Proving like clock management Tomlin hasn't learned from his mistakes. Instead he will continue to use the you have been a bad boy but if you promise to behave next game we will let this go approach. Of course he still has his no losing season streak to think about instead of sending a clear msg to the rest if the team and future players by sitting his ass on the bench.

Put the kid on the practice field have Hines come in and show him what a Steelers wr is supposed to look like by knocking his ass to the ground then again Pickens will promptly cry and say his vagina hurts. Dude is softer than some of our kickers

Okay so the Saints lost so its simple now.
Saints win the division if they win out and the Bucs lose 2.
Saints win the division if Bucs lose out and Atlanta lose next 2.
In the last scenario the Saints control their own destiny entering the final week but have a backdoor.

If the Bucs win every game except vs the Saints then the Saints need to win out to have a chance at the wildcard. They also need the Rams to lose out and the Packers and Vikings to both finish with a worse record. Saints don't own any tiebreakers. Panthers winning would greatly increase your odds if the Bucs win this week.

It's sad to see the NFC South turning into the most interesting division in the league right now simply because, once again, the entire division just plain sucks.

For the Falcons: does head coach Arthur Smith need to go? I'm getting close to agreeing with RT. At the very least, I look at the offensive staff and think it's time for changes. Dave Ragone is OC and doubling as QB coach. Would anyone argue that he's doing either job particularly well? The team as a whole overachieved in going 7-10 in 2021. In 2022 the lack of depth due to salary cap woes torpedoed what had been an otherwise competitive team.

But this year? They keep finding ways to lose games they should have had in the bag. And benching Desmond Ridder for those two games last month made it clear even to the media that it's not all on the young QB.

Ryan Nielsen has for the most part done very well in his first year as DC. He stays, and everyone he wants to keep intact on his staff stays intact. They're going to have a lot of roster shuffling in the offseason though, simply because they still have a bunch of one-year contracts. What I really love about his performance is the way he has worked in fringe players and turned them into actual assets, as opposed to the total muppets the team played in similar situations last year. The defense is generally the strength of the team (currently 11th in total yards allowed), which is an impressive turnaround considering they were 27th overall a year ago.

So GM Terry Fontenot nailed it in free agency, at least on defense. His defensive draft picks seem to be coming through as well.

That puts the magnifying glass squarely on the offense and the decisions of the offensive-minded head coach and his staff.

Eves and flows, happens all the time. In regards to the offense, Falcons have the pieces, I just dont think they are right because of coaching... my opinion.

As we close in on the offseason, I will throw out there that 49ers backup Sam Darnold is about to be a free agent again. He played extremely well down the stretch for Carolina in 2022 and did well enough in training camp for San Francisco that the 49ers were willing to pull the trigger and dump Trey Lance.

I was really impressed with his performance last year in Carolina, and I will claim he's suitable as a starter - if you pair him with the right QB coach or OC. My choice for QB coach for him would be Ben McAdoo, who is also currently a free agent. Would I want McAdoo has my head coach or offensive coordinator? Hell no. But as QB coach? He's a good one, and he has already worked with Darnold.

Pipe dream for my Falcons = hire Bill Musgrave away from Cleveland (where he's currently a senior assistant) to be the OC, sign Darnold to compete with Ridder, and bring McAdoo in as the QB coach to work with both QBs.

With that combination, Arthur Smith can stay - under the condition that the mustache has to go until he wins three straight regular season games.

[edit for everyone not in the Atlanta area: he shaved off the mustache for Christmas with the family, but he also acknowledged that he's a tiny bit superstitious and hoped the change might help change the team's recent fortune.]

Im not actually thinking Smith should stay. I I think he will, but what more can they have offensively, that doesnt produce?

They covered the defense, but left the offense high and dry.

This is exactly where I'm at. I think he's back for another year. And I'd be okay with it if they got better position coaching for the QBs and most likely a new OC. I actually like Ragone, but doing double duty as OC and QB coach is a mistake when you're bringing up a young QB.

I'm really not sure what more Fontenot could have done for the offense this season. He brought in a whole new WR group (Mack Hollins, Scott Miller, and now Van Jefferson) to supplement Drake London, added Jonnu Smith at tight end to go with Kyle Pitts, resigned the veteran linemen Lindstrom and McGary, and drafted another lineman to solidify the starting group. The one big question obviously was the team's decision from last year to mold Ridder into the starting QB, and he at least brought in a competent backup. And then he drafted Bijan Robinson to give the young QB one of the most potent rushing trios in the game.

One local media outlet was pretty brutal on him when offensive line prospect Jalen Mayfield (3rd round pick in 2021) was released. But if a third rounder not panning out is the worst thing the media can pin on a GM, he's doing a hell of a job.

Why do people ask questions when they dont want logical answers?

Someone was asking why do people penalize Lebron James for his longevity but not Jerry Rice.

I said i dont know maybe because if you take away Rice's last 6 years he still leads in recieving yards and recieving touchdowns.

His reply thats irrelevant. LMAO people right i het it he is one of those guys who says Bron is the G.O.A.T. (hes wrong) but hey dont try and compare him to another G.O.A.T. if your not prepared for the answer that debunks your goal of trying to say they are the same.

For the record rice would lose the all time receptions lead without the final 6 years dropping from 1st to 4th.

Bills odds shot through the roof with that Broncos loss to the Pats. However it really sucks that the Cowboys blew it vs the Dolphins. If the Dolphins beat the Ravens, the division race is over before the final week rematch.

Here is my updated playoff prediction.
The 7 seed in the NFC is convoluted but if they take care of their business it's essentially in order of Packers, Rams, Vikings, Falcons and Saints. If everyone blows it then the winner of Packers vs Vikings will get the 7 seed... Unless Seattle also shits the bed, in which case the GB vs MIN winner could get the 6 of Atlanta loses out but also the Bears get in of they win out. I have the Rams, Packers, Saints and Bears losing with the Vikings, Falcons, Bucs and Seahawks winning next week, with the Falcons beating the Saints, Lions beating the Vikings and 49ers beating the Rams. So that gets Atlanta in. In the AFC, the 7 seed may likely come down to Texans vs Colts in the final week unless the Colts and Titans both win next week. That combined with Steelers and Bengals losses would clinch the playoffs for the Colts a week early.

SoCal made the picks and I told him about the wrong schedule. He picked the same teams that he picked the last week.

Chiefs game swaps the Bills and Chiefs seeds. Browns got the result they needed to have a shot at the #1 seed. They need to win out and have the Ravens lose 2 and the Dolphins lose 1. Easiest way is if the Dolphins and 49ers beat the Ravens and the Bills beat the Dolphins. Raiders are the next team in if the Colts beat the Texans in week 18 (in this scenario).
