That's, in essence, starts with the 2023 season. Not difficult when you compare a playoff game to the typical turds streamed on TNF by Amazon Prime.
Ya. The only good TNF games the last few years really randomly came after everyone was used to NOT watching TNF because they sucked. Not a good sample size. Peacock just wanted people to get free trials and rope a bunch of people to stay for the content or forget to cancel.
McCarthy is back with the Cowboys but it looks like they will play out his final contract year. Sirianni also likely back as he and the GM are reaching out to coordinator candidates on both sides of the ball. However that may be just to do last minute planning. They are meeting with the owner today and we'll get an idea today.
That is even less surprising. But, I found this... which is a bigger deal than record viewers for Peacock:
It was a streamed only event... The others were available on multiple networks. If you were able to get in the millions new subscribers out of those 23M, then it becomes worth it. I don't know what their subscriptions looked like before the NFL, but I'm curious how many new subscribers they got. I can tell you, I have a lot of subscriptions, this was not one of them and I didn't subscribe to watch this game either.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin opened his Thursday press conference by joking that he was in a better mood and asking if anyone had any contract questions, which referenced his abrupt departure from Monday’s postgame press conference when he was asked about having one year left on his current deal. Tomlin said he didn’t think a press conference after a season-ending loss was an appropriate place to discuss his contract, but added that he could have handled the situation better than he did in Buffalo. After an introductory statement from Tomlin, the floor was opened to questions and Tomlin was asked one about his pact. He said he’s confident that he and team owner Art Rooney II will work out a new deal. “Yes, I expect to be back. I’d imagine those contract things are gonna run their course,” Tomlin said. “Art and I have a really good, transparent relationship. We communicate continually, often. I don’t Imagine it’s gonna be an issue and I imagine it’s gonna get done in a timely manner at the appropriate time.” Later in the press conference, Tomlin said the contract “will get done when it gets done” and that he’s not targeting a particular date where he’d like to see things wrapped up. Tomlin just wrapped up his 17th season as the Steelers head coach. Assuming all does get worked out on the contract front, it seems likely that he’ll be hitting two decades on the job in Pittsburgh.
Stafford ran up and said this; "Hey, that’s a good hit. You’re dirty as fuck, though, and you know it. You’re dirty as fuck. It’s been on tape. I’ve seen it. It’s been on tape," he said. Too many times the NFL lets this type of shit go. It will end when they get serious and end the SOB's that make these kind of hits. Kick them out, period, fines aint working. I like Dan Campbell, but even he pissed me off with his BS excuse on the play... 'keep your head up' he's saying. Ya right. Kerby joseph said this; "ALL SERIOUSNESS…. THIS GAME WE PLAY IS VERY DANGEROUS….I’m praying for bro and his family I don’t have no intention to hurt no body and or harm their career I been a mf dog since I came out my mama womb and nun of y’all on here gone take that away from me," he wrote. Sounds like an admitted asshole to me.
Bills wide receiver Gabe Davis caught four touchdown passes in a playoff loss to the Chiefs a couple of years ago, but he won’t be able to help their bid to beat the Chiefs this Sunday. Head coach Sean McDermott said on WGR 550 that Davis has been ruled out with a knee injury. Davis has been out of practice all week and also missed their win over the Steelers in the Wild Card round. McDermott also ruled out three defensive players. Cornerback Christian Benford (knee), linebacker Baylon Spector (back), and safety Taylor Rapp (calf) will not be playing this weekend. Benford and Spector were hurt against the Steelers while Rapp joined Davis on the inactive list. Linebacker Terrel Bernard (ankle), cornerback Taron Johnson (concussion), cornerback Rasul Douglas (knee), and linebacker Tyrel Dodson (shoulder) are likely to get questionable designations after McDermott indicated they wil be game-time decisions.
Lions tight end Sam LaPorta was able to play in last Sunday’s win over the Rams, but he’s not a sure thing for this Sunday’s matchup with the Buccaneers. LaPorta is still dealing with a knee injury and he’s been listed as questionable for the divisional round. LaPorta was a limited participant in practice the last two days. Edge rusher James Houston has also been limited as he tries to return from a Week Two fractured fibula. Lions head coach Dan Campbell said the team is still mulling whether they will activate Houston. Wide receiver Kalif Raymond has been ruled out for the second straight week with a knee injury.
