I think the spreadsheet is just about at the point where it's as easy to run a draft as I can make it. The only other tweak I can think of is to put the area where we paste the text of trades for reference right next to the master list of all the picks on the Reference tab. That would make it a little faster to update the board for trades since we'd still be on the same tab if we couldn't remember all the picks. We wouldn't have to go back and forth between Reference and Trades. Otherwise, we put the pick number next to the name on the Big Board and change the teams for traded picks on the Reference tab - and that's it. I don't think I can simplify the process any more than that.
Be nice if maybe we could have each team's picks and drafted players somehow pop up on a list for them.
@notacos4u and @Willie hit me up if you have any interest in discussing your 2023 Day 3 QB’s now that you’ve replaced them with 2024 Top 10 ones.
Interesting idea for a feature. That would be linking the player list in the Big Board to the pick list in the Reference tab by overall pick number, and possibly also linking the GM list from the Participants tab to pull in who the GM is. The query would list the GM, team abbreviation, round, pick number and player details, sorted by GM, team abbreviations and pick number. Easy to do in a database engine using SQL. The tricky part would be getting it embedded back into Google Sheets.
I picked Jarren Hall really late and he's living up to that, lol. Hopefully the picks this year in the top of the QB class live up to all the hype or there's going to be some real bummed teams, like Chicago, Washington and the Patriots. Surely these cats this year are better and a couple might get thrown into the fire very quickly and not just Williams.
Cats? Maybe Jayden Daniels. Caleb WIlliams is just a guy but not obviously not a Jag. Michael Penix is a dog though. That JJ McCarthy guy is a big weasel. Drake Maye is a tough ram and Bo Nix is a stupid bird. Spencer Rattler is a dick though. I mean cock.
I went into this draft expecting NOT to go OT early. I no longer think they need to but I really like Crum and he could be a pleasant surprise and could possibly go much earlier. At the very least him and Bortolini will be much needed depth on the line. Crum was the reason I kept passing on OTs in the 3rd round but I was also hoping Tanor would slide as well and luckily he did.
the sheet I use for the drafts I run and co-run has all those features, particularly the same exact idea for trades. I also have a sorted by team tab that shows you each teams selections and remaining picks. In fact, I'm using it to track this draft. Wish I could share it here. I tried, but this message board is the most restrictive board I have ever seen. No wonder why almost all the subs are vacant. Hell of a way to take the fun out of a message board. @RTTRUTH and a few others here have seen it over on another forum in a mock I ran. GOt spme positive comments for it. I didn't create it but I use it every year. It even has uploaded pundit rankings fwiw.
