My updated post-playoff prediction: the entire NFC South gets relegated to the XFL, to be replaced by the Montreal Alouettes, Monterrey Rayados, Collingwood Magpies and the New Zealand Kiwi Ferns.

I think at this point, Mahomes has more tantrums than touchdowns. He's the new all-time leader in TPG.

Looking at the game coming up, @beachbum pointed out in another thread that Mason is going to face a tougher challenge against the Seahawks secondary than he did against the Bengals.

He will also be doing it away from Pittsburgh in a stadium that gives a distinct advantage to the home team.

To expect similar results to last week would be a stretch, but I do expect Rudolph to continue to prove that the coaching staff made a mistake with their approach on the quarterback situation.

    Ditto
Yes he played the bad bengals D but that doesnt change the fact that in the last 2 years he is the only 1 in the regular season to make the Steelers offense look like a pro offense. For once at the end of the game Steelers fans were sitting there in the 4th quarter relaxed and not having the 9 and the 1 dialed into the phone waiting to drop the last 1 when they went into cardiac arrest. Sure I may turn out to be wrong about Mason but ill ride that train until then.

The NFL playoffs are coming. And plenty of NFL teams still have a chance to get there, at least mathematically.

NFL executive V.P. of football operations Troy Vincent notes on X that the 24 teams still in the chase for Super Bowl LVIII are tied for the most in the past 20 years with two weeks left in the regular season.

That means only eight teams have officially had a fork stuck in them: the Jets, Patriots, Titans, Chargers, Commanders, Giants, Panthers, and Cardinals.

Having 14 teams in the playoffs helps, of course. Even if a seventh seed has yet to beat the No. 2 seed in the wild-card round since the playoffs expanded. (Twice, the Bills came close to losing as the second seed, against the Colts in 2020 and the Dolphins in 2022.)

Either CJ Mosley is hurt or he was super gassed during that scoring drive.

Bears vs Falcons tomorrow gets interesting because of all the hype that the Bears might trade Justin Fields this offseason. Atlanta is nearly always mentioned as a likely trade partner. So tomorrow, the Falcons coaching staff gets to see Justin Fields up close and personal.

Random opinion: the Falcons organization hasn't made their decisions yet for the offseason. If Fields lights it up, this game will be the trigger that makes the trade happen.

Eagles really glad the Cowboys somehow won but now they need to take care of business to lock up that #2 seed at minimum and avoid falling back to #5. Arizona is a giant-slayer this year.

NFL fucked up. Decker did report eligible. The refs reported the guy that fake reported (as the refs were told would happen pregame so the Cowboys had to pay extra attention). So 68 reported, got a nod of confirmation, 70 came up and did not officially report, refs call 70 as eligible by accident and the TD didn't count. To be fair to the Cowboys, this error meant they did not know they had to cover Decker as it wasn't announced. Essentially the Lions should have had another chance from the 2. Eventually they got one and failed from the 4.

Probably not a big deal but I find it interesting... the numbers of eliminated and remaining teams were the same for each conference.

This is going to be a big offseason story. I think there is enough proof for the Lions to directly continue to blame the officials and call them either liars or incompetent without incurring a fine... Or get a fine and make a stink about it with all the proof they have.

All season long, this has been an incredibly bad year for officiating. This year might be even worse than 1998 (when it got so bad the league finally brought back replay and the zebras even wrecked a game by fucking up an overtime coin toss).

It's time for FULL TIME officials with more training and video officials (as part of the officiating crew) to help cut back the blatant bad/missed calls.

The league makes enough money to pay the amount of officials they have a full salary with playoff bonuses.

I really don't want to see MORE officials add to each game. But, Now I don't see any way around it.

So that Lions game now possibly cost the Eagles the division.

If he wasn't eligible why were there not flags prior to him catching the ball. There should have been one for illegal man downfield and possibly an illegal formation.
