Arthur Smith hot at Saints after loss, and Dennis Allen understands why Saints coach Dennis Allen got a butt chewing from Falcons coach Arthur Smith after New Orleans’ 48-17 win. Smith refused to shake Allen’s hand and told the Saints coach, “That’s fucking bullshit!” Smith was angry about a touchdown the Saints scored with 1:10 remaining. “You don’t want to see the season end like that,” Smith explained afterward, via video from Zach Klein of WSB. “Credit to them. They made the plays certainly in the second half. It got out of hand. You can do whatever you want. I just gave them my opinion about it. But it doesn’t take away the fact that they beat us in that second half and took advantage of our turnovers and hit some shots.” Allen agreed with Smith and began his postgame news conference by apologizing. The Saints were lined up in victory formation when Jamaal Williams ran it in from the 1-yard line. Allen said the players asked if they could get Williams a touchdown. Allen told them no, they were taking a knee. The players ran it in anyway. Allen called it “unacceptable.” “That’s not who we are, not what we’re about,” Allen said, via Mike Triplett of neworleans.football. NBC
If they tie then the Bills are off to the Mahomies. Damn I am pissed the Chiefs likely get the Steelers. That's one team to get your mojo back vs. Actually both teams are probably each other's preferred 1st round opponent.
Arthur Smith got buy hurt and is probably about to get even more but hurt when he gets fired by the Falcons.
I was just using the espn playoff machine. That's what worked there. I got the Steelers in at 9-8 and part of that is a Broncos win so they are 9-8. Since all teams are in different divisions, it's conference records as the tie breaker. Who cares now. Best luck to the Browns. I think they got a good draw.
A little surprised Allen blamed the players there. Most coaches would’ve taken the heat and handled that internally. But at the same time, you don’t like your opponent running up the score? Stop them. Personally don’t like the running up the score, especially with what looked like a trick play, but it’s the NFL, defense needs to make some stops
Shit happens Joe. The Steelers might have to play without TJ Watt so I really can’t feel bad about any players that miss a game.
How in sam-hell was a penalty not called when Justin Fields got wacked in the head by a peckerwood? Now Fields is forced off the field to go to the tent after the fact. There is no common sense by the officials in the NFL, complete lunacy all around.
