I'm a bit relieved as the Colts that I don't have to make that decision now.

Useless factoid: Brock Bowers is the only player on the 600-name Big Board with the first name Brock or with the last name Bowers.

    Are there any Bowesr’s?

So now this joke is going way back.

My brother in a lot of our fantasy leagues goes by Spicywiener. But when I signed him up for this site I wrote @Spicyweiner
See the problem?? Absolutely unintentional. But still funny nonetheless

I was giving Bowser grief about that when he signed up yesterday. But just a little slip of the typing finger. It happens.

No Bowser or Bowesr on the list.

But there are 6 named Malik, 5 Xavier, 5 Isaiah, 5 Myles, and even 3 named Zion. So having only one Brock (which I thought wasn't an uncommon name) kinda surprised me.

While the trade obviously gives Arizona an instant upgrade, I also like the potential of this for a Shanahan team. He has a history of making low-investment receivers work well, so replacing Aiyuk's production wouldn't be as difficult for SF as it would be for most other teams.

So the loss is certainly bearable, and SF instantly frees up $14 million of cap space and gets another late first rounder.

Works for me. Nice job by both GMs on this one.

I tried to trade Tim your pick 16 Aiyuk and pick 31. I looked at the page too quick and SEA SF can look similar on a glance and a five o’clock buzz.

Just looked at the schedule and I don’t pick till Tuesday. I knew that I wasn’t picking today but not Monday.

should have selected for the Bears so I could go into hibernation.

That wasn't you hallucinating. It was an initial error on the spreadsheet.

Skipping the bulk of the technical stuff, SEA comes before SF while San Francisco comes before Seattle alphabetically. That threw the spreadsheet VLOOKUP function for a loop when I mapped in all the picks, and it caused all of Seattle's picks to show up as extra San Francisco picks. I caught it and fixed it, but you had probably already seen it before then and had started your planning based on having a lot of extra picks. Sorry 'bout that...

That would have been interesting, but I wouldn't like it as much for SF. It would be doing too much to help a division rival tip the scales within the division. I think you did better with the trade that you actually made. SF can do a lot of damage with both 27 and 31 in hand.

And... Seattle is interested in trading down from #16, if there's someone in the middle of round 1 that you're targeting...

Ryan Dunleavy had a story in the New York Post on comparisons. FWIW it went something like this.

Caleb Williams was compared to - Patrick Mahomes, mainly because he can make plays by various arm angles.

Jayden Daniels was compared to Lamar Jackson because of his 'slippery' run ability.

Drake Maye drew a comp to Jusin Herbert based on 'arm talent'.

J.J. McCarthy kinda got skipped in comparison's in his article, but I seen an article from ESPN's Dan Orlovsky that compared him to Cousins - "McCarthy and Cousins play with a high level of conviction and routinely make difficult throws from the pocket look easier than they should. The former Michigan quarterback has his eyes and arm tied to his feet on when and where to throw the ball."

Many games recently, especially in do-or-die situations Ive seen Cousins try to force plays too much and basically looked panicked when his checkdowns were covered. Hopefully McCarthy, whoever drafts him, will have better nerves under pressure, but i suspect thats going to take a season or 2 to develop.

Curious to whom you would compare JJ McCarthy too as far as style?
