Tricky Ricky was.a trip with his big azz contracts oh he drove me crazy also it just Kwesi-Adofo-Mensah drafts have sucked now he's driving me crazy help laughing
Is this true saw this on a podcast Capt Kirk wants 90 million qurateened for 2yrs WTF doesn't sound team friendly sounds like greed don't know if this is true or not if it is WOW....where are the SB's Playoffs appearances NFC Championship Games ?
According to a report from veteran columnist Charley Walters of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Kirk Cousins is going to price himself out of the Vikings' plans this offseason. "The buzz now is that it will take $90 million guaranteed for two years, despite that he’s still not yet fully recovered from Achilles surgery in November, to sign free agent QB Kirk Cousins," Walters wrote. "If that’s the case, he certainly won’t get that from the Vikings." Its a ton of money for a guy recovering from an achilleas tear and one peculiar thing is, Walters doesnt mention or quote sources, so until I hear from the Vikings or Cousins, Im not sold Kirk said that. If he did, he'll be in Atlanta or somewhere far far away from Minnesota.
Thats true... I just think they might try to get him cheap because of having to write a blank check for Jefferson, ASAP.
Vikings announce TE T.J. Hockenson has undergone ACL surgery A low hit from Lions defensive back Kerby Joseph on Christmas Eve resulted in a torn ACL for Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson. On Monday, Hockenson underwent surgery to repair the injury. Here’s the announcement from the team: “Vikings TE T.J. Hockenson underwent successful surgery to repair his torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) today. The surgery was led by Dr. Neal ElAttrache from the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, Calif. The team will continue to provide updates, as appropriate, during Hockenson’s recovery.” It’s unclear whether Hockenson will be ready for the start of the 2024 season. One of the top tight ends in the NFL, Hockenson signed a four-year, $66 million extension before the 2023 season. He has a $9.9 million base salary in 2024. In 15 games last year, Hockenson caught 95 passes for 960 yards and five touchdowns. PFT
As good as Capt Kirk has been its time move on the Vikings just keep being mediocre its time to take a team friendly deal so the Vikings can improve on defense maybe they might fa center with some muscle and get lucky in the draft find a RG and LG oh yeah get a QB!
Definitely need a QB in this draft and definitely need an C on the o-line and one more 'definitely', edge... got to get a top-notch edge rusher on that d-line (and they still need a really good DB/CB also). The Vikings need a lot of pieces. If Cousins wants top 10 money guaranteed for 2 years and the Vikings have zero choices but to sign JJ top WR money, Im thinking Cousins can fly, which then means Minnesota is going to need an FA bridge QB while the team goes full out on drafting the future QB. Its all crazy in my mind and a big fat secret on what direction or targets Kwesi has. Life in Purple Purgatory.
The Vikings always have lots of needs its time for the team friendly deal here so team can improve on the D-line the Vikings have talent they seems like there stuck in neutral but can YOU see Capt Kirk taking a team friendly deal I can't
Danielle Hunter on free agency: We’ll see what’s best when the time comes In many situations, a player coming off a career-high in sacks in the final year of their contract would be a likely franchise tag recipient but Danielle Hunter knows that’s not a consideration for the Vikings. The deal Hunter signed with the team before the 2023 season includes a clause precluding the Vikings from using the tag, so it’s either a new contract in Minnesota or a new team in March. Hunter has talked about wanting to be a Viking for his entire career in the past, but he sounded open to all outcomes when he spoke to NFL.com from the Pro Bowl on Friday. Hunter said he “did my job” by racking up 16.5 sacks during the regular season and said he’ll leave the negotiating to others before signing on to the “best available” situation. “Staying in shape, doing my part, and then when the time comes, my agent or the Vikings, they’ll come to a decision,” Hunter said. “We’ll see what’s best when the time comes.” Hunter set a career high in 2023, but he’s been a consistent pass rushing threat throughout his career and that should make for plenty of interest around the league if Hunter hits the open market. Danielle Hunter might end up being a cap casualty I don't know if they the Vikings will pay him if not somebody else will would hate to lose him
Good or Bad they just can't afford him and mediocre performance year in and year out the Vikings have never been NFC Championship game with him this guy has made some money being good but not elite time to turn the page I kept hoping things would get better hey I was wrong
1) In my opinion, which changes as fast as the weather here in the Great Lakes, Im ready to move on from Cousins IF he doesnt sign a team friendly deal, but it doesnt sound like he's interested in being friendly and is and will test free agency to try to land a gig for mucho moneys guaranteed on a potentially winning team. At 36 years old and last seasons injury, its high time to build on the future. Its a strong possibility the Vikings may move up and snag a QB in the draft which in itself leaves no one on the bench outside of Hall to bridge for a while till possible rookie QB is good to go at the NFL level. 2) They must pay Jefferson whatever the hell he wants. This guy is way to great to let go. He's a once in a lifetime catch, the face of this franchise at the moment. Even with missing 7 games last year he finished in the top 20 in WR's rankings and 1000 yards. 3) Gotta pay Danielle Hunter also, Phillips played great last year, but you cant let Hunter go and expect Phillips to cover the whole D-line. Hunter had 16.5 sacks last season, imo, he warrants a contract extension. With Hunter and Jefferson getting big moneys, I dont see how Cousins fits in unless he plays for something extremely reasonable. 4) The Vikings must kill it in the Draft. Interior lineman is a must, CB is a must, future QB a must... Kwesi needs to pull a rabbit out of his hat or anywhere else. Its very tricky looking, but when isnt it? <--- This Viking is fired up, lol. PS - I didnt even address the offense line which needs some help asap also.
