He has 7 open spots so he can have 7 bids, but you are correct on him being over the eligible bid number. The Buckner and Morrow bids are void.

Hmm, well, I see the technicality here now... He didn't have a kicker in a starting position. Still leaves him with only 6 bench spots. If we are going to allow him 1 bids, since all 3 were submitted simultaneously, he should be the one that says which two are void. After all, all 3 would have went signed in 60 seconds or less after he posted.
I understand that you have a bid on Landman. All I am doing is going in reverse order of how he bid the players.
I see what you did... but the fact is they were all submitted simultaneously. I hate to be a dick on this, but it's obvious he waited 31 hours, less than 60 seconds before the deadline to make these moves. Which is fine, if you have all the spots to make the moves. I'm just saying, either the post should be void, or the two voided spots should be made another way. Picking the bottom two names on the list isn't the way to do it, imho. I know Joe and to not rock the boat he will stick with your picks if given the choice, especially since I am bitching about it... but we shouldn't allow this type of post and make assumptions on which way it should be awarded. If anything, the entire post should be voided with an extra day added for all 3 bids.
There's no assumptions being made here. He made 3 bids in that post. They would be entered into the sheet in order. That would make the last two bids void. He doesn't get the option of choosing to correct, because it was his responsibility not to be over to begin with. This cannot be a precedent set.
I agree with this I can agree with this So, the only answer to me is, if someone cannot make a post within the rules. Their post is voided.
@IrishDawg42 I'm not looking to argue with you over back up LBs. You can have Landman, I'll cut Morrow, and that will be the end of this. IN THE FUTURE All bids will be accepted or declined according to the order received, and no legal bids will be removed or posts considered void because of an illegal or unacceptable bid within that post.
@Willie I'm gonna be on the road for most of the day, so if you could mind the store it would be greatly appreciated.
It won't be the end of it... a backup LB isn't the point. You can have some asshole (including me) jump on every night and make a post for as many players that they actually want, and have spots for, then make a bid for every other player on the list, knowing they aren't going to get them anyway. All it does is prolongs the process for days. I understand we have plenty of days to finish up free agency, but the point is filling a roster. If someone jumps on here every night and makes a bid for a player as he is getting ready to expire, then you have to make another bid for that player, it perpetuates filling the rosters and one owner will eventually get sick of making additional bids because they might miss out on another player while playing this stupid game. That is the point..
All this is going to do is make a moderator check rosters when bids are made nightly... more work. If the entire post is made to be invalid, that solves the problem.
It allows for honest mistakes and I am the sole person responsible for making sure the sheets are correct. I have help entering bid data, but nothing is finalized until I sign off on it.
Keep your LB, that wasn't the point. If this is the rule, I am absolutely fine with it.. I don't want a player based on crying about it. That wasn't the point.
If I came off argumentative in that post, or coming at you, that was not my intention. What I meant is that this issue is no longer in question because it is now a part of the rules moving forward. It was an assumption on my part that everyone would understand that the bids are received in the order that they are posted, because that's how they are accepted into the system. The rule is clarified now so it will not be an issue or consideration moving forward.
I thought I had more but I had 9 spots but I think I forgot about the last signings. I do have 7 though, not 9 (look at the kicker spot). That may change things and Landman is a legal bid. And I do most of it at night because it allows me to do a final check and not to be a dick. Until yesterday I did all my picks at night.
At the absolute very least, can I ask all owners to fill their starting spots to help moderators with their checks? I went in because of the shear number of bids you had out on the spreadsheet, so whoever updated that, didn't check. When I checked, I looked at available bench spots, which was 6.. I didn't bother to go up and look for a valid lineup. This makes more work for the people that are trying to make our experience fun.
I see Morrow was allowed to stay instead. I won't argue. I messed up. I didn't think I was going over, I must have gotten mixed up with my bids going up and taking forever and thinking the next step. So you see Tim, going back to a convo from yesterday, we have a long time for FA but if we keep having bids go on it can be a problem with new bids.
