves Wilson. Ricky Pearsall is just good football player, runs great routes and is a little taller but slower than Wilson. Then there is the 3 cone drill, 100% percentile. Xavier Leggette is a freak, more of another George Pickens, not a real polilshed route runner, but is great at 50/50 balls. Wild card here if he fell would be Keon Coleman, he is able to just snatch the ball out of the air with his huge hands. his 40 was slow, yet he had the best speed in the gauntlet. However Coleman is not a polished route runner. Pearsall came in for a visit but not Wilson. A large contingent went to the Michigan pro day, not Florida.

My Prediction is Roman Wilson because Tomlin has the final say.
