Sorry bout the hold up. Was pretty torn on 2 guys. Only got one offer. It wasn’t horrible. But no extra picks, and likely would cost me Latu and my plan B. Ultimately decided that until you have a top 3 Edge group you have to keep taking shots at elite producers. We locked up Buckner this morning until 2026. Adding Latu to a group of Buckner, Paye, Ebukam, and Odeyingbo gives us a top 4 defensive front in the league imo. I like the sound of that.
Ok... I just got off the webinar doing the presentation (data issues in reporting upcoming required electronic clinical data system-based depression screening metrics - and it's almost half as exciting as it sounds). Seahawks intend to trade pick #16 to Washington for #36 + #67 + OL Chris Paul + LB Mykal Walker. As soon as @ovfd55 returns and confirms, Washington will be OTC.
For the Seahawks... two key points for me were that (a) Seattle didn't have a second round pick (b) Pete Carroll is still there as an advisor, so his influence will still be a big part of their culture and their off-season program. I think Pete would insist that he's confident that the coaching staff can work with the two players involved and that I should jump at the chance to add them while also turning one top draft pick into two top 100 draft picks. It's tentatively four needs filled with one pick, which fits with what Seattle needed to do.
I could have stood pat and been fine. It worked out last mock but I wanted to try and get him if I could. I think the Eagles could trade up for one of the 3 Edge rushers or 2 corners selected so far, or an O-lineman if they really love a specific one.