What is Kwesi-Adofo-Mensah waiting for? I'm starting to think Justin Jefferson might be trade bait the Vikings really haven't recovered from the 2022 draft which was a disaster IMO he has to have a GOOD DRAFT Louis Cine looks like a bust Andrew Booth Jr well don't know about him yet it's a mess no running game ( sigh ) he has to nail this.....Cause he makes the Baddman very nervous I said this before in Kwesi-Adofo-Mensah I do not TRUST!
Justin Jefferson remains patient for a new deal, but will his patience with the Vikings run out? Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson made the rounds on Wednesday, and we had a chance to make our annual pre-Super Bowl visit with one of the best receivers — if not the very best receiver — in football. Now four years into his career, Jefferson has yet to get the second contract he so clearly deserves. The Vikings, however, have been dragging their feet. At some point, the Vikings may regret that approach. “I’m not sure what you’ve got to do, I’m not sure how much you’ve got to put up [to get the contract],” Jefferson said, “but, I mean, I will always continue to be myself. I will always continue to play the game the way I know how to play it and I will always give my all out there on that field. I know the money is going to come. I know the contract is going to come. I’m just gonna be waiting patiently.” Is there a point where his patience will run out? “You know, it kind of gets frustrating at some point in time of course, just what all I have done for the organization,” Jefferson said. “I’m still early in my contract, my rookie contract, but no one has done what I’ve done before. I’m just excited to just be a part of their organization and hopefully they feel that I’m valuable enough to give me, it doesn’t matter the amount of zeros, but I just want to play football and want to be a part of the organization that, you know, values me and wants me there.” Jefferson realizes it’s not just the money, but the respect the money represents. “That’s what you’re gonna have to keep in mind,” Jefferson said. “Of course, just like I always say to everyone that asks me this question when you’re going out shopping for a car, you try to pay at least as possible even though you know that it’s an expensive car. But you’re gonna try to get it all. So I know that it’s a business. I know that, you know, they have money in their pockets that they’re trying to keep. But I know the value that I have. I know what I bring to the table for this team, and I know the value that I have every time I step foot on that field. So, I have faith in my circle, the people that I have talking for me and in the conversation with the contract. But, you know, I’m just gonna let it play its course and still continue doing what I’m doing.” Jefferson is being pragmatic, which is good. But the Vikings should be pragmatic, too. This isn’t a guy you’re looking to sign in free agency to fill a need for a year or two. This is a face-of-the-franchise, foundational player. Exceptions must be made, specifically as to the team’s “rule” that full guarantees will apply only to the year in which the contract is signed. They’ve made that exception for quarterback Kirk Cousins. If they want to keep Jefferson — and if they want to keep him happy — they MUST make it for him, too. It won’t set a bad precedent or put the team on a slippery slope. If other agents try to get the same structure, the response is simple: When your guy plays like Justin Jefferson, we will. Pay close attention to this one, Vikings fans. Your team is inching closer and closer to screwing the pooch. If they do, hold them accountable. Jefferson is ready and willing to sign the contract he deserves. The only question is whether ownership is willing to do the right thing. Unless, of course, they’re planning to trade him in order to get in position to draft a franchise quarterback. While a plausible strategy on the surface, good luck getting the people who buy tickets and jerseys and overpriced foodstuffs to accept saying farewell, again, to a great receiver. Everyone knows Jefferson’s value. It’s time for the Vikings to acknowledge it, and to do something about it. Especially since it’s only going to get more expensive, the longer the team waits. As it always does. PFT/Florio
