I don't see the Sean Payton Saints even thinking about doing something like that.

I have more problem with the Dolphins not going for the record high score in the league history than the Saints running up the score.

Bills host the Steelers then if they win they host the Chiefs if they win or the Texans vs Browns winner if the Chiefs lose.

If the Steelers win they go to Baltimore.

It's official... Arthur Smith has been dismissed as head coach of the Falcons.

On December 3, the team was 6-6, 3-0 within the division and had a clear path to the division title and a winning season. Instead they went 1-4 down the stretch and went 0-3 within the division the second time around. Arthur Smith made a mess of the QB situation, going back to Ridder saying he was the guy for the rest of the season, then changing his mind and going back to Heinecke. Meanwhile his "positionless" offense that should have been wide open turned out to be one of the more bland and predictable offenses in the league.

So... no surprise that he's gone.

And he goes out like a little bitch. (Don't blame him for being upset but really?)

I don't think it was the running up the score part of it that bugged him as much as the fake V formation aspect of it. When you show the V in absolute garbage time, you're saying hey, chill out, let's not risk anyone getting hurt and let's end this thing.

If teams can't trust other teams to take a knee in that situation, you're going to get guys taking cheap shots at linemen or intentionally driving centers into the kneeling QBs under the excuse that the offense might have been planning to run a real play.

Packers got a nice gift by hitting Fields late and concussion protocol pulling him off the field on their game-tying drive. Seahawks are probably pissed.

so as we wind on down the road
there was a team that we all know
who bleeds purple with shouts of skol
who drops the ball on 4th n goal
    four defeats in super bowls
and if you listen very hard
the tune will come to you at last
when all is one and one is all
really should have stuck with baseball

So, all that need's to happen is this... Steelers win, Dolphins win and Browns win...

Then the Browns will HOST the Dolphins in the divisional round.

Steelers beat the Ravens, then the Browns will HOST the Steelers in the Conference Championship... Never in a million years did I think I would be a Steelers fan...and I still am not... I am merely rooting against the Texans, Chiefs and Bills.

Of course, it's perfectly conceivable that the Browns go to the AFCCG, but could anyone see a matchup like that even 6 weeks ago.

    That would be wild.

I've been seeing it for the past 30 years... of course, I've burned through so many pairs of orange colored glasses I lost count.

In light of Smith being fired, what have you heard about the Offensive Coordinator, Ragone? Is he still going to be retained or is that a decision made by the new coach (who ever that is, maybe Belichick, lol) and/or the GM? Its interesting to me as to how much input Ragone had in the play calling as to what Smith may have over-ridden or vetoed. Blank needs to be on the phone with a few people ASAP, including, Belichick, Rivera (I believe he will be gone and available, just not sure if he fits the Falcons scheme) and whoever they can conjure up and get things going now. The sooner the better.

Defensively, solid and growing... offensively a work in progress again. IMO, a offensive minded head coach to gel with the already in place defensive guys, including coaching staff would be ideal.

Who do you wish for as HC? What direction or persons do you wish to be inquired upon?

Here's a new problem for the Colts... per; PFT

Wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. doesn’t sound like he’s in a hurry to re-sign with the Colts.

Pittman’s rookie contract is up and he indicated on Monday that he’d like to see what kind of market is out there for him in free agency before he makes any commitment for the 2024 season and beyond.

“I made it this far, so I’ve loved my four years here. But I wouldn’t be doing my due diligence if I didn’t explore every option and find the best fit,” Pittman said, via Stephen Holder of ESPN.com.

Pittman ended the 2023 season by setting new career highs with 109 catches and 1,152 receiving yards, which should make him a popular guy with teams looking for help in the passing game. The Colts could use the franchise tag to keep him and he said he wouldn’t be “displeased” with making the salary that comes with it, but that he isn’t “necessarily” looking for that to be the way things play out this offseason.
