For a moment I wondered if I would be allowed back into Canada without a "random" screening after I went to a Bills game during COVID and came back without a test. They said grace period ended a week ago and I should have listened to the news and radio for weeks. I told them I don't read the news. I went to the what should be the OG source, the government website and they didn't update their policy. They just reorganized the page and I found an exception that shouldn't exist. I found it and pointed it out to them before they could find me like $5k. They gave us a quarantine kit and let us go. Took them over a month to fix that. WTF is the government doing? Went to Michigan last season to see the Wolverines and Huskers but I got back no issue.

IMO... I think the TE position is very critical as you pointed out. They need a player there that can be a quick check down for Tua and at the same time a go to target. If they have that the offense would be nearly perfect.

In light of Tomlins return next year, I hope they find a OC who gets the full detail of calling plays. This last season seemed to be a conglomerate of Tomlin, Canada and Faulkner and all the rest. Maybe a no-nonsense OC who calls the plays will be a good thing, QB coach is important too. Who that OC will be is a mystery, but Tomlin needs some good peeps around him.

I really think, Allen and the Bills are going to destroy the Chiefs this weekend. I doubt its even close.

It’s hard to see either of these teams beating the Ravens next week.

Ok, so up to now I've been cringing at some of the news reports on my team interviewing Belichick. The main media stories have revealed that the first interview was one-on-one with Belichick and Falcons owner Arthur Blank. Bad enough, but what they left out was that Blank had Belichick come on board his yacht for the day to do the "interview". If that's not cozy enough, they also had dinner together before the second interview. Almost makes it seem like a done deal, although the team is interviewing a whole lot of other candidates - including a second interview with Harbaugh.

But would it really be a good fit to pair him with Atlanta? Is he burned out and past his prime? Did the last few years in New England expose him as a mediocre coach who looked great because he had Tom Brady all those years?

The best response I've seen yet came from Gronk. He thinks Belichick and Atlanta would be a perfect fit. He noted that Atlanta has an extremely talented roster that has drastically underachieved. Gronk says Belichick is exactly the coach to take the same roster and make them overachieve. He also points out that the Falcons have the cap space and draft capital to fill in the one or two remaining pieces and to keep adding.

I say he's obviously biased in his assessment of Belichick. But it's an interesting opinion nonetheless.

I'm also not a fan of Harbaugh, but I do have to give him his due. He has already proven he can succeed in the NFL, taking a 6-10 team that had not had a winning record in the last 8 years and immediately taking them to the NFC Championship three years in a row. And... it was in the NCAA, but he just proved he still has chops as a coach. He certainly had a much better year than Darth Hoodie.

To me Chargers make the most sense for Belichick they have the QB and a defense that has under performed. How do you fix a D that isn't where it should be bring in one of the best defensive minds ever.

Howie Long is also suggesting that Washington would be a perfect fit for Belichick. Not sure if the organization has any interest though, which would be an obvious prerequisite...

Atlanta has one helluva roster, bring in Kirk Cousins and they win the NFC South. Cousins has already said he would love to play for the legendary coach.

Mayfield finished the regular season with 4,044 passing yards, 28 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He replaced Tom Brady, the greatest player in NFL history, who threw for 4,694 yards, 25 touchdowns and nine interceptions in 2022. Mayfield is no comparison to Brady, but my point is he did well. Maybe, they should just try to reload. Keep Bowles, pay Mayfield and beg and pay Evans and give this core another shot next year.

Former GM Thomas Dimitroff added another Random Opinion in a podcast appearance with Kay Adams. I think GoofyMetrics has gone too far and I don't buy into the accuracy of the numbers, but what he said was definitely interesting.

He claimed that Belichick added an average of 1.5 points per game above the talent he had on the New England roster. He listed John (not Jim) Harbaugh at 1.4, Andy Reid at 1.3, and Dick Vermeil at 1.2 as the next coaches on the list. He emphasized that Belichick would be The Guy for any franchise that has nearly all the pieces in place and is looking to win now rather than to rebuild with an eye on 2026 and beyond.

Like Gronk, Dimitroff is part of the Belichick family tree, so to speak, having been Darth Hoodie's director of college scouting in the 2000s. So there's going to be a natural pro-Belichick bias there. And this kind of emphasis on GoofyMetrics sounds super-advanced but also led Dimitroff to make some absolute head-scratchers of draft picks. In other words, his belief in all this advanced stats crap is part of what ultimately cost him his job.

So take it with a generous portion of salt. But it's still an interesting Random Opinion.

Mike Evans is 30 and on the brink of decline. I am sure he is going to maximize this contract to get what ever he can... If that offer is even close to acceptable, the Buccs should try to give it a 5% bump and get him in house for the next two years to finish his career in Tampa. The offense still flows through him, despite his age. He plays through injuries and truly seems like he loves the city and franchise.

As for Baker... What team is going to offer him the best bridge contract to get their new rookie time to develop?

Baker never got his break the bank contract, so more than likely, he chases the money. I think he would like to stay in Tampa, but will they offer him a starter contract?
